Close up of seahorses card. I heat embossed the stamped image in silver on navy card. Then I stamped the image again in black on silvery grey organza. By placing the black seahorses on the organza (slighty to the right) over the silver embossed seahorses it gave this shadowy effect.
The wood block printed with no ink, but lots of pressure. I did a couple of these before I started covering the thing with ink again. Fabriano paper, 9" x 7".

Used HA snowman stamp and Creative Trees stamps. Used Cuttlebug to emboss background. Hard to tell from this pic, but the snowman is adhered with popdots so he is lifted off the card a bit.

It's that trick you have to play when looking at lunar craters, switch your perspective until the bulges become imprints
I went on a card making spree this weekend. Trying out some more embossing techniques as well as incorporated text , both by my own hand as well as vintage text copied onto various colors of papers.
I love the look of dry embossing but photos don't usually do this technique justice!
I made this card using Lucy Abrams sketch #5. The embossed image is a bit difficult to see but it is a bunch of strawberries and looks fantastic in real life. I did add some blue ink sponged around the edge of the circle when the die was still on the cardstock and then I hit the berries with a bit of red ink.

There is a close up of the dry embossing on another upload so you can see it better.
Excellent detail and sharpness, very satisfying result. The plate also help up to the pressure of the press, so shallow plates may be a technique to keep experimenting with.
Two embossing presses with gold floral designs. Object number 562 is locked with a peg, and without a handle. The other press is still operational, with dies for Archibald Campbell, Hope & King Limited. Images taken before cleaning and conservation treatment.

I did this for the emboss resist challenge at {capture the moment}. Used some Hero Arts stamps (Flourish Background and Friend Definition) along with my PTI-On My Couch set. Sorry for the funky photo, this had to be posted tonight and the conditions are not conducive to great photography.
