For one human being to love another; that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation.
-- Rainer Maria Rilke
This is my dad. I'm missing him today. He died May 19th four years ago. When I look at this picture, it still doesn't seem to be real.
He traveled a lot. He was gone as much as he was at home growing up. So when I think of him as dead, well it's really more of a "gone" feeling. Which is very different.
My dad was a mixed blessing. I guess you take the good with the bad when it comes to parents. Right now, I'd take anything from him. I miss him so.
With all I have learned about photography, I wish that I had one last chance to take his photo. Oh how I would have loved that.
Los Angeles County librarians are quickly sewing face masks for LA County employees who are being deployed as disaster worker to homeless shelters or to provide childcare for health care workers in medical facilities. The librarians are following instructions from the Medical College of Wisconsin and using suggested materials and supplies.
Because there is a shortage of mask for people in the frontlines, LA County Library sent out a call-out asking for volunteers to sew masks. Approximately 100 people with sewing skills volunteered, and to 23 those people started to work at La Puente Library. By the end of their first week, they’ll create 350 masks. Once all 100 volunteers get stocked with supplies, they will produce 1,500 face masks per week. (Photo Credit: Los Angeles County)

Trudi and Her Mum are setting out on an adventure.
It probably won’t involve monsters or sea creatures or secret agents or doughnuts. Probably?
Where do we start talking about food poverty to kids?
Trudi is a funny little character who is keen to find out more about the world. In this storybook she is taking a walk with her mother to visit the local food bank. However when you are very small not everything makes sense straight away.
This story is primarily designed to help small people who might visit a food bank feel happy about their experience. We hope it will give all children and adults a way to begin talking about Foodbanks and why people need them. It should also make everyone laugh.
"The picture book has been created as part of an illustration project looking at current issues. The initial drive for creating a story came from a news article. The article talks about a parent feeling shame for being the position where she has no option but to rely on a food bank to help feed her daughter. The authors feel strongly that no child should feel shame for needing to eat and hope this story can help children see food banks in a positive light."

I took this picture out in the "Woods" . The wasps did not bother me and i was pretty close. This hive is larger than a basket ball.

In light of the proposals submitted to Australia since 2017, and reiterated in my latest correspondence to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Immigration on September 04th, 2023, intended to procure a swift resolution to the ongoing hostage situation in Greece, it appears these propositions were yet again not given the due consideration they warranted.
Initially, an email glitch prevented my message from reaching the Prime Minister’s inbox. An alternative email address was then sought on September 05th through their contact form, with a follow-up PDF submission of my email to them on September 12th when no reply was forthcoming.
As per the enclosed letter, it appears my communication had subsequently been forwarded to the Minister’s office, as it addresses that communication as opposed to the one dispatched on September 04th, 2023.

I am just starting to learn about the pen tool in photoshop 3. I must say I really enjoy it. It took a while to understand how its works but I think I got the hang of it. I wanted to work on a baby picture but all I had were scanned at a very low resolution ( gosh darn it ... yeah I said gosh). I made several for my brothers kids and gave it to them for Christmas. I made a slide show with about 3-4 pictures ( gradually showing the last picture as the finished product.)They had to guess who the line art was... they had a blast!
This is a picture of me when I was two years old at Christmas '78.
