Harley-Davidson, often abbreviated H-D or Harley, is an American motorcycle manufacturer. Founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the first decade of the 20th century, it was one of two major American motorcycle manufacturers to survive the Great Depression.
The classic Harley-Davidson engines are two-cylinder, V-twin engines with the pistons mounted in a 45° "V". The crankshaft has a single pin, and both pistons are connected to this pin through their connecting rods
The Cornish engine depended on the use of steam pressure above atmospheric pressure, as devised by Richard Trevithick in the 19th century. Trevithick's early "puffer" engines discharged steam into the atmosphere. This differed from the Watt steam engine, which depended solely on the creation of a vacuum when steam was condensed. Trevithick's later ones (in the 1810s) combined the two principles, starting with high pressure steam but also condensing it in a separate condenser. The engines were used to pump out the water to stop the mines flooding. The remains of this engine house is just one of so many found throughout Cornwall. No fear of stepping on rattlers here but falling down a mine shaft is likely :)
Mining in Cornwall Bronze Age (around 2150 BC) and It ended with South Crofty tin mine closing in 1998. Tin and later copper were the most productive of the metals extracted in the county. Arsenic, silver, zinc and a few other metals were also mined over the centuries here.

On display at Kenefick Park, Omaha NE. The Union Pacific is restoring one of these engines to add to its heritage fleet. When done (as early as 2017), the U.P. will have three operational steam engines (two of them articulated), complementing the 844 and the 3985.
"You know what might look good in the middle of all these engines? More engines."
This thing would easily have the thrust to get off the ground with modern rockets. The fuel capacity though...

This Photograph shows a strange looking (regarding mounting provisions) Antique Flywheel Engine on Display at the Antique Flywheel and Tractor Show, Fort Meade, Florida. I don't know what that Silver Ball could be ? Maybe an Expansion Tank ?
You can also see part of a Rug (aka: Blanket) on the Left Side of my Photograph.

This Place is HUGE ! - - One of the attendants told me it is approx 480 ACRES !
The original image was very poor and I was going to wipe it but then decided to see if putting it through Photomatix coud bring some life into it. The result, although not perfect is better than expected!
