I awoke this morning, dreamed of getting this photo, hoped the Nashville's had migrated, went to the place in Steigerwald Lake NWR where I first see them, and sure enough, my dream came true.

I saw it late in the afternoon at the feeder for the first time but when I got my camera it was gone. Finally perched high in my neighbor's tree and I had to wrangle through the branches to get this. Hope he/she comes back so I can determine which selasphorus was my first visitor this season.

A very nice surprise flyby of a flock of Common Goldeneyes. In that flock was a single male Barrow's Goldeneye!! My FOS for both.

Always good to have the buntings back! Saw three today and photo'd two. Light was a challenge today. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

One can see how this species is described as "like a large Least Sandpiper"

Sawmiil Rd., Montague, NJ

Found this lone Scissor-tailed Flycatcher on this gray, cloudy morning. From his behavior think he migrated in overnight. He was weary and reluctant to fly, but catching bugs. Relocated the Yellow-throated Vireo we heard the other day, but no usuable pics. Also saw two Osprey and migrating Least Sandpipers. A poor day for photography, but a good day birding.

My first of the season White-Crowned Sparrow (this is a juvenile) showed up in our yard today. They've been gone since March and I'm happy to have them back.

First of season bunting. Was a ways off, but turned out decent. Hope to get some closer looks this week.

First of season White-eyed Vireo. First pic anyway. Heard two others and got glimpses through the brush. Hearing these birds and getting a photo are two different matters. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

FOS means first of season. First one I've seen this year. It was way up high on a tree top.
