On the first day visited the Indian pavilion at the fair as well as had meetings with Mr. Eckhard Heuser, CEO, Association of the German Dairy Industry (MIV); H.E. Peter Bleser, Parliamentary State Secretary and Food & Agriculture Minister of Federal Republic of Germany and Mr. Jurgen Abhraham, Honorary President of the Federation of German Food and Drinks Industries (BVE Group ).

Our very last stop on our tour of Michigan takes us to the Neogen Corporation of Lansing, Michigan on Friday May 4rd. From their site, Neogen Corporation (www.neogen.com/en/) was founded in 1982 and they develop and manufacture "...a diverse line of products dedicated to food and animal safety."
Our visit was hosted by James Herbert, Executive Chairman of the Board & Steve Quinlan, CFO for this publicly traded company (NASDAQ: NEOG). The presentation was at the Capital Region International Airport. From the Government Relations site, "the Michigan Road Scholar Tour takes faculty of the University of Michigan (U-M) on a five-day traveling seminar on the State of Michigan. This educational tour exposes participants to the state’s economy, government and politics, culture, educational systems, health and social issues, history, and geography."

In last 9 years, SAD-BJP has ensured holistic development of Bathinda constituency. Taking forward the development agenda, we laid the foundation stone of new A.C bus terminal at Bathinda to be constructed at an outlay of Rs. 40 Cr. The foundation stone of Sirhind canal over bridge was also laid. we also inaugurated a 66 KV grid and new tehsil complex at Maur Mandi.

We took another leap towards boosting the Food Processing sector nationally to help agriculture become the engine of growth to drive the “Make in India” initiative of Hon’ble Prime Minister. The launch of first new Mega Food Park at Jharkhand has opened avenues for 6000 youth of Jharkhand apart from benefitting 25000-30000 farmers. This Mega Food Park has been set up in an area of 51.50 acres with an outlay of Rs. 114.73

North-east apart from its stupendous beauty, is also rich in resources. Its weather and adequate availability of water are conducive to fruits and vegetables cultivation. To maximize the potential of the state,Ministry of Food Processing Industries has sanctioned 3 Mega Food Parks and 5 Cold Chain in the state. I urge the entrepreneurs to take lead in developing food processing sector in the north east.
We attended the investiture ceremony of change of regents in San Marino.It takes place at the beginning of spring and autumn; is carried out with a ceremony procession in characteristic clothes from the Public Palace to the Basilica of the Holy. The Captains Regent serve as 'Head of a State' and 'Head of Government' in San Marino.

Chandi Prasad Bhatt ji is an environmentalist and social activist, who founded Dasholi Gram Swarajya Sangh (DGSS) in Uttarakhand in 1964. DGSS later became a mother-organization to the Chipko Movement, in which he was one of the pioneers. For Chipko Movement, Chandi Prasad Ji was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership. He was conferred with Padma Bhushan and Gandhi peace Prize too.

Make in India is a revolutionary mission to mobilize the vast talent pool of the nation, on the road to a ‘Developed’ India. Food processing presents immense opportunities for farmers and youth of the country apart from ensuring optimum use of resources. It is a matter of pride for me to inaugurate the Seminar on ‘Opportunities in the Food Processing Sector’ at Make in India Week and to participate in this creative and developmental initiative.
Showcasing India and particularly Punjab as the areas to watch out for in respect of food processing sector, the Union Food Processing Industries Minister Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal today held meetings in Paris during International Food Exhibition-SIAL 2016 with the heads of various top notch companies to look for extending co-operation in not only food processing but other sectors as diverse as Dairy and retail.
