Our talented friend, Paul, designs the CHAIR

The 8 screens with charts is to monitor the market for stock trading.

The 3 screens on the right is for everything else.

What is this? I inherited one of these from my grandma and have no idea what it is used for. It is about 4 inches long. Any ideas?

My favourite gadgets from Nokia ... maby from all ;)

The E60 is the best mobile except the E61 and the E70 [and the green phone ;)]

The 770 is the most innovative pocket ever(self-evidently with Linux)

Una foto de mi smartphone un Nokia E62, ¿qué seria del mundo sin los gadget?

A flat grinding stone called Ammi and Kuzhavi in a house in Bamabalapitty. It is made of granite.Ammi and Kuzhavi is a common kitchen gadget of every Tamil household in Sri Lanka. It's used to grind sambols, chutneys and curry pastes.

Ammi plays an impoartant role in the rituals of a Hindu marriage, which is known as Ammi Mithiththal. The bride and bridegroom go around the sacred fire seven times known as Sapthapathi, after tying the Thaali. Then the bridegroom takes hold of the right foot of the bride and makes her take seven consecutive steps, and places the foot of the bride on the Ammi, and wears a silver ring called Minji on her second toe. The same steps are followed to wear a Minji on the left foot of the bride. It indicates she be as strong and steadfast as the stone in the face of adversity. Afterwards the couple looks at the twin star Arunthathy which represents the ideal of a married life or Thampaththya Uravu.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

heh My two favorite new gadgets. I bought the docking (charging) station for my droid. Pop it on and it automatically becomes your alarm clock. It's also a music player/electronic photo frame/weather station in this mode. =)

In the back, my recently-acquired nook. Definitely handy when on the road! I can now take as many books as I want on the road without weighing down my suitcase. Used some hotel points and got this practically free. I've bought a few books and still have some $$ left on the gift card from other hotel points. =) I even got a cover that will allow it to stand hands-free (easel-style) - great for reading pdf patterns while knitting/crocheting.

BTW - That lovely color in the background? Yeah, that would be the hideous paint color chosen by the hotel chain I'm currently staying in.

By combining easily relatable common household commodities with computers, I have created a set of daily objects that give our everyday lives a whimsical spin. Amagatana(UNWiRED) is an umbrella for enjoying a blissful walk after a rain. And Fula is a muffler for warming the user's body and soul on a cold winter's day.

名古屋フォトウォーク(たこさんぽ)/名古屋

My bought this Camera about 2 years ago.

Amazingly cute and has strong contrast with Carl Zeiss Tessar 2.8 /6.5 lense.

It's shakey in the dark though.

Just placed an order for this... This new mindstorm robot will use Bluetooth and USB 2.0 to achieve self-awareness through their PC programmable 32-bit processors. Their ultrasonic "eyes" and sound, light and touch sensors will make them unstoppable...

Gadget in hot pursuit

ODC - GADGETS

a very handy tool/gadget for when a boat is coming along side of a jetty or wharf

The supermarkets drove the kids (and adults) crazy by offering all kinds of World Cup Football gadgets. Here are a few.

Just my new gadgets... the first, a off-camera cord TTL, for my flash 580EX.. Directly from HongKong. Very good deal.

The second, my Remote Shutter for Canon cameras. Made by my friend, Djames. Works exactly like the original, but a little cheaper. Thanks Djames!

The one 'gadget' my mother uses all the time. It comes with a wireless sensor you attach to the mains cable.

In the case of my parents house because they are elderly they have two meters one for the cheap rate storage/space heaters and one for normal electricity. The display reads 0kW because the sensor is attached to the cheap rate cable when all the heaters were off. When one of the heaters is switched on you see an almost immediate jump in usage of about 0.6-0.7kW ( you can purchase additional sensors as there are three sensor inputs on the wireless transmitter, which would be useful for seeing combined usage, I don't believe you could read the sensors individually )

You can program in the amount electricity costs you per kw and set alarms for usage limits and enter a unit for the amount of greenhouse gas per kw you believe is emitted.

A handy device which I believe are being given away in small localised trials to see how they affects usage patterns. Anyway it lets mum see how many of her heaters are on all over the house from the Kitchen.

Due to licensing problems it no longer seems to be called Electrisave it is now OWL Wireless Electricity Monitor cheaper than it was as Electrisave also available on Amazon , a neat Xmas gift.

There is also the Efergy homeCO2meter which has a memory function ( appearantly also to be included in the upcoming OWL model ) and is about a tenner cheaper.

One of the various gadgets I got for Christmas this year was this unique camera. Basically, it's a microscope that's powered by the computer's USB port. It features 4 white LEDs near the lens for illuminating the material which you are trying to view.

The camera has the standard Zoom and Focus rings similar to those on a standard microscope and/or D-SLR lens. The button visible on the top is the shutter button, allowing the user to take a snapshot of the object they are viewing.

I will post some images taken with this camera.

Although I like new gadgets it can take a very long time before I give in. I resisted the (Sony)walkman for years as I did the compact-disc player. I like my daughter’s Ipod but never bought one myself.

A few years ago I did bye a PDA (Palm) but it was the cheapest model (black and white). My incredible Nokia mini-computer (phone, PDA, photocamera, adressbook, agenda, mp3-player) I got relatively cheap because it wasn’t the latest model.

Yes, I blame my upbringing, I blame Luther and Calvin!

Or is it really something ingrained in my character?

Anyhow, for my birthday I got a navigation system. Although sceptical for years, my attitude changed when the prices went down (Calvin again!) and I realized more and more how often we had problems finding places where we had never been before, even if we had printed out a description of the route to take. Although my daughter loves the theatrics that go along with two parents, not being able to find the road, we can easily do without all the stress.

So I wonder, will this small apparatus improve my life? My well-being?

(Btw: I changed my profile-message. Maybe you like to read and tell me if it's an improvement ;-))
