The man who talked to us when we were shooting. Sometimes people who is interested in a camera or a photograph talk to when we take pictures outside. He started talking about from a camera to a wartime story and he told us how he survived during the war.
When he was 15 years old, he worked to put the dead bodies in order to identify or buried them in the hole and that job made 10,000 yen in the daily wages. While there were many people returning as they see the bodies, he worked hard and started an electric shop after the war. He said with a smile " The postwar electric shop made money next to a thief."

The title of each image explains the comparison as plain as can be. You can just start with the 10 foot comparison or the 200 foot comparison and use the photostream thumbnails to the right to step through the demo frame-by-frame. I used my car as the subject, because you can relate the size of a car to anything you wish. The license plate is about 6" tall (155mm) and 12" wide (305mm). The car is about 5 feet (1.5 m) wide from the outer edge of one tail light to the outer edge of the other tail light.
I did not crop the images at all. They are shown full frame. I downsized the image from 300 ppi to 72ppi to make it easier to show on Flickr.
The D300 is a cropped sensor with a "magnification factor" of 1.5X. This means that the "equivalent focal lengths" in this comparison would be 300mm vs 450mm if the test was done on a full frame camera. Please make whatever calculations you need to make in order to make this comparison valid for your camera.

A handy reference to the sayings
I love Asian art history and have taken Chinese and calligraphy. Running across a book of pithy Chinese sayings having to do with futility I translated them from regular Chinese (kaishu) to the ancient ‘seal script’ (zhuanshu) which I manipulated freely to help convey the message. These sayings are rendered as etchings in black ink, combined with impressions of actual collectors’ seals in red. The center of the page is empty as it often is in Asian art. Some actual seals can be seen at Chinese Seals. All prints were done in 2002.

How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. However - look for a symbol with three dots 'ooo' or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.
How can I get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?
If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. EarthKeepers II (EK II) Project Coordinator Kyra Fillmore Ziomkowski explains creating 30 interfaith community gardens (2013-2014) across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that include vegetables and native species plants that encourage and help pollinators like bees and butterflies.

In this video Jason explains his new workshop program for 2013. Jason will be doing the following programs:
Online Webinars- $29.99 and up will be done to help viewers from anywhere in the world to be able to lern with Jason. A variety of topics will be covered in series covering weddings, landscapes, pin ups, children, and more! Jason will also do editing webinars for Lightroom and Photoshop as well.
Meet Ups with Jason- $25 and up will be done in Southern California and anywhere Jason has a destination shoot or workshop planned. These will be for 2 hours and will cover specific lessons and just in general will be a blast.
Workshop- $299 and up are 2 day workshops in some of the most awesome locations in the United States. While these are traditionally 2 days of shooting there will be times where editing is done for 1 day of the workshop.
International Workshops- Jason is planning on doing a workshop to Africa but it isn't discussed in this video. International workshops will typically be 7 days in length and will be from $1,700 and up.

In a strange and symbolic gesture my Buds were killed and eaten. I just couldn’t bear to look them in the Eyes.

In 2009, a handful of London-based musicians travelled to Nairobi in Kenya to collaborate with local musicians there. The project was set up by Hetty Hughes and her friend Aaron Abraham, co-founders of a voluntary organisation called Art of Protest established in order to promote local musicians and rappers. Hetty and Aaron were disheartened by the way they were being sidelined and overlooked, sothey set about inviting some London-based musicians to visit Nairobi and collaborate. It was a loose arrangement… there was no specific agenda other than to bring the musicians together, exchange ideas and enjoy the results.
The traditional folkloric music of Kenya has not received the same global exposure as that of Nigeria, Ethiopia, South Africa or North Africa for example and one of the objectives of this project was to try and build on this. The band draw on a broad spectrum of African influences, from Fela Kuti and Tony Allen to the likes of Thomas Mapfumo and Oumou Sangare, but bar Jesse’s participation with Damon Albarn’s Africa Express, this was the first opportunity for Jesse Hackett (keys), Louis Hackett (bass), Sam Lewis (guitar), Chris Morphitis (bouzouki/guitar) and Tom Skinner (drums) to visit specifically for a musical project.
The boys’ first trip to Nairobi was in January 2009 to meet and collaborate with two Kenyan musicians: Joseph Nyamungo and Charles Okoko who hail from a village up country called Owiny Sigoma. The workshop/rehearsals were a lot of fun and pretty fruitful – “They acted as a skills exchange and a way of sharing our music. We learned some of their songs and they learned some of our songs too,” explains Tom. Finding a studio that could accomodate a 7-piece live band wasn’t easy but eventually they holed up in an amazing disused factory space to record. The resulting four tracks made their way to Gilles Peterson who promptly signed the band to his Brownswood imprint and sent the boys back to Nairobi for another week-long recording session with Joseph, Charles and their extended musical family.
The results are documented on the band’s forthcoming album – a collection of gloriously hypnotic Afro grooves symbolic of the true culture clash between the Luo and London. The project will finally be released on 2nd May 2011, preceded by a 12” boasting a monstrous Theo Parrish remix available exclusively via Record Store Day on 16th April 2011. The Motor City legend stripped back the melodic content to the bare essentials and built one of his trademark twisted trips in a whirlwind session with Floating Points at Eglo Studios, London.
