Castle Black is the headquarter of the Night's Watch and located on the southern side of the Wall.
Inspired by the Game of Thrones intro I built a series of clockwork micro scale castles from the TV series.

And a video of the functions.

This image is recognisable as one location for the filming of Game of Thrones and as the site for Kings Landing.
Winter is coming!
PS: You don't want to know how many "Lying" poses I went through before I found one that looked like she was dying rather than being a pin-up model.

This photo was taken at Murlough Bay , County Antrim , Northern Ireland, just after a February sunrise.
The area is a frequent location for the shooting of 'Game of Thrones'.
The tree sits at the northern end of a plot memorial to Sir Roger Casement who was raised locally, and who was hanged in London following his conviction on gun running charges, prior to the Easter Rebellion in 1916 in Dublin. Casement was a former British Government diplomat who became disillusioned with colonialism following a posting to the Congo in Africa.
The Lewis chessmen have reached an impasse.
The original chess pieces were found on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland, but it's not certain where they were from or how they got to the island. However, a popular theory is that they were made in Trondheim in western Norway around 1150–1200. There are a number of reasons for this. Firstly, Trondheim was a centre for walrus ivory carving in the Middle Ages; secondly, a fragment of a queen piece in a similar style was found in a local church; and finally, the decoration on the Chessmen's thrones resemble carvings in medieval Norwegian churches.
At this time, the Western Isles where the Chessmen were buried were part of the kingdom of Norway, and not Scotland as they are today.

The last rays of winter sun catching the dramatic bulk of Doune Castle, now made famous by Game of Thrones!
Fantasy variation on the eunuch troopers (called "the Unsullied") from the HBO series "Game of Thrones"
Variation fantaisie sur les soldats eunuques (appelés "les Immaculés") de la série HBO "le Trône de Fer".
I'm scouting a roleplaying sim in the Game of Thrones setting called Dragon's Dominion! Took a picture of an acquaintance who plays as smallfolk (like me haha).
Aaron wasn't born with a golden spoon in his mouth. Not even with a silver one. His family was one of those who lived in one of the many settlements in the Riverlands under the protection of House Grell. The boy grew quickly and matured under the tutelage of his grandfather John Fletcher, who had served as a soldier and fought in a couple of battles that came to these lands from time to time. He was a great influence on young Aaron, who wanted to be a brave warrior as well. When he turned 17, he ran away from home in search of adventure. Life is cruel and so, years later, he wanders, interrupted by bad work among not the most honest company.

Ever since I became owner of this beautifully rerooted Editorial Edge Lilith, I always think of a character in the Game of Thrones, the mother of dragons Daenerys Targaryen.
I don't actually watch the series, but hubby does, which means that as I walk in and out of the room hiding my eyes from the graphic battle scenes, I catch glimpses of the silver-haired beauty with her soft ringlets and braids.
With the series returning soon for its final season, I thought it was a good time to take this Lilith off the shelf.
