If you haven't seen "The Mandalorian," I am dressed as a major spoiler alert. If you have, you know who I am.
Happy Halloween!! 🎃 👻
Self-portrait lit with one speedlight and softbox, off camera.
Is it safe to fly when it's snowing?
Before taking off, the plane can accumulate ice or snow on the wings. To avoid this, a viscous solution based on hot water and alcohol is applied that keeps the fuselage clean for about 20 minutes. Once in the air, snow and cold are not a problem, as airplanes take advantage of the heat from the engines to dissolve the accumulation of ice on the surface. In addition, they also have windshield wipers to keep the front windows in good condition, which as if that were not enough, are made up of four layers joined together by a thin gold film that heats them by electricity.
You have to fly low if it starts to snow ... but be careful with mountains and hills.
After the Battle of Hoth, the frozen planet is again inhabited by smugglers and bounty hunters as a hideout. These last ones, led by the armorer, in their search for silence, find on the planet Hoth a perfect place to disappear for a while.
What is this? Carson actually posted something? I know this isn't much, but I had a fun time building and photographing these two this last week. Most of my collection is difficult to access, so I've been focusing a lot of my free time towards completely reorganizing my collection. Hopefully when I have my own space I will be be back to building again. Anyways, enjoy these two cute fellas and have a Happy Holidays!!
Sandcrawlers, originally called digger crawlers, were huge mobile fortresses used by the Jawas as their transport and shelter in the deserts of Tatooine and Arvala-7. They were equipped with a magnetic suction tube for sucking droids and scrap into the cargo hold. They also contained cargo holds, scrap-processing facilities, and quarters for crew and passengers. They were large enough to fit an entire Jawa clan.
Built by the Corellia Mining Corporation as massive mobile mining and smelting facilities, sandcrawlers appeared to be treaded boxes that towered some 20 meters above the surrounding landscape. They possessed a triangular front that held the cockpit. Corellian Mining intended the vehicles to serve as semi-autonomous mining operations in rough frontier worlds. Their primitive but reliable nuclear fusion steam reactors and multiple treads ensured they seldom broke down, and their weight and armor meant they could survive the harshest environments.
Sandcrawlers were robust and customizable enough that they could be found all across the galaxy and were put to uses they were not originally designed for. For example, on the desert planet of Tatooine, many sandcrawlers had been left behind by various mining consortiums over the years, only to be salvaged and repurposed by nomadic Jawa clans.
The Jawas roamed the wastes of Tatooine looking for scraps to sell and trade to moisture farmers and nomads. Sandcrawlers had large cargo holds, scrap-processing facilities, and enough space for quarters for an entire Jawa clan.
For the Jawas, sandcrawlers functioned as transportation as well as shelter from the harsh desert environment.
They were commonly used as part of scavenging operations and contained large cargo holds capable of holding 1,500 droids at a time. Magnetic suction tubes allowed the Jawas to quickly suck droids and pieces of scrap into the holds.
Inside the sandcrawler, Jawas typically utilized the reactor to melt down scrap metal and droids.
Making Of
The Empire disintegrated with the death of Rax, the disappearance of Sloane, and the failure of the Imperial counteroffensive which ended with the loyalists' catastrophic defeat in the Battle of Jakku.
The Empire forever changed as it was pushed back to a handful of sectors on the fringe of the Outer Rim, containing only a small fraction of the galaxy's population and industrial base. These sectors were a heavily fortified final redoubt, and the New Republic deemed that they posed too minor of a threat to justify the high cost in life that liberating them would require.
The New Republic then forced Grand Vizier Amedda to capitulate the Empire and settle for the Galactic Concordance on Chandrila, a humiliating armistice agreement which imposed strict disarmament plans and punishing reparations on the Empire. Treaty stipulations included outlawing the recruitment and mobilization of the Stormtrooper Corps, paying heavy war reparations, adhering to strict disarmament treaties, abandoning the numerous Imperial Academies scattered across the Empire, banning torture, and ceding its capital of Coruscant to the Republic.
Chancellor Mothma then issued another declaration designating all surviving officers war criminals, though she granted conditional pardons to all civilian functionaries including Amedda, provided they complied with the Concordance. While regulating what remained of the Empire's once-mighty military-industrial complex, thus limiting its ability to wage war, the treaty did permit elements of the Imperial Navy to remain in pre-determined boundaries in the Core Worlds and the Inner Rim.
At the command of the Republic, they were recalled to the Core; however, some did not obey.
Sheriff Cobb Vanth set out to liberate the town of Mos Pelgo after it was conquered by the Mining Collective.
Equipped with a set of Mandalorian armor (Boba Fett ) he acquired from a group of Jawas, Vanth entered the town and made short work of the entire occupying force, including downing a team of enforcers who tried to flee aboard a landspeeder using a missile.
"Ever since the XP-38 came out, they just aren't in demand."
―Luke Skywalker upon selling his X-34 landspeeder to Wioslea
Imperial modification of the XP-34/38.
The X-34 was an open-air/sealed cockpit civilian landspeeder manufactured by SoroSuub Corporation. One famous owner was Luke Skywalker.
Durable if not stylish, the X-34 featured holographic displays, a computer for ground navigation, and a number of repulsor counterbalances for smooth and steady travel over rough terrain. Its maximum altitude was 1 meter (100 cm), but its usual cruising altitude was roughly 10 cm above ground level. It utilized three turbine engines to propel the vehicle forward. Its repulsorfield generator housing was located behind the cockpit. Its power circuit was located in front of the cockpit.
The X-34 retailed for roughly 10,550 credits new, 2,500 used. It was light and unarmored and lacked weapon mounts, making it unsuitable for military applications, unlike the Flash speeder or the Rebel combat speeder, also manufactured by SoroSuub.
The open-air landspeeder could be piloted through the use of a steering wheel and foot pedals, and featured a retractable duraplex windscreen. In addition, the vehicle cockpit featured holographic displays as well as a computer for ground navigation.
Dedicated to the actress Gina Carano, be strong and don't give up.
"...In December 2018, she was announced as part of the cast of The Mandalorian, Lucasfilm's first live-action Star Wars television series. She portrayed the character CARA DUNE with a first appearance in the fourth episode of the first season titled "Chapter 4: Sanctuary". Carano initially believed she would be playing the role of a female Wookiee, and was surprised to "find that [she] was one of the few people that you were actually going to see her face." She played the role in seasons 1 and 2.
On February 12, 2021, two days after Carano was ousted from Lucasfilm (DISNEY) for controversial social media posts.."
"AT-ST."
"Imperial walker. What's it doing here?"
"I don't know."
―Cara Dune and Din Djarin discovering AT-ST footprints
"So what happens if you take that thing off? They come after you and kill you?"
"No. You just can't ever put it back on again."
"That's it?"
―Cara Dune and Din Djarin
About:
Carasynthia "Cara" Dune was a human female Alderaanian who served as a shock trooper in the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the New Republic during the Galactic Civil War. A seasoned warrior, she was an intimidating brawler and a crack shot. By 9 ABY, Dune had put her days of military discipline behind her to operate as a mercenary. After spending time on the planet Sorgan, she met the bounty hunter Din Djarin and his companion and worked with him for a short time before Djarin departed Sorgan. Eventually, Djarin returned to enlist Dune to help him combat an Imperial remnant on Nevarro. After their mission, Dune stayed on Nevarro to work with Djarin's former employer Greef Karga. Eventually, she was assigned as Marshal of Nevarro by the New Republic.
After I uploaded the first version, I kept on finding things to improve. I think I'm done now.
Notable improvements:
- Grogu's dome
- Better angle and detail on the front of the wings
- Better solution for the tail
- More detail on the engines
"My lord, the fleet has moved out of lightspeed. Com-scan has detected an energy field protecting an area of the sixth planet of the Hoth system. The field is strong enough to deflect any bombardment."
"The Rebels are alerted to our presence. Admiral Ozzel came out of lightspeed too close to the system."
"He...He felt surprise was wiser—"
"He is as clumsy as he is stupid. General, prepare your troops for a surface attack."
"Yes, my Lord."
―General Maximillian Veers and Darth Vader
The Imperial attack force consisted of primarily AT-AT walkers, commanded by General Maximilian Veers. His army was tasked with destroying Echo Base's main power generator to allow orbital bombardment of the planet and for Darth Vader to land on the planet. Spearheading the defense of the generator was Rogue Squadron, manning snowspeeders, commanded by Luke Skywalker, renowned for being the pilot who destroyed the first Death Star.
The snowspeeders however did not have the necessary firepower to bring down the walkers, so Skywalker suggested an alternative tactic to trip up the walkers with the tow cables issued to every snowspeeder.
Despite the efforts by Rogue Squadron, the power generator was eventually destroyed by Veers' main AT-AT. The remaining base personnel proceeded to evacuate, as the 501st Legion, led by Darth Vader, entered the base.
The overwhelming Imperial invasion forced the Rebellion to scatter the Alliance Fleet across the galaxy, leading to a multitude of scattered skirmishes across the galaxy for over six months before the Empire's sudden and crushing defeat at the Battle of Endor.

"Despite protecting yourself in the trenches, during darkness it is important to keep an eye on the entire area." -General
Trench warfare was a type of surface warfare in which opposing infantries attacked, counterattacked, and defended from networks of trenches dug into the ground.
Prolonged exposure of the soldiers' feet to damp, unsanitary, and cold conditions could lead to the medical condition known as "trench foot." Because Mimban's dense and ionized atmosphere made air support difficult, the Imperial campaign against the Mimbanese Liberation Army was largely carried out by entrenched troops.
The Rebel Alliance also utilized trenches on their base at Crait and at Echo Base on Hoth.

Here is my 1436 piece, 36cm long, proportionally accurate (hopefully, for the most part) Razor Crest.
I used Hasbro’s super detailed Haslab Razor Crest model as a reference to try and create a moc as accurate as possible and I’m quite pleased with how it’s come out.
I also designed an angled stand for it that slots in and out of the underside of the ship and it comes with detachable landing gear, fully functional side and rear doors and… a tiny little Mando and Grogu waiting inside.
The Troopers on Hoth wore a white or beige shirt and pants, along with matching tan and white caps with ear flaps, and could carry goggles when necessary. Troopers in the field and not in the safety of Echo Base often wore a similar variant as those in the hangar but instead had more of a white and grey coloring, along with white Alliance Cold Weather Backpacks

This is the simple gear I usually use for my toy photography:
Canon 6D full-frame camera
Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro lens
Nanlite PavoTube for background lighting
Promaster Remote
Various LED lights for spot lighting and light painting (not shown)
Grogu loves knobs and buttons, so he is curious about the remote trigger.
We watched The Mandalorian this past summer while we were on vacation. I built this for my Dad for his birthday.
Polar Rancors hunt troopers by waiting for them from come to the surface of ship. When the troopers the surface, the creature will bite or grab the soldier and pull it onto far land to feed.
I've reworked and recoloured my midi Naboo N-1 for Mando, instructions will be on Rebrickable soon...
rebrickable.com/users/ron_mcphatty/mocs
This N-1 is 28cm long, slightly longer than its yellow counterpart. This was to accomodate the frame-tail but I think the proportions look a bit better. There's plenty of detail but I've gone for strenth over accuracy, it should withstand a good swoosh, but most importantly Grogu will fit in the back. Who didn't see that coming?!
set Lego 75259. A T-47 airspeeder, better known as "snowspeeder", is a Rebel Alliance vehicle featured in The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and several books, comics, and video games in the Star Wars Expanded Universe and also in Atari game cartridges in the 80's. Snowspeeder models and replicas have been merchandised by several companies.
Origin and design
During production of The Empire Strikes Back, designer Joe Johnston conceived a ship that combined the body of an X-wing and the cockpit of the Y-wing.[23] However, this design was scrapped for the T-47, which featured no elements from previous craft. Johnston's designs for the Snowspeeders have influenced later Star Wars designers, such as Tommy Lee Edwards.
The models were built in three different scales by Steve Gawley, Charlie Bailey, and Mike Fulmer of ILM, with the smallest (20 inches) used for motion control photography, and the largest for hero and pyrotechnic shots. All models included motor-controlled flaps to imply maneuverability, and the largest version also possessed motor-articulated crew Several full-scale props were built in London for the hangar, cockpit, and speeder crash scenes.
Hello There!
I'm George. I'm a potter, sculptor and decorator and I have a pottery studio in Greece.
I'm also a Star Wars 3.75 inch collector.
I love to display my figures and I love to make dioramas for myself and other people.
This is a classy wooden display box with led lights, plexigrlass window and with an Ice Cave Diorama inside.
I make my dioramas with polymer clay ((it's like plastic strong and flexible) and then hand paint them.
All handmade

Taking advantage before disassembling the set. we have taken another photograph with soldiers and an ATAT.
"It's the trooper you don't see that will get you."
―Cassian Andor
Death troopers were an elite variant of the Galactic Empire's stormtroopers designed for stealth, espionage and lethality. Operating under Imperial Intelligence, they served as protective details and bodyguards for significant Imperial officers and members of the Tarkin Initiative, as well as special-assignment commandos. They wore black suits of body armor and specialized helmets with vocal scramblers, micro-motion sensors, and heads-up displays with data on enemy and friendly positions on the battlefield. Death troopers were trained in unarmed combat, heavy weapons, demolitions, improvised weaponry, guerrilla warfare, and marksmanship. They were experts at covering their tracks, and left little to no evidence of their missions.
...The Battle of Scarif, also known as the action on Scarif, the mission to Scarif, or the raid on Scarif, was the first major battle fought in 0 BBY between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. The battle was preceded by years of attacks by the fledgling Rebel Alliance against the Empire and began the five-year period in which the Alliance successfully fought to replace the Galactic Empire with the New Republic.
Prior to the battle, Rebel Alliance Intelligence Service intercepted information suggesting that renowned scientist Galen Erso was building an Imperial superweapon capable of destroying entire planets. Alliance leadership sent Galen Erso's daughter, Jyn Erso, and Captain Cassian Andor to learn more about her father's involvement, and their subsequent efforts saw the Alliance discover the existence of the Death Star, as well as a fatal flaw in the design placed there by Galen Erso.
Though the Alliance High Command refused to openly oppose the Empire, Erso and Andor led a small unit of Rebel Marines and other allies and defied orders, taking it upon themselves to launch an incursion of the Scarif Citadel, as the rebels planned to infiltrate the heavily guarded Citadel Tower base on Scarif to retrieve the Death Star plans. Under the callsign Rogue One, the unit infiltrated Scarif's planetary shield in a stolen Zeta-class Heavy Cargo Shuttle and proceeded to wage a guerrilla assault on the Citadel's outskirts, drawing away Imperial forces so that Andor, Erso, and the droid K-2SO could infiltrate the facility. Director Orson Krennic, the former commander of the Death Star, attempted to stop Erso and Andor from stealing the plans, but the heavily outnumbered Rebels received support from the Alliance Fleet under Admiral Raddus, whose forces engaged the Imperial Star Destroyers above Scarif and worked to destroy the Shield Gate protecting the planet.
With the Shield Gate's destruction, Rogue One was able to transmit the stolen plans to the fleet above, though all remaining Rebel ground forces were eradicated by a low-powered blast from the newly arrived Death Star that destroyed the Citadel and surrounding area. The Sith Lord Darth Vader's forces made short work of the rebel ships that did not manage to retreat, but Princess Leia Organa escaped the battle in the Tantive IV; Vader pursued her to the planet Tatooine and captured her there, but the plans were already out of his reach. The plans eventually found their way to the Alliance, who used them to pinpoint the Death Star's weakness and destroy it at the Battle of Yavin.
