"In our constant course, we should be able to calm down and calm the mind a little. The mind and thoughts cannot be turned off because they are like a river."

Sometimes you need to look behind yourself before pressing the shutter button! The former Holy Trinity Church which was rededicated on the 13th May 2017 and is now Hull Minster. Hull, East Yorkshire, England.
'Metora' in Greek means 'suspended'. There are 6 Greek Christian orthodox monasteries located there on the tops of steep rocks in indescribably beautiful landscape. We've seen quite many places around the Globe - this one is very special.

Meteora - Monastero della Sacra Trinità
Meteora - Aghia Triada Monastery (Holy Trinity)
Monastero della Sacra Trinità, situato in cima ad uno strapiombo, fu edificato nel 1475 e ristrutturato nel 1684, nel 1689, poi nel 1692 e ancora nel 1741.
Nel 2015 vi risiedevano quattro monaci.
The Monastery of the Holy Trinity is on top of the cliffs. It was built in 1475 and was remodeled in 1684, 1689, 1692, 1741. There were four monks in residence in 2015.
This black-and-white photograph captures an ancient stone engraving of the Eye of Providence within a radiant triangle. Common in Christian iconography, the symbol represents divine omniscience and the Holy Trinity. The weathered surface and cracked masonry evoke a sense of time’s passage, while the surrounding shadows enhance the solemn, almost sacred atmosphere. Found in the old cemetery beside Oberhofenkirche in Goeppingen, this emblem serves as a reminder of faith, vigilance, and the eternal watchfulness of the divine.
Beyond The Mist....
This is one of those photos that you find in your archives; that you obviously missed when you were initially editing and upon a second look, found it to be a hidden gem.
I do this once in a while, I pour over those many unedited shots in my archives and play with them till I find something special.
This shot from a hike to Hilton Falls is one of those shots. overlooked but not forgotten.
Thank you for visiting for marking my photo as a favourite and for the kind comments,

Holy Trinity Collegiate Church and the Guardhouse, viewed from the battlements of Tattershall Castle, Lincolnshire.
This church located at the 600 m high Glasberg near Waldsassen is one of the most peculiar churches in Germany. It is a Baroque style, central-plan building, designed by the famous Georg Dientzenhofer and was erected in 1685-1689. The Holy Trinity is depicted as an architectural symbol. In all components the number three dominates. In the exterior, the triad is symbolized in the three towers and the three roofers with onion caps.

A high-key and high dynamic range shot into the sun of two monasteries in snow-capped Meteora, Greece. The Varlaam abbey (monastery) is viewed in the foreground; the Roussanou nunnery is seen below right, farther away. Light snow has fallen and blanketed the extreme terrain all around.
The Varlaam monastery was built in 1517-1518 on a 1,808 ft high (551 m) rock. The Roussanou (St. Barbara's) monastery was built in c.1528 on an extremely precipitous rock formation (1,588 ft or 484 n high) with very limited space available on its plateau.
Meteora is the name of the group comprising many impressive and lofty rock formations: The height of the sandstone megaliths ranges between 1,000-2,067 ft (300-630 m). The rock masses were formed 60 million years ago, are geologically unique and listed in UNESCO world heritage sites.
A site location for 007's "For Your Eyes Only". It is a Greek Orthodox monastery perches high up on a sandstone precipice. The only way to get up to the monastery in the old days is by using a winch. Now one can get on top by a foot track, but quite laborious.
