Thank you note for a sweet couple of ladies who invited me to their post-Thanksgiving Friday bash. Lovely ukelele music and singing around the fire, and by the piano.
I needed a little pouch and couldn't find one that I liked so I made one, well, with help of my mom, I just can't sew a straight line in the sewing machine...
The pattern is from Urbanthreads.
Created using "Draw Bambi" book to create the pattern and hand-stitched. See if you can pick out my slight error, which I determined would be too complicated to remove and restitch.
I still have to do the writing; then clean off the removable ink and iron.

This is the back of my work. While it's not AS NEAT as I'd like, it's still not bad.
A small wall quilt made in Crazy quilt style, hand quilted and embroidered, embellished silk ribbon, embroidery floss, new and antique lace with hand beading on the black border.
Just another perspective of the embroidery done on the quilt I'm working on for my little boy. This is the night sky as it was the night he was born. Of course, the rocket is just a fun additon.
Here's what all the hand quilting did to the backside of the quilt. I had to come up with a design for the quilting. I didn't realize you had to do that when I started with this. I didn't even realize that you really ought to "quilt" a quilt. Oh yeah, this was the first time I ever made a quilt.
I never imagined, when I bought this piece of leather, that I could use it in this way.
A fantastic, hand embroidered, leather bracelet.
The rose in the middle of the bracelet have five shades of pink and it's in between two little blue flowers.
It is cut in such a way that embraces the wrist.
The width of the bracelet is 8.5cm.
You can find it in my etsy shop!!
This artist trading card (ATC) is for the "Felt Food on an ATC" swap on Swap-Bot. It's a cupcake on a plate.
It is the standard size (2 1/2" x 3 1/2") and made from wool felt (with the exception of the white frosting which is acrylic felt).
The sprinkles are done with pink and purple embroidery floss.
All the pieces and the card itself are hand-sewn using the blanket-stitch.
This card was sent to lovecupcakes.

Here is Bridget's name, in french knots and embellished with a little satin stitched baby holding the letter B. I came up with this Memorial Flag as a way to mark Bridget's grave until we put in a more permanent marker.
In Memory of Bridget Lucille (18 July 2007 - 15 Sept 2007)
Idea taken from the wall hangings above the design idea has come full circle, The wall hangings above came from the idea of Celtic brooches so appropriately these are brooches. (wearable art) Made from hand made wet and needle made felt with hand embroidery
This is a wool felt matryoshka bookmark. The dolls are made from wool felt and hand embroidered using the blanket stitch. They are about 2 1/2" and 1 1/2" high. The little doll is connected to the big doll with embroidery floss so she doesn't get lost.
The purple ribbon is the part you put in the book to mark where you left off reading.
This was made for the "Russian Doll Bookmark" swap on Swap-Bot. It was sent to Cynthia (CandyGirl) in Virginia.
A happy accident of three creative urges: one, to see the impact a mustard-colored thread makes on gray linen; two, the desire to recreate a Victorian boot image; and three, a wish to capture that last beautiful tulip from the bunch I received last week before the petals fall away.

This is one of the ornaments that I hand-embroidered this year. I try to make new ornaments each year.
The dress is made from wool felt. I used the blanket-stitch, French knots, and straight stitch to make the design and finish the edges.
The little hanger I made from wire.
