Greetings Colours of Autumn ... :-))
And it's official too.
Today marks the Autumn, or Fall, Exqinox 2015.
It occurs when daylight and darkness are an
approximate equal duration – equinox being
Latin for ‘equal night.’
So the long dark cold evenings are drawing in ...

During the Autumnal Equinox, the sun sets on a large isolated Oak Tree in the middle of an open field.
For years I always wanted to get a sunset shot of this isolated tree, well what better time to do it during the equinox, and the help of the smoke from the western fires.

When the sun rises in the middle of the Keyhole at Deering Estate in September....Fall must be right around the corner...Fall Equinox at Deering. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
The green and warmer temperatures are TRYING to hang on here... But the brown is slowly taking over! I love the combination that occurs this time of year!
Happy autumnal equinox! Today is the first day of fall. Maple trees on Cascade Mountain, Utah County, Utah.
The view of the quayside from Thessaloniki City Hall, Greece. There are silhouettes of trees in front of the gulf of Salonica and the cloud-laden skies. The sun just hid behind Mt. Vermion a couple of minutes before sunset. Autumn has commenced. September 23, 2019.
Just a quick one this morning ...
Some of my friends are partaking in a sunrise shoot this morning at the Deering Estates in Cutler Bay. I didn't choose to attend this one for some reason. But when I woke up this morning, I wondered how their sunrise will look. As you know, no two sunrises are ever the same ... sometimes not even when you're standing next to another photographer at the same time.
See, to me a sunrise is all about a new day, a new beginning, a chance to start off fresh. It's also about your interpretation of that moment ... when the light just begins to pop, usually well before the actual sighting of any sun. Everyone sees it different, everyone composes it different. During the fall equinox of 2014, this is one of the ways that I "saw it".
Hope that my friends are having an awesome sunrise shoot. Can't wait to see what they come back with. :-)
Thanks for stopping by to view and especially for sharing your thoughts and comments.

People stroll and cycle along the promenade in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The sunny days are over. Autumn commences there, too, as the Equinox sun sets behind Mt. Vermion.
The day breathes its last beneath cloud-laden skies. A glorious sunset indeed.

Les jours ensoleillés sont finis. L’automne commence ; le soleil de l’équinoxe se couche derrière le mont Vérmion.
Le jour respire sa fin sous un ciel chargé de nuages. Un coucher de soleil magnifique.

Autumn colors are well on their way as we approach the Fall Equinox on Sunday, but this image is from December of last year, when most of them had long faded - except for a few wild strawberry leaves that caught my attention. They produce pretty little white flowers in the spring but very little fruit. A nearby grower has the everbearing variety that produce fruit all summer long, which are a favorite for me.
First and foremost, I want to wish my mother a very Happy Birthday! She has always been there for me my entire life ... full of smiles and encouragement. I couldn't have asked for a better one. <3
About a week or so ago, I had the opportunity to photograph the sunrise, as seen from the Deering Estate in Cutler Bay (Florida). It's truly a special place ... and to celebrate the upcoming fall season there is especially rewarding. See, this day was the fall equinox and the sun rises smack in the middle of the boat basin at the estate. OK, I know what you're thinking ... hey, that doesn't look like the middle. It's not, but the warm golden colors were just too hard to resist. :-)
On this particular morning, the water was as calm as could be. Even the temperature on that morning seemed to be cooperating a bit ... if just those no-see-ums would have gotten the memo to not show up. Seriously, they can eat you alive! However, when you're in the middle of a shot, you don't feel them because the beauty captivates your senses. Sometimes you get lucky with fish jumping, birds flying, or even a SUP'er passing through your view.
Either way, it's always a special morning ... well worth the 3:30 am wake up call ... and fun to share it with good friends as well.
Thanks for stopping by to view.

The Return Of The Beautiful?!?
Matter in fact, this southwestern part of New England defies the image that speak over a thousand words that begin with "Astonishing". We're glad to see that this tree is still overseen with all those gigantic, orangy leaves that don't seem to fall over time, however it's past November 1st.

On two days each year, the spring and fall equinox, the sun's path aligns with the east-west street grid in Chicago.
After clouds made Friday's sunset a disappointment, I set an early alarm to see today's sunrise. Just before 7:00 A.M., it appeared over Lake Michigan and rose next to the Hancock.
nature arranged this wonderful collection, i just had fun exploring different angles of it!
Warmest wishes for a good new season as fall rolls around, as a light frost covered out garden this morning...
It's been awhile since I've posted on flickr. As I welcomed in the New Year, I took time also to reflect upon 2015. It's always a very important time for me to think about what the past years experiences were ... geographically, but more importantly spiritually, emotionally, and personally. It is at that point that one can look forward to the new year ... goals, strategies, challenges, all the while knowing that you must keep an open mind for the unexpected. More on that in just a few.
One of the most beautiful places for sunrise photography in south Florida is from Cutler Bay ... specifically the Deering Estate. It's not often that the estate grounds are open for sunrise photo shoots, so I always anticipate them. As you can see, the views are amazing ... those gorgeous royal palm tree lines landscaping leading out to the bay on the calmest of days too. Sure we could have used more of those puffy white clouds, but it didn't matter. Departing quite early in the morning to arrive an hour before official sunrise on this fall equinox, knowing that the sun should rise right in the center of lined trees, all add to the excitement. Each time I've been there for this event, it's always been very different, but always beautiful.
As I eluded to before, sometimes life throws us a curveball that we didn't plan for. It's hard to say why and often difficult to accept. We struggle to make sense of it all. We search for the right words, vow to stay strong, and offer support as best as we can. As hard as it is for me, I know that it has been immensely harder for my best friend ... since childhood. I dedicate this image to the memory of her husband and remind her and her family that new days will dawn and celebrating the happy memories of loved ones will help in the healing. RIP CLS.
To everyone who has read this far into the image story ... Life is short and our time in this world is unknown. Live life to the fullest, make happy memories with friends and family, don't be afraid or otherwise remiss in telling those whom you care about exactly how much you love them and what they mean to you. You never know when your chances to do so will run out. That being said, my flickr family and friends are so amazing and I appreciate all of you. :-)
Thanks so much for stopping by to view and for sharing your thoughts and comments.

Fall Foliage - 22
On the seventh day of November, it shows a big difference in change over the last ten days. From that time period, the wonder of this peak season has started to slowly dwindle as more precipitations downgraded the quality of fall foliage by less than the percentage of 3/4ths.
The wonderness of fall isn't really the same as it was in foliage #15.
Time for winter?!? so close..
