G.I. Joe Classified Series: Crimson Twin "Xamot Paoli" 6in. Action Figure (Hasbro) 2022
(Promotional Image)
A HasbroPulse.com exclusive. Released June of 2022.
Despite Cobra having some fantastic designs like the Eels, Snow Serpent, Crimson Guard, Lamprey, Viper, Strato Viper, Motor Viper, Night Viper, Frag Viper... (need I go on) the Cobra Trooper has always been a favorite troop design of mine. Maybe it is the absence of any officer designations in the other ranks or just nostalgia, but I was very much waiting on this. The deep blue with black and red really kicks ass. Though this figure would be more at home in the 1983 album since this trooper has a swivel arm grip, and the 1.5 wave black painted eyes and brows as opposed to the brown paint used o the straight 1982 release, but I couldn't resist the visual awe in the 1982 album along side it's predecessor.
This reissue is fairly accurate front the front but the rear of the card isn't worth showing. Thankfully I have more accurate replicas (shown in this collection). The bubble is a bit deeper and wider than the original and the card art has been lightened a bit for clarity. None the less I am thrilled to have these and hope that Hasbro cranks them out more frequently or this line will be DoA before it takes off.
Here’s the Silver Centurion and War Machine taking on A.I.M. in events leading up to the Armor Wars (Stark Wars)
I’ll be as old as this comic this week, so that makes it #MyMarvelComic. There’s even a character named Clay in this issue (former villain Force)!
What do you think @hasbropulse, we’ve gotten Legends of most of the Armor Wars foes, is it time we get a Force?

Deadpool’s Head is upset he can’t open the Eye of Agamotto without magic hands.
The Eye is a pretty cool addition to the Marvel Legends collection!
I really dig these strange pieces (animatronics?).
The Time Stone for my Eye was not lighting up when opening. I tightened the four screws in the battery box and now it works really well, if anyone else is having that issue?
Super bright, looks great on a shelf, and makes me happy.

Transformers: Action Figure Assortments I, II & III (Hasbro) 1990
*Appeared In: Hasbro Toys "Spring" Dealer Catalog (1990)
So, after about a year of delays, Hasbro has finally shipped out the Pulse Victory Saber sets.
If you collect Transformers, or are aware of the fandom, you'll probably have heard that this set is not just highly anticipated, but also, that the finished product bears the tried and true Hasbro traditions of questionable design choices and QC concerns.
Having opened mine, I can definitely confirm both.
Victory Saber isn't one of those characters that is well known if you have no interest outside the American based universe, seeing how we skipped several Japanese G1 seasons here in North America.
Victory Saber is incredibly popular overseas as his look is not only a deviation from the typical Convoy/Prime aesthetic, but he literally has Gundam DNA in him - I'm not super familiar if it was the entire character, but you can at least see it very clearly in Star Saber himself.
The character/toy introduced some interesting concepts to the Transformers universe, though it's probably best known for the Brainmaster concept, which itself is a spin off of the Headmaster concept - tiny figure becomes part of a larger figure (in this case not so much the head but rather the consciousness of the larger robot head) which then plugs into body to form a larger robot, which was sort of used as recently as the Titnas Returns line.
The last time Victory Saber, as a Takara/Hasbro release, was back in the 2000s with the Robotmaster version, which were small, Deluxe sized figures and were of course not retailed here. There were hopes that there would be a Masterpiece version, as a Star Saber was released quite a few years back now, but they never followed it up with a Victory Leo to complete the set.
The Pulse set, including all of the bonuses for meeting sales targets, consists of four figures and various accessories. There is the Leader sized Star Saber, Voyager sized Victory Leo, and the two... I have no idea what they're called these days, but back in the day they were called Micromasters, Holi and Fire.
To keep things relatively short and concise, you're not going to see any mind shattering feats of articulation. These figures are, at the end of the day, mainline level releases, which basically means they'll do what typical figures of their size class can, though I will admit it was nice to see that waists were present on most of the larger figures, minus Victory Leo.
QC wise, there's the typical Hasbro material, joint, and paint issues. But that's not where things end - that would have made me a happy camper.
No, we have questionable packaging for a $180 USD set - better materials would have been nice, but at the very least you figure they could given us a clamshell rather than those plastic ties, which not only make repacking the figure impossible, but can, and have, caused paint damage.
Secondly, there's that sticker you have to apply. I get that you can't really paint that particular type of plastic, but why am I having to do it at all? Could it be because it's very labour intensive, and that the sticker is so flimsy you're likely to destroy it by just taking it off the backing?
Thirdly, there's a hair or a bristle under the chrome paint applications, which as you can imagine is very visually distracting. Some users have actually taken to covering it up with mirrored tape... which begs the question of either why they didn't use the tape in the first place, or how did they screw it up.
Finally, and here's my favourite - Hasbro actually forgot to cut a hole into the body of Saber. This hole prohibits the combination of the nose cone with the jet mode, which would have made transformation impossible if I hadn't spent an hour of my life fixing it.
The worst part is... I got off lucky. Some customers have reported even more aggravating things, like missing parts.
So overall, somehow Hasbro managed to make me work more and be more annoyed with a product that is priced at a higher than normal price point.
Retro-Carded Shocker looks way better with panel-lining!
I went with a brown Gundam marker. My first time modifying an action figure, and I made my share of mistakes, but a little rubbing alcohol and persistence paid off.
This figure really should have come with those lines painted! Considering doing the same with Scorpion, but that figure’s sculpt has finer lines.
What do you think? Painting yours? Passing on Shocker entirely?
Fun figure to pose, happy to have in my collection of Spidey Baddies!

A review of the MCU GotG 5 pack, Disney exclusive
TL;DR: Great stuff if you missed out
Gamora- Heels are never the easiest to balance. Face is stoic, I would’ve preferred slightly angry. She comes with sword and retracted sword for accessories. Both are pretty cool and retracted sword fits into a side holster well. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
Rocket- tiny figures with 18pts of articulation and two different molded blasters (I don’t think this figure could wield other weapons/large guns unfortunately). Head can only rotate, like Ursa Major. Mouth doesn’t close. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
StarLord- legs are kind of basic, jacket limits range of motion slightly. He comes with two identical blasters that port into his legs when standing in vanilla pose. He also has two head options, both are really good. I’d say the Pratt face is almost reminiscent of the GotG Game version. No jetpack accessories or sculpts- same for Walkman. (Legends Ego 2 pack reissue)
Drax the Destroyer- possibly my favorite of the lot, surprisingly. Normal articulation with pins and ab crunch. He comes with his twin identical daggers that can be stared in boot holsters. Face sculpt is pretty great for this fig. (Legends GotG Vol2 reissue)
Groot(s)- two tiny unarticulated groots are fine. Big Groot is substantial in size. His sculpt hinders articulation slightly. His face is a little derpy, a serious expression may’ve worked better. (Legends TRU exclusive reissue)
All of the sculpts and paint apps are good. Packaging is cool. Pinned-joints are going to look dated soon. When comparing this set to what Hasbro is asking for the MojoWorld 3.5 pack, I think this isn’t an insane price point. Having missed out on comic and previous iterations of this team, I’m happy to have this in my collection.
Cosmic shelf is looking much better with this addition!

I’ve been wanting to shoot the new Legends retro carded Rhino for some time. Paired him up with Miles as a nod to the amazing intro fight in the SM:MM game for PS4/5.
I cheated slightly on the one-hand balance with a little sticky tack, but still the most difficult shot I’ve gotten so far taking pics of figures. Lots of fail before getting a few decent shots- hope you all dig it

Speedball!
I’m not much of a fan of this character, but wanted to finish off the Controler BAF.
Character design is pretty basic, but articulation and head-sculpt are good. I really like the way the goggles came out.
The pins don’t bother me, but anything that isn’t pin-less will look dated in the near future.
I’m happy they continued the printed pattern around the entire figure (unlike Shiklah).
I’m not too familiar with his comic run or the New Warriors, so he’ll be added to my Spidey/street-level shelf. If he wasn’t a BOGO from Target, this character would easily have been a pass for me. I love that Hasbro puts out comic waves, but this guy NEEDED accessories. No effects elements or alternate head/hands is pretty weak.

Silk takes down Death Dealer
I don’t know a whole lot about Silk- she’s a character I haven’t come across in comics or other media. The big book of Marvel tells me she was a character introduced in 2014 (by Dan Slott) and had run-ins with Morlun..
She’s a great looking figure with super clean lines. I really like both head sculpts and paint apps. The accessories are on point for any Spider-person. Articulation is great, she is a very stable character to balance.
I would’ve passed if she wasn’t packed in with Doc Ock, Julia Carpenter is my main Spider-chick, but I’m digging this new character.
Cindy Moon is already in the MCU and rumors claim that Sony has bigger plans for her in the near future.
I don’t see Death Dealer in too many pics out there, and there could be good reason for that.
For as cool looking of a character he is, he didn’t leave much of an impression in the MCU. The figure looks pretty cool, but is lacking in articulation and accessories. I like the blade-throwing hands, but he could’ve really benefited from weapon holding hands and a “10 rings” saber. Or at least a chopping hand/fist??
Dude was on a deep discount and made the collection.
I’m pretty happy with how some of these poses came out. What do you think of this shoot? The characters?

Messing around with iOS new image cropping (and some poor photo editing in one pic).
So many of The Dude’s bald head sculpts are going to end up in storage after this set was released. Really cool they included multiple demon masks. Good accessories overall, making up for how difficult dress shoes are to balance with these suited figures.

I like the comic look for any particular Marvel figure over the MCU look, but the line is beginning to blur in 2022. That is a very good thing.
Both of these figures looked great as soon as I saw them released. Thor with the great colors. Gorr with minimal color, but great sculpt and Bale likeness.
Minor gripes: Thor’s eyes in the helm look a little off. I would consider filling in with a white or black paint pen. Stormbreaker is really thin towards the middle and bends with the weight of its head. Gorr falls on me fairly consistently with rubbery ankles.
Very solid figures, happy to add to the collection and hope that this is a harbinger of symbiotes in the MCU!

IM: “What’s the ruckus?”
PM: “Iron Man! Stand back and get ready to face your greatest fear!”
IM: “Who the hell is this cosmonaut supposed to be?” *SSHHZZAPP*
PM: “Ha! Your energy blasts don’t affect my MicroDimensional suit! Now how about THIS!” *SZZANNCT*
IM: “Guy, I didn’t fly across the country to protect the world from Tiny Temper-Tantrum Man, I’m currently pretending to be paying attention in one of my many companies’ Board Meeting.”
PM: “…what is this magic?!”
IM: “Holograms, this whole dimension might be one. Chill out Bobby, I’ll end this!”
The transparent figures are simplistic looking, but I’ve always dug them. Hologram Iron Man and AoA Iceman are no exceptions!
IM is fairly sturdy with limited articulation, I probably would’ve passed if it weren’t marked down and I wasn’t building a bear.
Ice Man is a dope sculpt, good articulation and a great addition to my limited X-Men shelf. He has fallen over multiple times during his shelf life with a foot sculpt that doesn’t lie flat, but ish happens.
Psycho Man is pretty limited in articulation and could definitely have used another hand sculpt, but what an interesting looking figure. Even with very little knowledge of the character, he looks wild, he looks Jack Kirby AF. I’m also a huge fan of the retro card, it hits the nostalgia hard.
What do you think of these figures that have relatively nothing in common?
)Toy Biz’s Hologram Armor Iron Man was my definitive favorite action figure growing up. But that armor is actually Silver Centurion, so why bother to share this?)
