my heart bleeds gold. if you were to take my life right now you'd be a millionaire. the threads that sew my entire being together are worth a fortune. i have let everything i've become overtake me and make me happy and worthy of all and any things good. i am sick of telling you yes when i really mean no. i am sick of taking chances i never wanted to take. i am all for living on the wild side, but not if it endangers what i've longed for for so, so long. stop breathing down my neck. get your face out of mine. leave me be. who cares if i let my hair down and blow in the wind? who cares if i run barefoot at three a.m. through someone's woods i don't even know? i don't care. this is the chance i wanted to take all along. not those petty risks you were shoving down my throat. if i jump in the air laughing in the breeze you can be standing there watching if you want. you can enjoy the moment and join me if you desire! but if you're not there, i don't care. i really don't.

did i have a photoshoot with me, myself and i this morning at 7am during sunrise? i think so :) i actually have had an interesting sleeping pattern today..

fell asleep at 2am.

woke up at 5am.

grabbed my camera and took photos outside at 7am.

ate mcdonalds pancakes at 8:30am.

fell back asleep on my couch while watching fresh prince of bel-aire at 10am.

woke up for a final time at 12:30pm.

nobody probably read that, but i felt like typing it out to share anyways. i feel accomplished!

i hate my face in this shot but i guess i'll have to get over it eh?! ahaha. :)

The crowd for a photo, the excitement of a henhouse of children squawking for a touch of madness. This little one who has only seen himself on the sly, in his mother's mirror as precious as it has cracks, or sometimes in the reflection of his big brother's eye, the rare moments when the light ready. He has already seen some portraits of the little ones in his gang when a few vazahas passed by. This time, it's his turn! He will finally be able to admire his image, he wants it so much, his brothers in misfortune were so beautiful. The opportunity is too good, he concentrates for a moment, then takes the posture that seems most serious to him. The improbable grimace created for the occasion will remain frozen forever, just like the bursts of laughter of the other children, whose sharp high notes pierce his eardrums and make his heart bleed.

“So, what do you go for in a girl?”

He crows, lifting a lager to his lips

Gestures where his mate sits

Downs his glass

“He prefers tits

I prefer *ss.

What do you go for in a girl?”

I don’t feel comfortable

The air left the room a long time ago

All eyes are on me

Well, if you must know

I want a girl who reads

Yeah. Reads.

I’m not trying to call you a chauvinist

Cos I know you’re not alone in this

but…

I want a girl who reads

Who needs the written word

& uses the added vocabulary

She gleans from novels and poetry

To hold lively conversation

In a range of social situations

I want a girl who reads

Whose heart bleeds at the words of Graham Greene

Or even Heat magazine

Who’ll tie back her hair while reading Jane Eyre

and goes cover to cover with each Waterstones three for two offer

but I want a girl who doesn’t stop there

I want a girl who reads

Who feeds her addiction for fiction

With unusual poems and plays

That she hunts out in crooked bookshops for days and days and days

She’ll sit addicted at breakfast, soaking up the back of the cornflakes box

And the information she gets from what she reads makes her a total fox

Cos she’s interesting & unique

& her theories make me go weak at the knees

I want a girl who reads

A girl whose eyes will analyse

The menu over dinner

Who’ll use what she learns to kick my ass in arguments

so she always ends the winner

But she’ll still be sweet and she’ll still be flirty

Cos she loves the classics and the classics are dirty

So late at night she’d always have me in a stupor

As she paraphrases the raunchier moments from the works of Jilly Cooper

See, some guys prefer *sses

Some prefer tits

And I’m not saying that I don’t like those bits

But what’s more important

What supercedes

For me

Is a girl a with passion, wit and dreams

So I want a girl who reads.

Inspired by a song from the finnish band Shamrain. I couldn't find the song for you to hear, but these are the lyrics:

-Black November-

Within this quiet room

Sleep is only an illusion

Silence falls over the roof

Black november swallows all the light

Behind dazed eyes

My heart bleeds

Behind dazed eyes

I can't feel anymore

within this inert season

Painful memories take hold

Shadows wind in each other

Silent figures on the wall

Behind dazed eyes

My heart bleeds

Behind dazed eyes

I can't feel anymore

Smiling in an old photograph

I don't remember how that felt

A face of a stranger

Smiling in an old photograph

Am i still here?

Bleeding Hearts growing in our backyard.

I can't close my eyes

I'd climb on top a mountain

While your at home counting

Other guys and other girls

Other things, that confuse my world

I just want some time with you

Just me and you, alone with you

I'll always be there for you

You are all I need

You pierce me with arrows

Making my soul, heart bleed

Whenever I try to say that I love you

I get stuck on my words

And I fall right back down, yeah

I just wanna tell you that I love you

I love you but the words come out wrong.

When I was staying in Yangshuo at the Holland Inn which was an old farmers house turned into a mini hotel I rented a bike and drove for 4 hrs. I am not sure how I made it back but lets just say 2 weeks later my ass is still killing me. The one thing I noticed while biking on a dirt raod along the river was the amount of chinese tourists on the river on bamboo rafts. It was inane where I could not even take pictures as I felt it was ugly, I can also imagine the strain on the river with so many boats and people on it everyday!!! When I went there 12 years ago everything was so pure and clean but today my heart bleeds for this natural beauty of land. I was lucky to get couple of shots with no tourists on the water from the Dragon Bridge, Yangshuo.

The Soap Opera Effect is the result of a default setting on modern TVs that creates and interpolates additional frames in between the existing ones in order to produce a sharp and crisp image of the action taking place on screen. From the way people talk about it, you might think the Soap Opera Effect is some sort of bug, but it’s actually a purpose-built feature found in many modern TVs. It goes by many names, as we’ll detail later, but the technology behind it is known as video interpolation, or more commonly, motion smoothing. A feature deliberately added to most modern LCD/LED TVs, it arose as a way to solve a problem, not create one.

Unlike older CRT and plasma TVs, LCD displays have problems with motion blurring. Some are more sensitive to it than others, but when an LCD TV has to display fast motion — quick-moving sports or video games, for example — the blur can be excessive, obscuring image detail. To help combat this problem, TV manufacturers started using displays with higher refresh rates, moving from the native 60Hz refresh rate used in older TVs to more modern 120Hz panels.

Since most sources of video — including broadcast and streaming — aren’t delivered at this frame rate, though, motion smoothing came along as a way to “fake” a higher frame rate by inserting images in between the actual 30 or 60 frames per second that come from your cable box, game console, or antenna. These new images are created when your TV analyzes the picture and digitally guesses at what new images could be inserted. This frame guessing game is even used on some OLED TVs.

Homemade Insecticidal Soap Recipe

The simplest insecticidal soap is nothing more than a 2% soap solution. To make this at home, you will need:

Sprayer: Any clean spray bottle or garden sprayer will work fine for spraying insecticidal soap. Make sure the sprayer or bottle hasn’t been used for herbicides.

Pure Soap: Use a pure liquid soap, such as Castile, or all-natural soap. The active ingredient in insecticidal soap comes from the fatty acids in animal fat or vegetable oil, so it’s important to use the real thing. Don’t use detergents (which aren’t actually soaps), dish soaps, or any products with degreasers, skin moisturizers, or synthetic chemicals. Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap is usually pretty easy to find in stores, or check your local natural-foods store for other options.

Pure Water: Tap water is fine for making insecticidal soap. If you have hard water, you may want to use bottled water to prevent soap scum from building up on your plants.

To make homemade 2% insecticidal soap, mix together:

5 tablespoons soap to 1 gallon of water

OR

1 heavy tablespoon soap to 1 quart of water

Containers of garlic, pepper, vinegar, and cooking oil

Other ingredients that can be added to homemade insecticidal soap

Homemade Insecticidal Soap Recipe Variations

Like any other home remedy, there are as many variations on this recipe as there are gardeners! You can also try:

Diluted Solution: If the spray causes damage or burns your plant foliage, cut the amount of soap in half and try a 1% solution. This is the concentration usually found in commercial sprays. The lighter solution might be less effective but is gentler on plants.

Cooking Oil: To help the solution stick a little longer, add two tablespoons of light cooking oil (such as corn, canola, olive, or safflower) per gallon of water to the mix.

Vinegar: To make a spray that also targets powdery mildew, add a teaspoon of cider vinegar per gallon of water to the mix.

Garlic or Pepper: To help repel chewing insects, add a teaspoon of ground red pepper and/or garlic per gallon of water to the mix.

Bar Soap: For a less-exact recipe, drop a bar of pure soap (such as organic bar soap or Ivory) into a gallon of water and leave it overnight. Remove the bar and shake well before spraying.

Reply

AvatarJulie July 9, 2014 at 3:20 pm

You don’t have to rinse off insecticidal soap, but it’s not a bad idea. The solution is only effective when it’s wet, anyway. Some plants (hawthorns, plums, cherries, and some tomato varieties, to name a few) are sensitive to insecticidal soap, especially if it’s overly concentrated or made with harsh soap. To reduce or prevent damage to plants, it wouldn’t hurt to rinse it off a few hours later, after it’s good and dry.

My roommate left a pair of floating oil candles on the center deck post on my patio. It rained really hard last night and coated my plants with lamp oil.

What can I use to clean the oil off my plants? My bonsai was directly underneath the oil shower, so all of it is soaked in oil. The leaves, trunk, roots, soil-every part of it is covered. Also, I need to wash the oil off my patio, since it is now flammable. The patio is surrounded by perennial plants that I want to keep alive. My bonsai has been rendered waterproof.

Help!

I stumbled upon this website and found that I was on the right track.

I have a problem with fire ants. As a maker of hot salsa , I decided to try this to the ants. I threw about 4 or 5 hot peppers in the blender along with vinegar and dish soap. I strained the ingredients into a measuring cup and placed it into a spray bottle. I then got this idea about adding some vegetable oil to the mix and shook it well, to emulsify it. I figured that the hot pepper would stay longer on the ants because of the oil. I then went out to the ant nest and dug around to agitate those little b&*&##S and when they came streaming out I sprayed them and the ground, and little eggs too. The next day I came back looking for another fight only to discover that they were not there. I have done this on two nest. I will video tape the next one.

No special procedure, you just mix the ingredients together.

Reply

AvatarRob Reiman February 12, 2015 at 11:51 am

Vince – If you are using cold pressed pure neem oil, I recommend using 1 tsp of liquid soap per 2.5 ounce of neem. Mix these two ingredients together BEFORE adding to WARM (or very warm) water. The quantity of water depends on the concentration you are attempting to achieve.

AvatarPhil S June 12, 2015 at 4:01 am

If you are going to use natural soap i.e. dervived from fat and caustic soda (saponification) and live in a hard water area, you are going to have problems with the soap reacting with the dissolved calcium (scum) – use clean rainwater straight off the roof which will be calcium-free, assuming that it is not a new roof with concrete tiles – this is the closest you will get to deionised water. Alternatively, get some EDTA (ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid, disodium form, commercially known as Versene and others) and mix a small amount, say a teaspoon to 1-litre, before you add the soap – you should get a nice clear soap solution.

If you are not sure if your house mains water is hard or soft, get a small glass jar with a lid, half fill with tap water and flake in some soap. Shake well – soft water will give a good permanent lather and a clear solution, hard water will take a lot more soap flakes, will form scum and will not be a clear solution.

This is what i do for ‘MITES’ mainly and works for any other little black insect that eat on top or bottom side of the leaves which suck the life of your plants, trees, flowers ect..:

Use any liquid soap or dish washing soap that is as close to unscented as possible. Just smell it, and make sure it does not have a heavy smell, if scented look for “EDTA” – (ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid) in the ingredients. Make sure there is NO CREAM, or type of HAND MOISTURIZER in the ingredient… then buy any ordinary PURE SOAP with FATTY ACIDS and OILS in the ingredients.

1.) 5 liters of water to 5 not over-filled teaspoons of liquid soap.

2.) Drop a bar of pure soap in the water and let it sit over-night.

3.) Shake well and spray.. NO MORE MITES!!!!!

4.) Or you can mix all the other ingredients for the other types of insects.

Keep in mind that solution only works while “WET”, and is recommended to wash off the soap when plants, trees, ect.. dries off, … it will not harm but will leave a soapy taste if its edible

Hi,

I have one of those garden sprayers that you hook up to a hose. Using canola oil, dawn & water to control Aphids on my Crepe Myrtle, weeping something & hibiscus. Wondering how much of this combination to use in the sprayer since it will be diluted with hose water. Thanks so much.

I had aphids on my hibiscus tree. I used dawn, water and vegtable oil to spray all the leaves. I aphids are gone but where there are buds where new leaves are coming, they are dropping off before they open up. The leaves are shiny from the oil, should I spray it off with water? I never had a problem with the tiny new bud of a leaf fall off. thank you so much.

Thanks for the homemade bug spray recipe with variations, I’ve had the best results adding both the garlic and red pepper. Thanks also for explaining why I was getting a lot of soap scum when I used the Dr. Bronners soap! I was so dissapointed when I tried mixing the Dr. Bronners and ended up with a bunch of soap scum! From now on I’ll use deionized water or hopefully get some rainwater to use instead of the rock hard water that comes out of my homes pipes.

There are many different scents and versions of the Dr Bronner’s Castile soap that you recommended. Does it matter which one you use in the insecticidal recipe? I saw the lavender pictured above, is that the best one to use? Thanks so much for your help!!

Even I have the leaves of my tomato and Marigold plants turn white and ultimately dry up because of these flies. Heart bleeds to see so many marigold buds not able to bloom into flowers because of leaves drying up. I have tried neem+detergent sprays a few times, but does not seem to help. Do not want to use any chemicals. What other options do I have?

I dip all plants I buy ..pot and all..in a bucket of water with a hefty squirt of Dawn dishwashing soap. This has stopped white flies and aphids that seem to have been in the soil at the green house. I also save egg shells all winter and crumble them and put them around my cabbages and melons and this stops slugs and cut worms.

I’m growing cherry tomatoes for the first time, and something’s eating the leaves( not the entire leaf, but making holes). Do I spray the leaves, or the stems and tomatoes also? They’re now small and still green?thank you!

This is a great community.I’m new at this and would love to grow more of my own veggies, for cost and health reasons.

I used the Dawn dishwashing liquid and water solution but did not rinse the leaves. They are now brown ,should I cut some of them back? btw, I also dusted cayenne pepper on the tomatoes themselves. No more bugs eating them. But afraid b/c the leaves are now brown.

Thanks!

Fungus gnats should be treated with a powdering of diatomaceous earth, work it in the top inch or two of soil. Fungus gnat larvae live in the soil eating fungus and roots so this is where you should target them. You can also follow up with Neem oil soil drench, usually 3-4 tbs per gallon. Just be aware the diatomaceous earth should fix your problem. Keep in mind you “may be” overwatering, if you allow the top couple of inches of soil to dry between waterings will drastically reduce fungus gnats naturally.

as for the person who had bad chiggers; I have found that by dusting a little sulphur on your pants from the knees down before you walk into the yard will remedy the problem. Also, chiggers take a while to bite, so if you come inside, take your pants off in the tub and scrub your legs with dry or wet towel, you will be removing 90% of the chiggers. Put the used towels in wash, or in dryer for a while.

I had not been successful with a cooking apple tree for three years (it is 3 metres tall and nearly as much spread width). I was told to look for mealy bugs and scaly mite. On finding the cottonwool like cluster here and there I thought I would try brushing with heater paraffin on the infected areas which worked so well that this year the tree was full of blossom and producing many apples. I might have been stupid by some peoples thoughts but for the first time many cookers are forming on my tree.

Here is what I do to cure all pest problems in potting soil. When you buy new potting soil it will have pests in it. All brands do. Its unavoidable. So I bake it. At 350 degrees for at least 20 min. Watch carefully because some potting mixes can catch fire though I’ve never had that happen to any of mine. Also when buying new house plants be sure to remove them from their soil and rinse their roots off very well. Add the soil they came in to the soil you bake. Re pot them in the baked soil after it has completely cooled. Spray the plants themselves with Dr. Bonners castile soap. 1 tablespoon per quart of water. If over time you see your plants looking weak, not growing etc… look closely at them and their soil through a magnifying glass. Scratch the soil and watch to see any insect movement. If any are detected first try a soil drench with the soap mixture. Wait for the soil to dry and watch again for pests. If the soap mixture does not get rid of them then remove them, spray their roots then rinse then replant in fresh baked potting soil. This is the only true way of killing pests in your soil. Also I spray my house plants at least once a month with the Castile soap mixture. Be sure to keep them out of the sun till they completely dry.

“Use a pure liquid soap, such as Castile, or all-natural soap. The active ingredient in insecticidal soap comes from the fatty acids in animal fat or vegetable oil, so it’s important to use the real thing. Don’t use detergents (which aren’t actually soaps)….or….synthetic chemicals.”

It’s important to use the real thing?

Why? Is there a genuine chemical reason to do so, or is this just some advice from a hippie gardner? This is obviously not a scholarly article because of the phrase “synthetic chemicals”

Reply

Avataranon August 25, 2017 at 11:38 am

Fatty acid insecticide worked against the aphid infestation on my chilli plant. Had to give it a couple of good dousings, and the second time put paper over the soil. That has ended up a bit greasy and seems to have the slightest layer of mould loving it.

I bought a synthetic aphid spray and they just shrugged that off, like the bottle warned they might. Another bottle, with a different ingredient, also said about immunity so I didn’t even buy it. But a fatty acid spray worked, and the plant’s even flowering again.

A dear friend of mine back home in Manila is going through a very tough time right now. I feel so helpless being thousands of miles away from her, and I can only wish that I could pick her up and take her out to dinner and talk, cry or laugh about everything, just like the good old days.

My heart bleeds for her. I can't go into details, but all I can say is that I understand what she's going through. I understand how she feels like she's hit a dead end. A lot of people back home are in a similar situation, but that doesn't mean it's okay to feel that way.

I just hope and pray that my friend learns to love and respect herself first before completely giving her entire self to someone who clearly doesn't. She doesn't know how amazing of a person she is, and I just hope she sees it soon.

Do you know.

Rain hurts?

It scratches skin...

And makes hearts bleed...

"The Dogs of War are loose in Europe, and a nice noise they are making! It was started by a Dachshund that is thought to have gone made — though there was so much method in his madness that this is doubtful. [NOTE FOR THE IGNORANT: The German for Dog is Hund. The English for German is Hun. Dachshund means badger-dog — and he is sometime more badgered than he likes.] Mated with the Dachshund, for better or for worse, was an Austrian Mongrel. By the fine unwritten law of Dogdom big dogs never attack little dogs. There are, however, scallywags in every community, and, egged on by the Dachshund for private ends, the Mongrel started bullying a little Servian. And the fat was in the fire, for the little Servian had a great big friend in the form of a Russian Bear, and he stood up for his pal. And that was what the Dachshund wanted. He hoped that a big row would ensue, and in the confusion he intended to steal a bone or two that he had his eye on for some time. He got what he wanted — and a little more. For the Russian Bear had friends too. There was a very game little Belgian Griffon, and there was a great big French Poodle, a smart dandified fellow, and there was a Bulldog. Rather a sleepy chap this last one, and the Dachshund despised him because he was not always yapping and snaring. But the Bulldog has a habit of sleeping with one eye open, and, when he is roused, he grips and won’t let go.

The Dachshund started by attacking the Belgian Griffon, as being the smallest, and mauled the poor creature cruelly, but was quite unable to kill her. And he was mistaken as to the others. He found that the dandified Poodle could fight, and that the Bulldog had not lost the knack of not lettinggo, and that Russia, after all, was a Rusher, and soon the Bear idea made the Dachshund tremble. And even the little Servian gave the Austrian Mongrel some nasty bites, and so did a neighbour of his named Monty.

The Dachshund now began to look round for friends, but they seemed strangely scarce. He had relied on an Italian Greyhound, a thoroughbred, named Italia, but Italia dissembled her love in the strangest way, and asserted that War was a luxury which she could not afford just now. All the same Italia loaded her gun, and who knows but what it may go off and whom it may go off and, whom it may hit — for accidents will happen in the best regulated families. The Dachshund, to his annoyance, found only one friend, and that was a dog of Constantinople. The Dogs of Constantinople are quite well known for being fond of offal.

Meanwhile the rest of the European Happy Family looked on, and who shall say how the row will spread? There’s the Greek with his knife ready to take a slice of Turkey; there are the Balkans determined not to be baulked of their own little ambtions; there’s the Spaniard fond of Bull fighting so long as he is not a John Bull; there’s the Portugee just spoiling for a scrap; there’s the Swiss suffering from cold feet; there’s the Dutchman, who keeps smiling with difficulty — still some nice meaty bones may come his way, and in any event he may be relied upon to play the game and not to be a Double Dutchman. [ANOTHER NOTE FOR THE IGNORANT:– Holland used to be known as a low lying country, but this title has now been filched by Germany] And, up North, the Norwegian, the Swede, and the great Dane all have their eyes well skinned.

All this, and more, may be seen depicted above. Search well and you may find many things. But not Peace. Peace has gone to the Dogs for the present — until a satisfactory muzzle has been found for that Dachshund. Meanwhile the Dachshund’s heart bleeds for Belgium — and his nose for Great Britain."

Please, I didn't want to hurt you with my words but, my love, I had. No other way. Please, I must have sent you flowers in a lace but, my love, forget. It was so sad. I really tried to stay with you. I really tried to be your best friend. I fought this new desire. My mind was so confused. If only you had loved me to escape from all this pain. My heart bleeds for you.

Listen, take your time. Your spell is strong and hard to break. I swim so far. I leave with the tide. I want a blue ocean. I had to tell "forget the past, my time".

This small puppy was in the same cage as the puppy you've seen in this picture. They were both extremely sweet and my heart bleeds when I think that such great animals end up in animal shelter on in the streets.

Animals in the shelter, no matter if we talk about dogs or cats, share one thing in common - the look in their eyes and an extremely strong need of intimacy with a human being. These eyes do talk - you can read all kinds of different stories and feelings from them. You can see how does it feel to be abandoned, thrown out in the streets or left in the woods tied to a tree with a thick rope...

As my friend, Claire, said - people should take more responsibility for what they tame... it would be an improvement.

I've talked to my friend, who arranged my visit to the shelter (she works there as an volunteer) and she said that both these puppies have new homes already. That's a really great news. I just hope that they went to some responsible people who will treat them like true friends and real companion, not a seasonal toy...

Cruise taking the time to smell the bleeding hearts in my garden. Moments after this shot I had to yell to leave it... he decided to pull on the leaf to give it a taste. Silly boy! This guy just melts my heart :-) I used a little effect here to give the wood and his coat a little texture or something different ;-)

PAIN

Is this my entity?

The darkness in my soul,

That controls all my thoughts.

My heart bleeds

With a sadness that only I know,

That only I can feel.

The darkness in which my soul lies,

Pulls me like a moth to a flame.

My crimson blood boiling inside me

The words I cannot speak.

I can breathe no more.

I can’t control the pain,

Resonating from the dark glow

Of my humanity. . .

Little Bo-peep fell fast asleep, and dreamt she heard them bleating; but when she awoke, she found it a joke, for they were still a-fleeting. "Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep,

And can't tell where to find them;

Leave them alone,

And they'll come home,

Wagging their tails behind them.

Little Bo Peep fell fast asleep,

And dreamt she heard them bleating;

But when she awoke,

She found it a joke,

For they were still a-fleeting.

Then up she took her little crook,

Determined her to find them;

But it made her heart bleed,

It happened one day, as Bo Peep did stray,

Into a meadow hard by;

There she espied,

All hung on a tree to dry.

She heaved a sigh and wiped her eye,

And over the hillocks went rambling;

And tried what she could,

As a shepherdess should,

To tack each again to its lambkin."

The exact origin is uncertain, but Little Bo Peep can be traced back at least as far as the Victorian era. At least one bookmark from Victorian era is illustrated with Little Bo Peep, so the origin may be even earlier than this.

In Sussex, people claim it is a smuggling tale from the town of St. Leonards (Part of the Hastings conurbation). One of the Martello Towers, known informally as Bo Peep was used to house the customs men and sometimes to imprison the smugglers themselves.

The Bo Peep public house (which still stands) is said to have been used by smugglers. The extra verses of the rhyme make more sense in this context than if it is really about a shepherdess.

Little Bo Peep herself refers to the customs men, the sheep are the smugglers and the tails are the contraband (probably barrels of rum and/or brandy). It was known for smugglers to abandon their contraband if they heard the customs men were onto them.

The second verse probably refers to the fact that, in local communities, smugglers were more liked by the locals than the customs men and false trails were often set.

So much better ON WHITE

Beholding the Appearance of God in His Judgment and Chastisement

💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭

The utterance of God continues, and He employs various methods and perspectives to admonish us what to do and express His heart’s voice. His words carry life power, and show us the way we should walk, and allow us to understand what the truth is. We start to be drawn to His words, we begin to focus on the tone and manner of His speaking, and subconsciously begin to take an interest in the heart’s voice of this unremarkable person. He makes painstaking efforts for us, loses sleep and appetite for us, weeps for us, sighs for us, groans in sickness for us, suffers humiliation for the sake of our destination and salvation, and His heart bleeds and sheds tears for our numbness and rebelliousness. Such being and possessions of His are beyond an ordinary person, and cannot be possessed or attained by any of the corrupted. He has tolerance and patience possessed by no ordinary person, and His love is not possessed by any created being. No one apart from Him can know all of our thoughts, or have such a grasp of our nature and substance, or judge the rebelliousness and corruption of mankind, or speak to us and work among us like this on behalf of the God of heaven. No one except for Him can possess the authority, wisdom, and dignity of God; the disposition of God and what He has and is are issued forth, in their entirety, from Him. No one apart from Him can show us the way and bring us light. No one apart from Him can reveal the mysteries God has not disclosed from creation until today. No one apart from Him can save us from Satan’s bondage and our corrupt disposition. He represents God, and expresses the heart’s voice of God, the exhortations of God, and the words of judgment of God toward all mankind. He has begun a new age, a new era, and brought a new heaven and earth, new work, and He has brought us hope, and ended the life we led in vagueness, and allowed us to fully behold the path of salvation. He has conquered our whole being, and gained our hearts. From that moment onward, our minds become conscious, and our spirits seem to be revived: This ordinary, insignificant person, who lives among us and has long been rejected by us—is He not the Lord Jesus, who is ever in our thoughts, and whom we long for night and day? It is He! It’s really Him! He is our God! He is the truth, the way, and the life! He has allowed us to live again, to see the light, and has stopped our hearts from wandering. We have returned to the home of God, we have returned before His throne, we are face-to-face with Him, we have witnessed His countenance, and have seen the road ahead. At the time, our hearts have been completely conquered by Him; we no longer doubt who He is, and no longer oppose His work and word, and we fall down, completely, before Him. We wish for nothing except to follow the footprints of God for the rest of our lives, and to be made perfect by Him, and to repay His grace, and repay His love for us, and to obey His orchestrations and arrangements, and to cooperate with His work, and to do everything we can to complete what He entrusts to us.

Ancient Sardinian Cultural Tradition: Mamuthones, Where Monsters Roam The Streets (Festively!)

A lot of our cultures are built off of ancient pagan rituals presented in different religions dating back to more than 2,000 years old; the monsters of Italy being among the topics to discuss. Sardinia’s ancient Mamuthones are a traditional mask worn for Sardinia’s eye-catching carnival. Though these customs are much more than getting dressed, it is a very personal metamorphosis for every participant.

These characters dress in different colored thick sheep hair, black masks, and will gladly carry the weight of 60 pounds of cattle bells on their body (to scare away evil spirits) despite the lack of oxygen while on their journey of honor. Many people are not allowed to witness the dressing, but when they do, they will see men circling a bonfire while strapping bells on their back. After the chimes of the bells sound how they wish, the mask is finally put on. There is a big difference for these unique European individuals when it comes to simply being Mamuthones and actually becoming one.

These peculiar creatures are not the only character in this festival, there is another known as “Issohadore,” who are in charge of the rituals and the Mamuthones in it. The Issohadores wears a bright red waistcoat, a colorful headdress, white mask, white shirt/trousers, gold buttons, shawl, leather boots, and a belt of bronze bells. They are to protect their beasts from all harm or evil, carrying rope lassos known as sohas, to also wrangle a pretty women’s interest. These characters complement each other, as the Mamuthones do not interact with the crowd with slow, heavy steps and the Issohadores skips across the road vivaciously.

The “nightmares” will begin their showings in a town known as Mamoiada or Ottana, Italy on every seventeenth of January, which is the saint day of Sant’Antonio Abate, while dozens of bonfires blaze as the spiritual individuals dance all night long. The saint is meant to be the protector of animals and fire, meaning the bonfires that are lit each year is meant to resemble purification and renewal for the upcoming seasons. At the end of the parade, everyone returns to undress and become men again. At this time, anyone is welcomed to join, and the wine begins to flow.

No one really knows of a Mamuthones origin. They have existed in Mamoiada for so long that people believe the town took the name itself. These individuals full-hearted bleed “born to be Mamuthones.” It is considered a collective soul for Sardinia, especially since this festival occurs more than once throughout the year. One of the many interpretations of this carnival is the pace of the Mamuthones being seen as a pre-christian dance in sport of the vegetation God, Dionysus, who dies in winter and is reborn in spring to bring rain and fertility. Another belief is that the Mamuthones are an animal metaphor with bells showing a bond between the shepherd and animal, their shared destiny of field working, and mountain roaming. Another example that is among the popular is that the parade exemplifies what came of Sardinia’s history, with the bells being the domination of land, the Issohadores being the exotic invaders, while the Mamuthones are the Sardinian prisoners shaking their bells of pain and suffering.

The locals are content with their Mamuthones continuing on their tradition. Every ancient parade still lives on in many museums which hold Sardinia’s best costumes or masks, statues, and even frescoes on walls. Though, it can be a little terrifying to see these costumes while exploring the monolithic stones of the Sardinian people on the holiday’s off season, but it is otherworldly when you see the event in person.

Short video about this project: artography project 2013

This project combines my love for painting and my photography. I will use models as a canvas. The artwork will only exist as long as it takes the model to wash off. I use the sessions as an opportunity to connect with the people i photograph and form bonds that go beyond a simple 'shoot'. Every artwork will be unique, like the person who displays it.

create, connect, let go

I hope to have an exhibition when i am done with it.

Everytime you put this mask on your face

A little piece of your soul dies away

The figure in the mirror's not me

A different reality

Just a picture that you see

From my true self, I flee

I change myself to fit the needs

During this mutation my heart bleeds

Trying to adjust to society

Not anymore, I want to be free

Figure in the mirror's not me

A different reality

It's just a picture that you see

From my true self, I do flee.

Isak Danielson - Power

I still look at you with eyes that want you

When you move, you make my oceans move too

If I hear my name, I will run your way

Can we say that we love each other

Can we play like there ain't no other

If I hear my name, I will run your way

It's my desire that you feed

You know just what I need

You got power

Power

You got power over me

I give my all now, can't you see

Why wont you set me free ?

You got power

Power

You got power over me

I was lost until I find me in you

I saw a side of me that I was scared to

But now I hear my name and I'm running your way

All I feel is I get closer to you

It's that desire to move like you do

So now I hear my name and I'm running your way hey

I am ready now (If you ready now)

(If you ready now)

(If you ready now)

(If you ready now)

(If you ready now)

It's my desire that you feed

You know just what I need

You got power (power)

Power (power)

You got power over me

I give my all know, can't you see

Why wont you set me free ?

You got power (power)

Power (power)

You got power over me

You're the one that seduced me

Lured me in with your beauty

Now I know that you used me

(I'm ready now)

(I'm ready now)

All you did was confuse me

You're not longer what I need

Touch me slow, feel my heart bleed

(I'm ready now)

I'm ready now

View On Black

Once upon a time, there lived in a great kingdom a beautiful princess named Flower. Princess Flower was indeed gorgeous but she was also very vain. People came from everywhere to admire her, and all the fine gentlemen in the kingdom begged for her hand in marriage. The princess scoffed at all of them!

One young man cleverly decided that showering the princess with expensive gifts would win her heart and hand in matrimony. The first gift he brought to the palace was a pair of pink bunnies but the princess just laughed at him. He was sad but not deterred for surely an even better present would win her heart and hand in matrimony! He traveled the world and back to bring her a pair of exquisite, rare oriental slippers, but this in addition, she rebuffed.

This broke the man’s heart and he promptly drew his dagger, and plunged it through his heart (ouch)!

The princess realizing that she really did love him after all fell to her knees sobbing. To this day, her heart bleeds for him.

Its The End Of The World As We Know It

R.E.M

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane

And Lenny Bruce is not afraid

Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn

World serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs.

Feed it off an aux speak, grunt

No strength the ladder starts to clatter with the fear, fight down height.

Wire in a fire, representing seven games with a government for hire and a combat site.

Left of West and coming in a hurry with the furies breathing down your neck.

Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered crop.

Look at that low playing! Fine then.

Uh oh, overflow, population, common food, but it'll do.

Save yourself, serve yourself.

World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed.

Dummy with the rapture and the reverent in the right - right.

You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light,

Feeling pretty psyched.

It's the end of the world as we know it.

It's the end of the world as we know it.

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
