Hello friends, this is my Valentine's day upload. I know its not very related to Valentines day, nor did i upload it on valentines day. Oh well. This was inspired by Cupid. I wanted to take Krisha and sort of turn her into an evil cupid, or something of the sort. So we got to location, and we got to work. Ill post the before here so you can see exactly what i did with the image in post. My Valentines day was great! I got my girlfriend our favorite movie, Good Will Hunting, on blu ray and i also got her a FD 28 f/2.8 for her Canon AE-1. She got me a 24-105L Lens mug :). It was fun! We went out to a very fat but delicious Lucille's dinner. That and this shoot made for a very memorable valentines day :). As for this picture, it had come out exactly how i anticipated it to. But i dont know, i feel like it could be missing something. Or maybe i have expectations to high for my conceptual capabilities. I am sort of new to this stuff, so cut me some slack. I realized after doing this shot that i would like to continue to do conceptual stuff with my girlfriend. Shes the only person i would want to do this sort of stuff with. She takes really good direction and puts up with me while im the zone haha. Ill stop typing now because i feel very sick. Im pretty congested and i have a terrible headache. I probably gave the sickness to my girl too haha. Alrighty, bye now.

This planetary explorer (factory name: “PEX-1ML”) was designed as a mobile base (serving also as a laboratory and an observatory). It has all the necessary equipment to explore terrain of new planets. Its drivetrain and suspension was built to handle very rough terrain, while its body was constructed from materials that can withstand almost any weather conditions.

Fjadrargljufur Canyon is a breathtaking natural wonder located in Iceland. It is characterized by its steep, towering cliffs that stretch for approximately 2 kilometers and reach heights of up to 100 meters. The canyon is carved by the Fjadrá River, which flows through its narrow gorge, creating a mesmerizing display of cascading waterfalls and crystal-clear pools. The walls of the canyon are adorned with lush green vegetation, adding to its picturesque beauty. The canyon's unique geological formations, with their intricate layers of volcanic rock, provide a glimpse into Iceland's volcanic history.

The walls of Fjadrargljufur canyon are made up of dark volcanic rock, giving it a striking and rugged appearance. The contrast between the dark rock and the surrounding landscape creates a visually stunning scene. The canyon walls are incredibly steep, reaching heights of up to 100 meters. This verticality adds to the dramatic and awe-inspiring nature of the canyon.

The vegetation in Fjadrargljufur canyon is sparse, with only a few hardy plants able to survive in the harsh conditions. Moss and grass can be found clinging to the rocks, adding a touch of green to the otherwise barren landscape.

The combination of the steep walls, dark volcanic rock, and flowing river creates a truly breathtaking scenery. The overall atmosphere of the canyon is serene and tranquil, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and photographers.

Tiffany and her three friends drove all the way from the far lands of the ocean to have a shoot with me. It was filled with good times, and delicious alberto's afterwards. I was assisted by my good friend Kevin, ill link his work. You should really check him out, he's very talented! :D. Its the morning, and i just woke up. So ill stop writing now.

One of my favorite Flickr contacts is Dustin Diaz. I love his work. He's doing this awesome 365 project complete with lighting setup shots. Very cool of him, and very inspiring. I've learned a ton just looking at his work. Hope to meet him and shoot some day. Anyway, I needed some inspiration, so this is my attempt at a Dustin-Diaz-style shot. Thanks for sharing Dustin.

P.S. Even with all the inspiration, I forgot to shoot one of Dustin's setup shots. Doh!

Lighting and Setup Info: First, the glass is setting on a 3'x3' sheet of black acrylic. Gotta love that stuff. Makes for great reflections. Second, I created a makeshift 3-sided box around the glass out of three white cards (2'x3' foam boards bought at Hobby Lobby). One card to the right, one to the left, and one above the glass. The reflection of the white cards created the highlights on the the stem of the glass. Gotta love Hobby Lobby, specular highlights, and cheap white cards (roughly in that order). I placed the acrylic sheet on a ceder chest I bought for $100 at an auction 20-some odd years ago. You needed to know that. Third, I placed a bunch of Christmas "Icicles" (things you hang on a Christmas tree) in the background for that colorful bokeh effect. I bought those a WalMart after Christmas. Gotta love Christmas and WalMart (definitely in that order). Finally, I shot a SB-26 (small Nikon strobe) into the "Icicles", and I placed a Canon flash on the ground behind the glass aimed up into the white box to light glass. Both of the strobes where triggered using a Skyport transmitter/receivers.

Deep down in the „Kall“-Valley

The results of a day trip exploring covered bridges in Macaza, scenic sections of Le-Petit-Train-Du-Nord, some lovely sunset grasses I spotted in Arundel, & the stunning views at the peak of Mont Tremblant. Would love if you explored the album as a whole!

This was my first trip since my mom passed away in May. Getting out of the house with my husband & driving around for hours exploring new & familiar areas was lovely & soothing. We tend to visit Tremblant later in the year, so it was a treat to see all the colors!
