The exhibition had been curated by Dublin City Archives and draws mainly on sources from the Royal Dublin Fusiliers Association Archive which is held at Dublin City Library and Archive. 'Çanakkale: Road to Peace out of War'

The Gallipoli Campaign – is known as "Çanakkale Savaşı" (Battle of Çanakkale) in Turkey. This photographic exhibition has been funded by the Turkish Embassy in Ireland in remembrance of the gallantry and friendship that flourished on Turkish land. It reflects not only the military aspect of the Battle of Çanakkale as but also the humane relationship between the soldiers on both warring fronts.

Vuitton's fortunes rose again in 1853 when he was appointed the personal box-maker and packer of the Empress of France, Eugenie de Montijo - the wife of Napoleon Bonaparte. The Empress charged Vuitton with beautifully packaging her clothes for transportation between the Tuileres Palace, the Château de Saint-Cloud and various seaside resorts. The position opened the doors to a new class of elite and royal clientele

The Dalek Exhibit, located next to Ruth’s Chris Steak House in North Hills’ Main District, is a temporary public art installation designed by James Marshall.

Marshall, better known as Dalek, is an American painter, illustrator, photographer and muralist. Dalek’s present work is purely abstract and explores an abundance of flashing colors and multiple planes, as well as the push and pull dynamics of opposing forces—the play between rigidity and fluidity.

Dalek’s work is critically acclaimed and has been featured in numerous publications, articles and magazines such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Juxtapoz and more.

Breaking the Ice /

briser la glace

CO-Presented with SAT / CoprésentéE par SAT

Breaking the Ice is an installation developed by the Society for Arts and Technology [SAT] that connects in real-time the audience at CODE Live 1 with participants at the other end of the country. As audience members in Vancouver approach the installation’s screen, they encounter an icy window displaying their counterparts thousands of kilometers away in Montreal. Through real-time telepresence, participants can connect, interact and proceed to play using a human size touchscreen. After virtually melting the digital frost between the users, a live video transmission from the other city is revealed. Users can play in this frosty atmosphere, hand-drawing in the ice, using snowflakes to re-freeze the scene. The ice might also break completely, requiring participants to piece together the shattered fragments. Through one of the fastest internet lines in the world, and with live audio/video streaming, this game will allow audience members in Montreal and Vancouver to literally “break the ice.”
