Exploring one of the many islands with its many bays, channels and out cropping's. What a incredible country we have to explore.
Minutes before the rain and thunderstorm set in.

NHL training camps are starting up and so is local hockey. This was JJ's first game 3 years ago. I've always liked this photo but never got around to posting it, but the beginning of another season seems to me like the right time. I like the triangular shape with JJ at the apex, a white sweater against the reds.

Suomenlinna, until 1918 Viapori (Finnish), or Sveaborg (Swedish), is an inhabited sea fortress built on six islands (Kustaanmiekka, Susisaari, Iso-Mustasaari, Pikku-Mustasaari, Länsi-Mustasaari and Långören) and which now forms part of the city of Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
Suomenlinna is a UNESCO World Heritage site and popular with tourists and locals, who enjoy it as a picturesque picnic site. Originally named Sveaborg (Fortress of Svea), or Viapori as called by Finnish-speaking Finns, it was renamed Suomenlinna (Castle of Finland) in 1918 for patriotic and nationalistic reasons, though it is sometimes known by its original name. In Swedish-speaking and historical context, the name Sveaborg is always used.
