Ofer Grunwald erforscht die Spannung zwischen Dynamik und Stillstand, um sich verändernde Werke zu schaffen. "Lorem Ipsum" trägt die Entwicklung eines Bonsai-Baumes über 30 Jahre hinweg in sich überlagernden Schichten aus Acrylglas zusammen. Hierdurch entsteht das Gefühl von verschwommener Bewegung und sich ständig verändernden Perspektiven in einem statischen Objekt.

"Lorem Ipsum" compiles the development of a bonsai tree over 30 years into overlapping layers of acrylic glass, creating a sense of blurry motion and perpetually shifting perspectives in a static object.

Dieses Motiv war eine der ersten Fotografien, die ich ausgestellt habe, entstanden am 12. 02. 2009 mit meiner ersten Digitalkamera. Die Aufnahme ist mir sehr ans Herz gewachsen, allerdings zeige ich die alte Version nicht mehr, weil ich inzwischen höhere Ansprüche an meine Bilder stelle. Leider habe ich zu dieser Zeit noch nicht im RAW-Format fotografiert, sondern das jpeg mit Photoshop elements bearbeitet. Nun habe ich die alte Datei noch mal herausgekramt und mittels Photoshop Bridge in CameraRAW geöffnet. Nach der Entwicklung in CameraRAW habe ich sie mit Photoshop, Viveza und Perfect efex bearbeitet.

This motif was one of the first photographs I placed in an exhibition, taken on February 12, 2009 with my first digital camera. I like the photo still very much but I no longer show the old version because I now place higher demands on my pictures. Unfortunately at that time I did not take photos in RAW format, but edited the jpeg with Photoshop elements. Now I dug out the old file again and opened it in CameraRAW using Photoshop Bridge. After developing it in CameraRAW, I edited it with Photoshop, Viveza and Perfect efex.

Mitunter zeigt sich der Abendhimmel bei Sonnenuntergang von seiner schönsten Seite. An diesem Abend waren die Wolken in Horizonthöhe in ein rosarotesLicht getaucht. Solche Beleuchtungsverhältnisse sind immer eine Herausforderung für den Fotograf. Nicht nur die Aufnahme muss stimmen, sondern auch die nachfolgende Bildentwicklung. Für diese Aufnahme habe ich eine Belichtungsreihe von 7 Bildern gemacht und mittels HDR-Entwicklung und einer nachfolgenden Hauptentwicklung das Ergebnisbild erhalten. Ich wünsche allen Fotofreunden ein schönes Wochenende und wie sagt man ... gut Licht.

Occasionally, the evening sky at sunset shows its best side. That evening the clouds were bathed in a pink-red light at horizon-height. Such lighting conditions are always a challenge for the photographer. Not only the recording must be correct, but also the subsequent image development. For this recording, I took an exposure series of 7 images and obtained the result image by means of HDR development and a subsequent main development. I wish all photographers a nice weekend and how do you say ... good light.

The cologne cathedral and the Hohenzollern Bridge at night. A scene I decided to use for documenting my progress as a photographer. Every year I try to come here for making a shot. Same subject, same position. This is the forth version. In contrast to the last years variation not as a HDR.

Jedes Jahr versuche ich einmal hierher zu kommen und ein Foto zu machen. Selbes Motiv, selbe Stelle. Das hier ist inzwischen die vierte Version. Im Gegensatz zur Variante von letztem Jahr nicht als HDR.

This is a rose blossom from our garden. No, this picture is not up-to-date either. I made this a few months ago. Most of it has faded here now.

What I loved about this scene is that it captures four stages in the development of a rose flower in one image. From the small baby bud to the big flower that is about to fade.

Das ist eine Rosenblüte aus unserem Garten. Nein, auch dieses Bild ist nicht aktuell. Das habe ich bereits vor ein paar Monaten aufgenommen. Inzwischen ist hier das Meiste verblüht.

Was mir an dieser Szene so sehr gefallen hat ist, dass hier vier Stufen der Entwicklung einer Rosenblüte auf einem Bild vereint sind. Von der kleinen Baby-Knospe bis hin zur Großen Blüte, die kurz vor dem Verblühen steht.

Wir waren eine Woche zu Gast auf Tromsö / Tromsø - im tiefsten Winter. Es waren unvergessliche Eindrücke, so viel Schnee sah ich noch nie zuvor.

Fomatone 132, Lithprint (Kontakt von einem Kallitypie Drucknegativ) mit speziell für Fomatone Papier abgestimmten Easy Lith FT.

Fomatone und Foma Retrobrom sind die einzigen Papiere aus aktueller Fertigung mit denen farbig gelithet werden kann. Auch das unter dem Oriental Label vertriebene Warmtone ist schon seit Jahren eine Fomatone Emulsion.

In den letzten Jahren traten beim Lithen von Fomatonepapieren Fehler auf. Die Ursache ist laut Foma eine andere Gelatinequalität ab der Chargen-Nr. 0777. Bei Entwicklungszeiten über 6 Minuten können sowohl größere kreisförmige Flecken (Snowball-Effekt), als auch an Marmoroberfächen erinnernde Strukturen auftauchen.

Für den SE5 Lith-Entwickler habe ich schon mehrfach auf die Möglichkeiten der Vermeidung dieser Fehler hingewiesen. Für den fertig abgestimmten Easy Lith besteht natürlich auch die Möglichkeit, durch Zugabe von Lith D und einen veränderten Workflow, dieses Übel zu verhindern. Für Anwender, die ausschließlich mit Fomatone oder Retrobrom Papieren lithen möchten, kann ich eine Variante des Easy A Konzentrates anbieten, bei welcher die beötigte Menge von Entwicklungsverzögerern schon enthalten ist.

Es mag auf den ersten Blick nicht einleuchtend erscheinen, einerseits kurze Entwicklungszeiten als Problemlösung vorzuschlagen, andererseits eine höhere Dosierung bremsender Substanzen zu verwenden. Zum Verständnis sei nochmals auf den Zusammenhang von hoher Lichtmenge für farbige Resultate und die daraus resultierende Notwendigkeit einer hohen Verdünnung des Entwicklers hingewiesen, um damit bei Zeiten zwischen 8 bis 12 Minuten sowohl farbige Lichter und tiefe Lithschatten zu erreichen. Bis vor einigen Jahren hat der Prozeß so funktioniert. Um die oben genannten Fehler zu vermeiden, sollte die Entwicklung mit den aktuellen Fomatone Chargen jedoch nach etwa 6 Minuten abgeschlossen sein. Sind also farbige Ergebnisse (wie früher) angestrebt, benötigt das Papier eine starke Überbelichtung. Der Entwickler darf aber nicht stark verdünnt werden um eine zu schnelle Entwicklung zu vermeiden. Bei der vorgeschlagenen Mischung von 50ml A + 50ml B auf ca. 900ml Wasser, müßte der Entwicklungsvorgang nach 2-3 Minuten abgebrochen werden, ein echter Litheffekt kann so nicht entstehen. Wenn derart fetten Entwicklern jodoch einen Verzögerer zugesetzt wird, landet man bei gegebener Lichtmenge (für hohe Farbigkeit) bei Entwicklungszeiten zwischen 5 und 6 Minuten. Wird mit einem zweiten Bad gearbeitet, sei es eine reine Alkalilösung, oder ein anderer Entwickler, entstehen keine Fehler, auch wenn die Gesamtentwicklungszeit dann bei 8 Minuten oder länger liegen kann.

Bei den speziell für Fomatone abgestimmten Konzentraten, kann die Arbeitslösung mit etwas weniger B angesetzt werden, wenn ein zweites Bad mit Alkalilösung erforderlich sein sollte. Beispielsweise kann dann mit 5 ml B das zweite Bad mit ca. 500 ml Wasser angesetzt werden.

Fomatone and Foma Retrobrom are the only papers currently in production that can be used for colourful lith prints. Oriental Warmtone is also a Fomatone emulsion since some years.

In recent years, errors have occurred in the lithing of Foma papers. According to Foma, the cause is a different gelatine quality from batch no. 0777 onwards. With development times of more than 6 minutes, both larger circular spots (snowball effect) and structures reminiscent of marble surfaces can appear.

For the SE5 Lith developer I have already pointed out several times how to avoid these defects. For the ready-tuned Easy Lith there is of course also the possibility to prevent this evil by adding Lith D and a modified workflow. For users who want to lith exclusively with Fomatone or Retrobrom papers, I can offer a variant of the Easy A concentrate, which already contains the necessary amount of development retarders.

At first glance, it may not seem plausible to suggest short development times as a solution to the problem on the one hand and to use a higher dosage of retarding substances on the other. For the sake of understanding, Ie would like to point out the relationship between a high amount of light for coloured results and the resulting necessity of a high dilution of the developer in order to achieve both coloured highlights and deep lith shadows at times between 8 and 12 minutes. Until a few years ago, this is how the process worked. However, to avoid the faults mentioned above, development with the current batches of Fomatone should be completed after about 6 minutes. So if coloured results (as in the past) are desired, the paper needs a strong overexposure. However, the developer must not be heavily diluted to avoid too fast development. With the suggested mixture of 50ml A + 50ml B on approx. 900ml water, the development process would have to be interrupted after 2-3 minutes, a real lith effect cannot be created in this way. If, however, a retarder is added to such fat developers, you will end up with development times of between 5 and 6 minutes for a given amount of light (for high colourfulness). If a second bath is used, be it a pure alkaline solution or another developer, no defects occur, even if the total development time can then be 8 minutes or more.

With the concentrates specially adapted for Fomatone, the working solution can be prepared with slightly less B if a second bath with alkaline solution should be necessary. For example, 5 ml B can be used to prepare the second bath with approx. 500 ml water.

Bis 2003 war das Gelände des Römerparks Ruffenhofen landwirtschaftlich genutzte Ackerfläche. Um das darunter liegende Bodendenkmal - Römerkastell und zugehörige Zivilsiedlung - zu schützen, wurden im Jahr 2002/2003 ca. 40 ha Fläche über das Amt für Ländliche Entwicklung Mittelfranken angekauft und in Wiesen umgewandelt. Diese schützen das Bodendenkmal, da kein Bodenumbruch (Pflügen u. Ä.) mehr stattfindet. Seit dem 15. Juli 2005 gehört der Römerpark Ruffenhofen als Teil des römischen Grenzsystems zum UNESCO-Welterbe Limes.

Until 2003, the area of the Ruffenhofen Roman Park was used as agricultural land. In order to protect the underlying archaeological monument - Roman fort and associated civilian settlement - in 2002/2003, approx. 40 hectares of land were purchased through the Office for Rural Development of Central Franconia and converted into meadows. These protect the archaeological monument, as no more soil is turned over (plowing, etc.). Since July 15, 2005, the Ruffenhofen Roman Park has belonged to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Limes as part of the Roman border system.

Explored November 15, 2020

Before I continue my casual series of the Berlin Olympic Stadium, here's another photo from my visit to the Olympic Village of 1936 with 3-day-beard / 3-tage-bart, bananahh, and magritknapp.

Heavily (over-)processed for Sliders Sunday. It shows the Olympic Village's gym. I wish it were possible to re-visit the Olympic Village (or what is left of it) with a tripod and a wider lens, but guided tours have been discontinued in 2020 – not because of the Corona/Covid-19 situation, but because the site of the Olympic Village is under (re-)construction as a housing area called "G.O.L.D. Gartenstadt Olympisches Dorf von 1936®" ("Gold Garden City Olympic Village of 1936"). So actually we were very, very lucky to still have gotten hold of a tour back in September 2018 – a once-in-a-lifetime photographic opportunity. It also means that I have to make do with the photographic yield achieved mostly with my little Lumix LX100 (and without a tripod, because I thought that I couldn't bring one – a stupid mistake).

In 2018 the Lumix had still been new and I hadn't figured out all the functions properly, yet (well, I still haven't); this image would have definitely benefited from the use of the HDR bracketing mode, but it simply hadn't been on my radar back then. So this image also was the ultimate test for the new DxO Photo Lab 4: an image with obvious flaws such as lots of noise and mushy details. DxO PL 4 has a new AI de-noising technology called "Deep Prime" (which only works with RAW files, so make sure to process the file in DxO first before you export it to LR). And I must say that I'm quite impressed. Since this image is obviously more about atmosphere than image quality I also added a subtle HDR look in HDR Efex (preset "End of the road" tweaked to my liking and blended in with the original file in PS at 79 % opacity); I like the soft glow and slightly painterly look HDR Efex added to it. I hope you like it, too, and that you can forgive the poor all-over image quality :)

And speaking of atmosphere: The photo board in the background displays original images from the Olympic Summer Games of 1936 – and the image on the far right is a portrait of Jesse Owens, the athlete who dominated the games of '36. This, the lifetime friendship he had built with German long jumper Luz Long (Long was fatally injured during WWII in 1943, but the Owens and Long families have stayed in contact to this day), and the fact Jesse Owens also was the undisputed crowd favourite, publicly reduced the ugly racist ideology of the Nazi regime to absurdity – alas, as we all know, only for those two summer weeks of 1936...

Bevor es mit meiner losen Serie von Berliner Olympiastadion weitergeht, streue ich für den Sliders Sunday ein weiteres Foto vom Olympischen Dorf in Elstal ein. Da die (geführten) Touren dort leider eingestellt wurden (nicht etwa wegen der Corona-Situation, sondern weil mittlerweile die Bauarbeiten für die neue Wohnanlage "G.O.L.D. Gartenstadt Olympisches Dorf von 1936®" weiter fortgeschritten sind), war der Besuch dort (zusammen mit 3-day-beard / 3-tage-bart, bananahh, and magritknapp) tatsächlich eine einmalige fotografische Gelegenheit – und das bedeutet auch, dass ich mit den Fotos vorliebnehmen muss, die ich damals überwiegend mit meiner kleinen Lumix LX100 (und blöderweise ohne Stativ, weil ich dachte, ich dürfte keins mitbringen) gemacht habe.

Insbesondere diese Aufnahme hätte sicher von der Verwendung des HDR-Belichtungsreihen-Modus profitiert, aber da die Kamera damals noch recht neu war, hatte ich diese Feinheiten noch nicht auf dem Schirm gehabt. Das Resultat ist, insbesondere hier, sicher eindeutig mehr unter Atmosphäre denn unter Bildqualität einzuordnen. Eine Einzelaufnahme, bei der aufgrund der schwierigen Lichtverhältnisse in der Turnhalle des Olympischen Dorfes die dunklen Bereiche nach dem Aufhellen reichlich verrauscht sowie nur noch mit spärlichen Details versehen waren. Da konnte sich dann gleich mal das gerade erschienene DxO Photo Lab 4 beweisen. Und ich finde, das Resultat kann sich durchaus sehen lassen, wenn man ein Auge zudrückt ;) DxO hat das brandneue KI-Entrauschungstool "Deep Prime" an Bord, das tatsächlich mit zu dem Besten zählt, was es momentan in diesem Bereich gibt (wie z.B. Topaz DeNoise AI, das auch hervorragende Arbeit leistet, aber DxO legt hier noch einmal eine Schippe drauf). "Deep Prime" funktioniert übrigens nur mit den originalen RAW-Dateien, sodass man den Workflow entsprechend anpassen muss: Die (Vor-)Entwicklung in DxO muss der erste Schritt sein, erst danach kann man z.B. in LR oder anderen Programmen weitermachen.

Hier habe ich das Foto nach den grundlegenden Anpassungen nur noch in HDR Efex nachberabeitet, ausgehend vom Preset "Ende der Straße" (zu finden unter "Surreal"), das ich noch angepasst habe und anschließend mit dem Originalbild in PS mit 79 % Deckkraft überblendet habe. Also, wie gesagt, seid bitte bzgl. Bildqualität / Details / Schärfe dieses Mal nicht ganz so streng :)

Apropos Atmosphäre: Die Fotowand im Hintergrund zeigt Originalbilder der Spiele von 1936 – und ganz rechts seht Ihr ein Portrait von Jesse Owens, dem unangefochtenen Star der Spiele. Die sportliche Überlegenheit Jesse Owens', die Freundschaft mit dem deutschen Weitsprung-Star Luz Long (die übrigens bis heute von beiden Familien gepflegt wird, auch wenn Long bereits 1943 im Krieg tödlich verwundet wurde) sowie die Tatsache, dass Owens der absolute Publikumsliebling war, führten damals die hässliche Nazi-Rassentheorie öffentlich ad absurdum. Aber, wie wir alle wissen, leider nur während jener zwei Wochen im Sommer 1936...

The Millennium tower is at 60 metres (200 ft), one of the highest wooden towers in the world. The tower houses an exhibition on the development of sciences, which is supported by many descriptive experiments with which the visitor can interact.

Der Jahrtausendturm wurde anlässlich der Bundesgartenschau 1999 im Magdeburger Elbauenpark errichtet. Darin befindet sich eine Ausstellung zur Entwicklung der Wissenschaften, mit vielen anschaulichen, teils interaktiven Experimenten.

Das ist ein sehr alter Abzug, rückseitig beschriftet nur mit "Kentmere VC". Er gefällt mir, aber leider weiss ich nichts mehr über seine Entwicklung. Ich vermute eine Vortonung mit Schwefel (MT3?) und Eisenblautonung MT7.

Das ausgefranste Ende des Lesezeichens war zunächst als unperfektes Motiv gedacht. Auf der Mattscheibe der Kamera habe ich das einzelne, fast schon herausfallende Haar nicht gesehen. Erst bei der Entwicklung des Fotos am Computer habe ich es bemerkt – eine schöne Überraschung.

If there's one plant that, despite its fame, is still underestimated, it's today's hidden beauty. The flower is a marvel and a feast for the eyes at every stage of its development. There are also a few impressive details.

The plant has been used as a vegetable or medicinal plant for over 5,000 years. The ancient Egyptians even offered them to the gods as an offering.

It was the medicinal plant of the year 2015. It lowers blood pressure and blood sugar levels and helps with colds, coughs and insect bites.

And last but not least (hence the name of the picture) it is incredibly rich in vitamins (from A to E everything is included) and antioxidants.

In addition, it gives every dish that certain touch because it acts as a natural flavor enhancer (bye bye glutamate).

Wenn es eine Pflanze gibt, die trotz ihrer Berühmtheit immernoch unterschätzt wird, dann ist das unsere heutige versteckte Schönheit. Die Blüte allein ist ein Wunderwerk und in jeder Phase ihrer Entwicklung eine Augenweide. Hinzu kommen noch ein paar beeindruckende Details.

Die Pflanze kommt bereits seit über 5.000 Jahren als Gemüse- oder auch Heilpflanze zum Einsatz. Die alten Äqypter haben sie sogar den Göttern als Opfergabe dargebracht.

Sie war die Heilpflanze des Jahres 2015, senkt den Blutdruck, den Blutzuckerspiegel und hilft bei Erkältungen, Husten oder auch bei Insektenstichen.

Und nicht zuletzt (daher der Name des Bildes) ist sie unfassbar reich an Vitaminen (von A bis E ist alles dabei) und Antioxidantien.

Darüber hinaus verleiht sie jedem Gericht erst die gewisse Note, denn sie wirkt als natürlicher Geschmacksverstärker (bye bye Glutamat)..

When the pocket watch stops, wind it carefully with the small wheel above the 12 so that it indicates the time again. If you pull it too far, the spring in the movement tears and it has to be repaired. Meanwhile, it's an expensive pleasure.

Die Entwicklung der Uhren, hat sich von der Taschenuhr meines Großvaters mit einem sehr schönen Uhrwerk, das täglich aufgezogen werden muss, hin zu den mit einer Batterie versehenden Uhr entwickelt.

Wenn die Taschenuhr stehen bleibt wird sie mit dem Rädchen, oberhalb der 12, vorsichtig aufgezogen damit sie die Zeit wieder anzeigt. Zieht man sie zu weit auf, reißt die Feder im Uhrwerk und sie muss zur Reparatur. Ein inzwischen teures Vergnügen.

Einmal im Jahr wird sie von einem Uhrmacher gesäubert und gewartet.

Bei meiner Armbanduhr muss nur die Batterie ausgewechselt werden, voila sie zeigt wieder die Zeit an.

Zur Präsentation meiner Uhren habe ich sie auf mein Backrool Orange (ein Sportgerät) drapiert.

Le développement des montres a évolué de la montre de poche de mon grand-père avec un beau mouvement qui doit être remonté tous les jours, à la montre avec une batterie.

Lorsque la montre de poche s'arrête, enroulez-la soigneusement avec la petite roue au-dessus du 12 pour qu'elle indique à nouveau l'heure. Si vous tirez trop loin, le ressort du mouvement se brisera et il devra être réparé. Un plaisir coûteux en attendant.

Une fois par an, il est nettoyé et entretenu par un horloger.

Avec ma montre, tout ce que j'ai à faire est de changer la pile, voila elle fonctionne bien jusqu' à la prochaine fois que je la change.

Je l'ai drapée sur mon Backrool Orange (un équipement de sport) pour présenter mes montres.

El desarrollo de los relojes ha evolucionado desde el reloj de bolsillo de mi abuelo con un bello movimiento que tiene que ser devanado diariamente, hasta el reloj con una pila.

Cuando el reloj de bolsillo se detiene, dé cuerda cuidadosamente con la rueda pequeña por encima de los 12 para que indique la hora de nuevo. Si lo tira demasiado, el resorte del movimiento se romperá y debe ser reparado. Un placer caro mientras tanto.

Una vez al año, es limpiada y mantenida por un relojero.

Con mi reloj, todo lo que tengo que hacer es cambiar la pila, voila funciona bien hasta la próxima vez que lo cambie.

Quando o relógio de bolso parar, com cuidado, arraste a roda pequena acima do 12 para indicar o tempo novamente. Se você puxá-lo muito longe, a mola de movimento irá quebrar e deve ser reparada. Um entretanto caro.

Uma vez por ano, é limpo e mantido por um relojoeiro.

Com o meu relógio, tudo o que tenho a fazer é mudar a bateria, o voila funciona bem até a próxima vez que eu mudar.

Lo sviluppo degli orologi si è evoluto da orologio da tasca di mio nonno con un bel movimento che deve essere ricaricato ogni giorno, per l' orologio con una batteria.

Quando l' orologio da tasca si ferma, caricarlo con cautela con la rotellina sopra il 12 in modo che indichi nuovamente il tempo. Se lo si tira troppo in là, la molla nel movimento si romperà e deve essere riparata. Un piacere costoso nel frattempo.

Una volta all' anno, viene pulito e sottoposto a manutenzione da un orologiaio.

Con il mio orologio, tutto quello che devo fare è cambiare la batteria, voila funziona bene fino alla prossima volta che lo cambio.

L' ho drappeggiato sul mio Backrool Orange (un equipaggiamento sportivo) per presentare i miei orologi.

Deutscher Dom | German Cathedral #2

Explored June 4th 2020

Part two of my mini series of the German Cathedral. This is a view of the tower's interior, right up to the cupola. Taken handheld (tripods aren't allowed inside) and in "neck pain" position since the Lumix LX100 doesn't have a swivel screen. You might be surprised to see raw concrete inside of a building that was erected between 1780–1785. This is due to the fact that the German Cathedral was badly damaged by an air raid in November 1943. When the German Cathedral was reconstructed in the 1980s, The exterior, as you can see in my previous photo, was reproduced true to the original, while the interior was modernised and the raw concrete spiral staircase construction was added. Since 2002 the German Cathedral houses the permanent exhibition "Milestones - Setbacks - Sidetracks. The Path to Parliamentary Democracy in Germany" on five levels of the tower (the highest level leads visitors right below the cupola). That exhibition is a further development of the exhibition "Fragen an die Deutsche Geschichte" ("Questions to German History"), which has been on display in the Reichstag building from 1971 to 1996; since 1996, the German Cathedral houses the exhibition on German parliamentary history which has already been visited by several million people.

Teil 2 meiner Mini-Serie vom Deutschen Dom. Hier nun der Blick ins Innere des Turms, aufgenommen aus der Hand und in äußerst unbequemer "Nackenstarre"-Position, da die Lumix LX100 leider über kein Schwenk- oder Klappdisplay verfügt. Der Anblick von Sichtbeton in einem Gebäude, das zwischen 1780 und 1785 erbaut wurde, mag zunächst erstaunen, ist aber schlicht der Tatsache geschuldet, dass der Deutsche Dom, der im November 1943 schwer durch einen Luftangriff beschädigt wurde, bei seiner Rekonstruktion in den 1980er-Jahren nur äußerlich originalgetreu wiederhergestellt wurde, in seinem Inneren jedoch modern. Seit 1996 ist der Deutsche Dom auf fünf Ebenen (die oberste Ebene führt die Besucher direkt unter die Kuppel) das Zuhause der Ausstellung "Fragen an die Deutsche Geschichte", die von 1971 bis 1996 im Reichstagsgebäude besichtigt werden konnte. Im Jahre 2002 wurde diese parlamentshistorische Ausstellung des Bundestages weiterentwickelt und läuft im Deutschen Dom seit 2002 unter dem Titel "Wege – Irrwege – Umwege: die Entwicklung der parlamentarischen Demokratie in Deutschland". Wenn Ihr mal in Berlin seid: Auch die Ausstellung lohnt einen Besuch – sie wurde auch bereits von mehreren Millionen Besuchern besichtigt.

Der Bestand der Rotmilane hat sich in den letzten Jahren in Süd-Hessen stark vergrößert. Ich habe sogar fast den Eindruck, dass die Milane bei uns in der Gegend die Bussarde als häufigsten/größten Greifvogel abgelöst haben. Da beide unterschiedliche Beute schlagen sollte es keine direkte Nahrungskonkurrenz zwischen den beiden Arten geben. Vielleicht hängt die Veränderung in der Anzahl auch wieder mit dem Klimawandel zusammen. Mal abwarten, wie die Entwicklung weitergeht. Wer weiss, vielleicht tauchen hier an der Bergstrasse in ein paar Jahren wenn die Wälder im hessischen Ried weg sind ja auch noch Geier auf. 😋

Tech. Info: Der Milan ist relativ niedrig auf mich zugeflogen, die "Schwierigkeit" bei diesem Foto war eigentlich nur den Vogel nicht im Gegenlicht zu erwischen, sondern idealerweise mit der Sonne in meinem Rücken, am besten so, dass das Licht ihn auch unten etwas ausleuchtet. Das hilft nicht nur bei den Schattenpartien, sondern auch mit dem Himmelsblau. Die niedrige ISO hilft wiederum den maximalen Helligkeitsumfang des Sensors auszunutzen.

Um diesen schönen Jäger besonders detailreich sehen zu können, drückt die Tasten l (kleines L) und F11. Beim vergrößern nur durch Anklicken gehen euch viele Details verloren.

The population of red kites has increased significantly in southern Hesse in recent years. I almost have the impression that the kites have replaced the buzzards as the most common largest bird of prey in our area. Since both take different prey, there should be no direct food competition between the two species. Perhaps the change in numbers is also related to climate change. I guess we have to wait and see. Who knows, maybe vultures will appear here on the Bergstrasse (-> mountain street) in a few years when the last forests in the Rhine plain are gone. 😋

Tech info: The Kite flew towards me pretty low, the "difficulty" with this photo was mainly not to catch the bird against the sun, but ideally with the sun behind me, ideally in an angle that the light also illuminates it a little from below. This not only helps with the shadow areas, but also with the colour of the sky. The low ISO, in turn, helps to exploit the maximum brightness range of the sensor.

The Millennium tower is at 60 metres (200 ft), one of the highest wooden towers in the world. The tower houses an exhibition on the development of sciences, which is supported by many descriptive experiments with which the visitor can interact.

Der Jahrtausendturm wurde anlässlich der Bundesgartenschau 1999 im Magdeburger Elbauenpark errichtet. Darin befindet sich eine Ausstellung zur Entwicklung der Wissenschaften, mit vielen anschaulichen, teils interaktiven Experimenten.

Nach konventioneller Entwicklung erzeugt der MT4 Siena Toner, ohne vorherige Bleichung, einen braunen oder rötlich gelben Bildton und nach einer Bleichung einen gelblichen Ton.

Nach Lith- oder Polychrome-Entwicklung geht die Farbe in Richtung blaugrün bis blau. Je wärmer der ursprüngliche Farbton, desto stärker ist der Ausschlag in eine komplimentäre Richtung.

Alle Prints auf eine alte Charge Fomabrom N 111.

Links: SE15 Polychrome, MT4 Siena 1+500 1 Minute, etwas weniger farbig als die Ergebnisse auf Warmtonemulsionen, wie die beiden Prints zuvor, doch mit ähnlicher Wirkungsweise.

Dagegen ist die Farbigkeit deutlich geringer nach einer einfachen Lithentwicklung (Mitte), obwohl der Toner weniger stark verdünnt wurde (1+35) und länger getont wurde (2 Minuten).

Rechts: Wenn mehr Farbe erwünscht ist, kann im nächsten Schritt, der bereits getonte Print gebleicht (1+75 1 Minute) und nochmals getont werden. Die Lichter erscheinen dann rötlichgelb mit blaugrünen Übergängen zu den Schatten.

After conventional development, the MT4 Siena Toner, without prior bleaching, produces a brown or reddish yellow image tone and after bleaching a yellowish tone.

After lith or polychrome development, the colour goes towards blue-green to blue. The warmer the original hue, the stronger the swing in a complimentary direction.

Left: SE15 Polychrome, MT4 Siena 1+500 1 minute, slightly less colourful than the results on warm tone emulsions, like the two prints before, but with a similar effect.

In contrast, the colourfulness is much less after a simple lith development (centre), although the toner was diluted less (1+35) and toned longer (2 minutes).

Right: If more colour is desired, the next step is to bleach the already toned print (1+75 1 minute) and tone it again. The highlights then appear reddish yellow with blue-green transitions to the shadows.

Diese herbstliche Szene habe ich in meinem Heimatort aufgenommen. Die gelben Blätter der umliegenden Bäume stehen im Kontrast zu dem rustikalen Holzhaus und der grünen Wiese. Es war regnerisch an diesem Tag und ich musste mich beeilen, die Aufnahme schnell auf den Chip zu kriegen, weil die Kamera dem Regen ausgesetzt war. Auf der Dachfläche des Holzhauses befand sich bereits viel Moos. Ich machte insgesamt 7 Einzelaufnahmen und entwickelte diese mittels meinem HDR-Programm. Im Ergebnis hatte ich dann aus den 7 Einzelaufnahmen ein einziges Bild als Ergebnis. Nur dadurch konnte ich die Lichtverhältnisse zu diesem Zeitpunkt real festhalten. Nach der HDR-Entwicklung stand dann noch einmal eine "normale" Entwicklung an. Als ich von meinem Spaziergang wieder zuhause angekommen war, musste ich die nasse Kamera erst einmal trocknen lassen. Gott sei Dank war keine Feuchtigkeit ins Gehäuse eingedrungen. Manchmal übertreibt man es eben ...

I recorded this autumnal scene in my hometown. The yellow leaves of the surrounding trees contrast with the rustic wooden house and the green lawn. It was rainy that day and I had to hurry to get the shot on the chip quickly because the camera was exposed to rain. There was already a lot of moss on the roof of the wooden house. I took a total of 7 individual shots and developed them using my HDR program. As a result, I had from the 7 individual shots a single image as a result. Only then could I really capture the lighting conditions at this time. After the development of the HDR, a "normal" development was then again. When I came home from my walk, I had to let the wet camera dry first. Thankfully, no moisture had penetrated the case. Sometimes it just exaggerates ...

East Harbour Bridge: 2.300 tons of steel, cast into a tied arch shape, with a span of 175 metres, an arch rise of 25 meters, slim, floating and illuminated at night. Here the river Main runs. Die Osthafenbrücke ist eine Straßenbrücke über den Main in Frankfurt. Sie verbindet das Frankfurter Ostend nördlich des Mains am Osthafen mit Sachsenhausen und von dort mit der Bundesautobahn 661.

Erste Pläne für eine Straßenbrücke entstanden bereits 1907, wurden aber nach der Fertigstellung des Osthafens 1912 nicht weiterverfolgt.

Im Rahmen des Gesamtverkehrsplans 2004 und der Entwicklung des Großmarktareals zum künftigen Standort der Europäischen Zentralbank (EZB) wurde die Planung einer Mainbrücke wieder aufgenommen und diese am 10. Dezember 2013 dem Verkehr übergeben. Die Brücke verfügt über eine dreispurige Straßenverbindung (zwei in Richtung Süden, eine in Richtung Norden) sowie zwei kombinierte Geh- und Radwege.

Als ich am nächsten Tag den Baumstumpf aufsuchte erschrak ich zunächst. Es war nichts mehr zu sehen. Durch die Lupe betrachtet entdeckte ich schließlich das eigentliche Fadenstäubchen, so wie ich es in diesem Bild fotografisch festgehalten habe, lachsfarben und völlig intakt. Am Boden sind noch seltsame milchig-weiße Flecken zu sehen. Ein weiteres Plasmodium?

Gestern am Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin-Mitte. Im Vordergrund ist der Deutsche Dom zu sehen, der heute für Ausstellungen genutzt wird. Auf fünf Ebenen wird die Entwicklung von den Anfängen des Parlamentarismus seit 1848 - bis in die heutige Zeit in Deutschland erzählt.

Der Französischer Dom an der Nordseite, wurde 1701–1705 für reformierte Glaubensflüchtlinge aus Frankreich, die Hugenotten, errichtet,im Bild Hintergrund zu sehen. Sie nach wie vor eine evangelische Kirche. Zusätzlich beherbergt der Französische Dom das Hugenotten-museum.

"An beide Kirchen ließ der preußische König Friedrich II. 1785 zwei fast identische, funktionslose Türme anbauen, ausschließlich zugunsten der Prachtentfaltung und der städtebaulichen Wirkung. Hier au Gendarmenmarkt à Berlin-Mitte. Au premier plan se trouve la cathédrale allemande, qui est aujourd'hui utilisée pour des expositions. Sur cinq niveaux, l'évolution depuis les débuts du parlementarisme en 1848 jusqu'à nos jours en Allemagne est racontée.

La cathédrale française du côté nord a été construite en 1701-1705 pour les réfugiés religieux réformés de France, les huguenots, et peut être vue sur la photo à l'arrière-plan. C'est toujours une église protestante. De plus, la cathédrale française abrite le musée huguenot.

For over 30 years I have developed my 35mm and roll films myself. The films were placed in complete darkness on this spiral and then placed in the associated box with a light-tight lid. Then the light was switched on again, the developer was poured into it and the can was moved evenly for about 5 minutes. Finally, the development chemistry was distributed and replaced by the fixation. Move again for a few minutes. Then it just needed watering. In the end, always the exciting question: Did I take good pictures and made no mistake in the development. This tension no longer occurs in digital photography. Sometimes a pity!

Über 30 Jahre lang habe ich meine Kleinbild- und auch Rollfilme selber entwickelt. Die Filme wurden bei völliger Dunkelheit auf diese Spirale geschoben und dann in die dazugehörige Dose mit lichtdichtem Deckel gestellt. Anschließend konnte das Licht wieder eingeschaltet werden, der Entwickler wurde hineingeschüttet und die Dose ca. 5 Minuten gleichmäßig bewegt. Zum Schluss wurde die Entwicklungschemie ausgeschüttet und durch die Fixierung ersetzt. Nochmal einige Minuten lang bewegen. Dann brauchte nur noch gewässert werden. Am Ende immer die spannende Frage: Habe ich gut fotografiert und auch keinen Fehler bei der Entwicklung gemacht. Diese Spannung kommt bei der Digitalfotografie nicht mehr auf. Manchmal schade!

Durch die Verfügbarkeit technisch-wissenschaftlicher Taschenrechner (beginnend 1972, also vor fünfzig Jahren, mit Hewlett-Packards HP-35) wurde in kurzer Zeit der Rechenschieber verdrängt und die tägliche Arbeit von Ingenieuren und Naturwissenschaftlern drastisch verändert. Diese Entwicklung wäre natürlich – wie viele andere – undenkbar gewesen ohne Transistoren und ihre miniaturisierte Zusammenführung in integrierten Schaltungen. Im Jahr 1972 war die Verdrängung der Elektronenröhre mit ihrem geradezu romantisch erscheinenden Glühen zwar schon weit fortgeschritten, aber noch nicht vollendet.

Das Lehrbuch Fundamentals of Electronic Circuits [Grundlagen der elektronischen Schaltungen] von Arthur L. Pike, Prentice-Hall, 1971, berücksichtigt beide Technologien gleichermassen.

Eine Stadtansicht zur Blauen Stunde

Von der Friedenauer Brücke im Kiez Friedenau der zu dem Bezirk Tempelhof-Schöneberg gehört, geht der Blick in Richtung Berlin-Mitte. Im Vordergrund links die S-Bahnlinie 1 von Wannsee – nach Oranienburg mit dem S-Bahnstation „Friedenau“ .

Rechts von den Schienen die Schnellstraße „Westtangente“ die am Steglitzer Kreisel beginnt und parallel bis zum S-Bahnhof Schöneberg verläuft, wir sehen die Brücke des Bahnhofs die zum Berliner S - Bahnring gehört.

In der rechten Mitte ist das weithin sichtbare Wahrzeichen des Bezirkes, der Schöneberger Gasometer zu sehen. Hier ist seit 2008 der EUREF-Campus angesiedelt

„Seit 2007 wird der 5,5 Hektar große EUREF-Campus zu einer sogenannten Smart City für Arbeiten, Forschen, Bilden und Wohnen entwickelt. Im Mittelpunkt der Entwicklung stehen energetisch optimierte Gebäude, ein lokales „Micro Smart-Grid“, Mobilitätssharing sowie die Nutzung regenerativer Energien wie Biomethan. Alle Gebäude sind per Smart Metring an ein lokales Energienetz angeschlossen, das ihren Verbrauch zentral misst und steuert. Der EUREF-Campus ist heute ein Referenzort für die Smart City-Strategie des Landes Berlin.

Links hinter dem Gasometer wird der Fernsehturm sichtbar der seit gestern in den Regenbogenfarben angeleuchtet sein soll. Das war von unserem Standpunkt aus nicht zusehen.

Am linken Bildrand ist die Kuppel des Berliner Doms sichtbar. Die direkte Entfernung von unserem Standpunkt bis zu Fernsehturm beträgt 7,494 km. Mein Olympus- Teleobjektiv hat sich bewährt.

A city view at the Blue Hour

From the Friedenauer Brücke in the Friedenau district, which belongs to the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district, the view goes towards Berlin-Mitte. In the foreground left the S-Bahn line 1 from Wannsee - to Oranienburg with the S-Bahn station "Friedenau".

To the right of the rails the expressway "Westtangente" which starts at the Steglitzer roundabout and runs parallel to the S-Bahn station Schöneberg, we see the bridge of the station which belongs to the Berliner S - Bahnring.

In the right center you can see the landmark of the district, the Schöneberger Gasometer. The EUREF campus has been located here since 2008.

"Since 2007, the 5.5 hectare EUREF campus has been developed into a so-called Smart City for work, research, education and living. The development focuses on energy-optimised buildings, a local "Micro Smart-Grid", mobility sharing and the use of renewable energies such as biomethane. All buildings are connected via Smart Metring to a local energy grid, which measures and controls their consumption centrally. Today, the EUREF Campus is a reference location for the Smart City strategy of the state of Berlin.

On the left behind the gasometer the television tower is visible, which is supposed to be illuminated in the rainbow colours since yesterday. From our point of view this was not to be seen.

On the left side of the picture the dome of the Berlin Cathedral is visible. The direct distance from our point of view to the television tower is 7.494 km. My Olympus telephoto lens has proven itself.

die Stromschnellen des Flüsschens Prüm bei Irrel in der Südeifel an einem eisigen Wintertag. Man nennt sie auch die "Irreler Wasserfälle".
