The recent outbreak of cholera in Zimbabwe is the worst the country has seen in many years. MSF is responding in a number of areas across the country to save people who have been stricken with the water-borne illness. The southern town of Beitbridge, on the border with South Africa, has been particularly hard hit. In one week since 14 November, more than 1,500 cases were reported in this town of approximately 50,000 people. The very poor water and sanitation conditions in the town makes it easier for the bacteria to spread.

Rainy and totally uninspired Sunday morning. What better to do then go and do some pixelpeeping. I hear that some peoplee use the 100 % magnification on their monitor as reference for the sharpness of the lens. I can only advice you that "Real Pros"(TM) go for the subpixels. Only they give a certain indication if your picture is crap or not...
This is a 4510 pixel LCD screen crop blown up to 9 MP or in other words a magnification of 1:2050.
You should definitely "enjoy" this in large.

Arthur Emil von Krottnaurer, Sr. (March 1, 1873-?, born in Berlin, Germany)
Christine Sadie (Alexander) von Krottnaurer (Aug. 11, 1873-?, born in New York, NY)
The two children are unidentified. The photo was likely taken in North-Central Pennsylvania or New York State.

BALLOON DEMO CRASHES MUGABE BIRTHDAY PARTY
Beitbridge, South Africa-Zimbabwe border
As promised, we are pleased to send you photos of the helium balloon protest taking place right now on the South African side of the Beitbridge border post.
President Robert Mugabe, who is holding a Z$3 trillion party and election rally on the Zimbabwe side, has reportedly seen the balooon and ordered his soldiers not to shoot it down as this would create an armed incident with South Africa.
The 5 metre (17 foot) long blimp, filled with helium, is flying above a protest by several hundred Zimbabweans who have gathered on the banks of the Limpopo River in South Africa. Some have crossed from Zimbabwe and waves of others are joining the event.
The South African police is maintaining crowd control at the site near the Bridge.

I'm experimenting with upsizing some Nikon D800, D800E, & D810 HDR photographs to the 8288 x 5520 or 8256 x 5504 resolution of the Nikon D850! The Pixel dimensions of the Nikon D810 are 7360 × 4912 pixels. The D810's pixel width of 7360 pixels is about 90% of the D850's pixel width of 8256 pixels. Thus, at 90%, it would be hard to tell the difference between photos taken with the two Nikons, except in the very largest prints perhaps! The D810 has 36.3 megapixels or 36 megapixels, while the D850 has 45.7 megapixels, or 46 megapixels.
