Believe it or not, today I was on the hunt for a stranger photo. In the small town of 300 where I work, there were many interesting sites, but not many strangers around!

This week at church the kids will be making this cute embossed stationery! I just love crafting for kids...

Find the instructions at Today we are making...

Thought I'd try embossing something cos it always seems pretty pointless to me but hey! What do you think??

Just playing... I used the bird embossing folder for one of the tags for my on-line class with Tim and decided just to have a play. I inked up the folder with Hero Arts Soft Pool shadow ink ( it's perfect for this technique) and once I had embossed, I coloured the raised bits with a Sakura Stardust pen. It really sparkles in real lift. Just added the wonderful big sentiment from HA's Made with Love set. As the piece was the right width for the card, just added some matting on the top and bottom.

See HERE for a more detailed view of the glitter pen on the embossing.

The boys would say, "See, Mama. It's fall in Panama, too."

Can you find them, hidden amongst the "fall" colored leaves we gathered? These leaves had withered and browned by the following day.

Actually is this not the opposite of embossing?

After seeing the snapshot exhibit at the NGA, I couldn't resist an embossed cyanotype.

Melting embossing powder has always been magic to me....being able to use it as a resist takes it one step further. I watercolored the backgroumd before embossing then added more watercolor. Circle cutout was softened with colored vellum.

I used the Hero Arts BasicGrey Two Way Arrows stencil and embossed it (video in the link below) on Kraft Cardstock. I used StazOn Spiced Chai Ink direct to paper over the textured embossing (which seemed perfect, since Spiced Chai is my go-to choice of hot drink).

I used three different images from the Hero Arts Caffeine Fix Digital Stamp set to create my image. I combined the coffee cup (or tea cup in my case) with the steam and the sentiment using my word processing software, which allows me to re-size, flip (I wanted my mug handle on the right) and position the images, so they are perfect for my card design, and then printed it on Natural White Cardstock.

The layout is this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch (flipped on its side to work with my vertical image).

I took 2 Fred Mullet workshops yesterday with Marissa and Elyce. It was so much fun!

These fish are from the second class of the day called "Dancing Rubber Fish". They are embossed fish stamps that came out amazing!

Carl Schultz torpedo soda bottle, New York. Was probably in the ocean due to the amount of wear.

Just started this over the weekend and then had a REALLY long travel day yesterday (nothing like sitting at the Southwest Airlines gate in Vegas with the sound of slot machines and a bubbly crew of competitive cheerleaders from Stanford to make you want to shut out the world and just knit). I got so much done!!

Drilled and embossed raw blanks (I used the Cuttlebug) and accented with alcohol inks as well as acrylics, sealed with clear acrylic varnish.
