As seen from the trail ridge road in Rocky Mountain National Park. I'm not sure which peak this is above the grey forest of all the trees killed by borer beetles.
In Colorado, mountain pine beetle-caused mortality impacted nearly 3.4 million acres compared to 1.78 million acres impacted by spruce beetle statewide over the last 20 years.

The range was named for Lord St. George Gore, an Irish baronet who visited the area in the 1850s on a notorious hunting expedition throughout the American West.
Gore's three-year stopover in the American West had him traversing what is today the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado. The figures are difficult to substantiate, but Gore himself claimed to have killed more than 2,000 buffalo, 1,600 elk and deer and 100 bears for mere sport. The carcasses were left to rot.

Well I wasn't sure what to take a picture of tonight, and well this came to mind well it started to rain. I tried to take pictures in katies mom's garden but couldnt get anything that I wanted.
So instead I got Katie to stand out side with her lovely Arc'teryx jacket on and collect water! No flash with this photo I used the flash on my iPhone to create a fill light on the water drops so I could get a fast enough shutter speed!
With all the work that has been keeping me busy, doing workshops, exhibitions and getting Dracorubio off the ground as a business, I must not forget to keep doing what I love and that is photoshopping just for fun. just because I can and because it clears my mind. It’s meditative and soothing. Even though the outcome doesn’t look it ;-)

5086 Viscount Horne was one of 15 Castles rebuilt from Churchward Star Class 4-6-0s and it is passing Goring in April 1952 on an up Worcester express. A colourised b/w taken by A. C. Cawston.
Goring was my destinatrion on 31st .August 1963 - with the hope of seeing GW locos on their own line , but only one of half-a-dozen trains seen was GW hauled.
Before I retired, we lived in this north central area of Colorado. I love the Gore Range. We visit friends in this area often since its only 60 miles from where we now live in central Colorado. Below is a brief description of the Gore Range from summitpost.org
"Colorado’s spectacular but barely known Gore Range is host to many alpine summits over 13,000-ft and many more summits over 12,000-ft. In the relatively short stretch from Gore Pass in the north to Tenmile Creek in the south (60 miles), the Gore range is densely populated with 50 some mountains over 12,000-ft. The Gores, rather than consisting of large isolated mountains rising from the timber or tundra, consist instead of dramatic serrated ridges, with the summits being ridge junctions or high points. These dramatic ridges are riddled with gnarled, tooth-like spires that have mesmerized many world-class climbers."

this desire should not exist
it shouldn't devour me
but it keeps me tied up
I can't defend myself
it won't let me go...
...So I bend and give in...
until it suffocates me
Union Pacific OSJXP-04 with the Spirit 1943 Union Pacific Railroad leads, winding through the incredible Gore Canyon into the vibrant evening sun at tunnel 38. This westbound had a slow start from Denver being called at 0945 and waiting till well after 1100 for departure. A quick decision to get a planned shot from many visits to the Radium area played out well.

Colorado's Western Slope is home to gritty mountain railroading. Heavy trains, deep canyons and treacherous curves are common along this route. Here, a loaded coal train running 2x2x2 thunders through Little Gore Canyon on a cool summer afternoon. Thunderstorms have built up across the region but that won't keep the trains from moving. In the distance you can see a westbound BNSF train in the siding at Azure. Just another awesome day in Colorado!

On a stormy summer afternoon, the sound of a loaded coal train bounces off the walls of Little Gore Canyon. This heavy train is working its way up the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains. Soon the tracks will flatten out around Kremmling, but that won't be the end of the trek. There is still another 2,000 feet of vertical climb before topping out in the Moffat Tunnel.

Eat your Heart out loves! To be honest this costume was fun to create but it used all my available layers that my slink hud provided and as you can see took away my normal tattoos. If you are in search of a heart with good gore appliers and animation with sounds look no further then Vista Animations. As for the eyes any black mesh eyes will work for this look.
