Part of the reason for choosing this location to view the eclipse was the thought that at worst, I'd get a chance to railfan while I was watching and, with a bit a luck, I might get a chance at combining the eclipse with a train.
As it turned out, Amtrak for once was running on time, perhaps a bit early, this day. The train passed just a few moments before totality started. Still this view with some different light/tonal textures to it was worth capturing. Normally, a shot at this time of day would be very harsh, intense lighting.

A modernistic splendor of steel and glass unmatched by anything else around, this half of the "Marilyn Monroe Towers" in Mississauga was eclipsed by the grace of a soaring hawk that drew my attention away.
Location Prescot, Merseyside. Nikon D5000, 1/125s f/25.0 ISO 6400 welding glass filter hence green tones.
Yesterday's annular eclipse made for some amazing shadows as the leaves of trees turned into multiple pinhole lenses projecting thousands of images of the eclipse on walls, carpets, and people. This one was from a tree next to our house casting the image on the siding. This was taken close to the peak of the eclipse in our area.

I'm a bit disappointed when i was shooting this because the sky wasn't totally clear.
Just a tip for anyone watching the eclipse Monday through a lens or binoculars: use a solar filter! This is my filter after a test run today. I was absent minded, put it behind the lens and (literally) got burned. I shoot mirrorless, so this would have been my sensor. If I had been shooting DSLR or looking through binoculars, this would have been my eyes. Make sure you have the right gear before you go out!

Eclipsed II :Another shot from the same shoot. Here Sun is just touching the tip of the Rajpath Canopy #astronomy #india #astrophotography #delhi #indiagate
Eclipsed -It took almost 3 years, and 3 attempts to realize this picture .Idea came up in May 2011 over a cup of coffee. Two attempts were made in 2012 ,but failed due to fog and clouds (No attempt was made in 2013 ) .3rd time in 2014 , I got the success in shooting what I wanted for so long :)
This shot was taken during the start of the eclipse at 1:49 pm. We had some cloud cover, but not enough to ruin the event. The clouds make this photo a bit more interesting.
As the rainbow bubbles rises, it obscures the bigger bubble behind it.
I think it looks like an stellar eclipse, but its really only soap bubbles.

Decided to stay up and mess around with a few shots of the lunar eclipse tonight and throw this together before sleep. Thanks to my friend Adam for hanging out and helping. Time to warm up and get some rest!
