This is my first attempt at making a brooch. What do you think?

Sweet little wool felt brooch, in multiple shades of purple and blue with hand-embroidered detail, backed by a double layer of green felt leaves and a sewn on pin back. See my profile for details.

This is a set of hand-embroidered bags that I made for Valentine's Day. Filled them with little gifts for Valentine's Day.

Hand-embroidered the front design and then blanket-stitched it onto a bag that I had hand-embroidered together.

There are 6 pieces to each red bag - all the pieces I hand-embroidered together using the blanket-stitch.

Each year now I'll fill the bags with little gifts and my daughters can enjoy looking forward to what they will receive in them.

Eventually, if they are taken care of properly, they will be given to my daughters who then can use them within their own families...and share some of the memories they had of Valentine's Day when they were growing up.

Exquisite 2-sided embroidery screen from China, the goldfishes and grass are 100% hand embroidered on a translucent fabric base and the pattern on both sides are exactly same and hard to identify the front side and reverse side.

Hand stitched words - You are my favorite. Framed in a 4" hoop.

This is an interactive ACEO (Art Cards Editions Originals). (The original was gone within a couple of hours of posting it. I made another one and it is now available in my shop.) Please see my Flickr profile for the link to my shop.

The finger puppet and the card itself are all hand-embroidered. The panda is attached to the card by velcro so it can easily come off and be used...and then placed back on the card for a safe place to call "home." The bamboo leaves are sewn onto the felt card.

The card and puppet are made with 100% wool felt. Cotton floss is used to blanket-stitch the puppet as well as the card together.

This ACEO is a wonderful, sensory learning tool for children who love art; and who enjoy imaginary play and puppets.

ACEOs are the perfect size for little hands to play with and enjoy...especially those who love to experience art and learn through the sense of touch.

The girls studied about the ocean after reading a Magic Treehouse book about dolphins and the ocean. They each picked what color felt and embroidery floss they liked. I sewed them and gave them each a seahorse for Christmas.

They are homeschooled at the Kindergarten and second grade level, and hands-on unit studies seem to work well for both of them. Having toys like this that they can act out what they've read about and learned reinforces what they learn.

This Valentine's Day, celebrate the love of divine beauty that is you, with our exquisite Chikankari apparel, crafted with finesse and perfection.

This work is the 11th in a series of "Remnants", which were all inspired by very old, heavily patched and stitched textiles.

I used Kaffe Fassett shot cottons and ikat fabrics, (which were created in conjunction with Oxfam, an international charity that champions fair trade, thus helping to support the poverty-stricken weaving villages in India and Guatemala where the cloth is produced).

The threads are Sulky 12wt blendables.

My embroidered brooches are available at Yuko Higuchi’s new shop/gallery Boris Zakkaten in Omotesando, Tokyo (in-store only).

Custom order for my flicker pal! Hand crafted felt flower brooches. Each was created from hand cut felt pieces in different shapes, sizes, designs and colors. Each on has its own unique style. The colors were chosen based upon coordinating fabric yarn from the buyer. The idea is to combine these brooches with her great fabric purses and bags.

Dyed and stained muslin.

Hand stitched and embroidered.

This was for "Make Me a Menagerie" swap on Swap-Bot. The person I sent this to (kizmet) noted different animals she liked, and the zebra was one of them.

This wool felt zebra stands about 3 inches tall. It has 4 legs and can stand on its own.

Saw an image on Flickr of a stuffed zebra, but it appeared to have only two legs and unable to stand on its own. Printed the picture and then created a pattern so this one would stand up.

The pattern is now available in my shop. Please see my profile for the link.

* First bag in a new series of shoulderbags.

This bag is made out of a vintage fabric from the 1950's, it is lined and has a zippered pocket inside. The front is hand embroidered after a picture from a 1951 French fashion magazine.

The bag is one out of a limited edition of three identical bags (as far as handmade and hand-embroidered bags can be indentical).
