E Class Metropolitan No. 1 passes Stamford Brook at the rear of the late running first Train No. 150 11:11 Ealing Broadway to High Street Kensington 150 years of the District line rail tour.
Due to technical issues with the train the rail tours were running about 70 to 85 minutes late.
Looking just a little different than original. Notice why?
The back of this wagon was piled high with other W123 parts by the way--I saw several grilles, a dashboard, and who knows what else. Maybe it belongs to a specialist in these cars? I saw it precisely twice and haven't since so perhaps a visitor in my neighborhood.

It's quite a departure from my CRX, but when I saw this 300CE in the Autotrader, I just couldn't resist. A week later it was mine

Bosnian plates aren't as uncommon as one might think in Berin, but they're still somewhat rare, especially on upscale cars.

Despite the growing preference for SUVs - which Mercedes-Benz has been happy to satisfy - many Americans still love a good sport sedan This 2014 E350 is a perfect example of what Mercedes-Benz does best. This sedan can go to 60 mph from a standstill in less than six seconds with 302 horses fro its 3.5-liter V-6 with a solid 25 mpg in combined city/highway driving.

This diplomatic license plate is quite since, since it's sporting two pairs of numbers, which is almost as awesome as these can get.

The second of a brace of superb W124 (C124) cabriolets on offer today, this classy drop-head is a late CE-badged model before the model designation changed to become simply E-class.
It was ordered with the smooth and powerful 3.2-litre straight-6 engine uncommonly mated to special-order five-speed manual transmission with dog-leg first gear. We understand that it has covered just 18.803 miles from new and had two former keepers in the UK before being purchased in October 2002 to form part of this collection. The car was originally supplied new to its lucky owner in sunny Cyrpus in May 1993 where it remained until its import and registration in the UK in October 1998.
It is finished in period-correct two-tone blue with grey sports checker interior and walnut trim. The electric blue soft top looks in good original order but is untested as the car has not been run for some time and we have not attempted to start it. The history file includes a V5C registration certificate and its owner’s pack along with the service booklet showing 9 stamps including the PDI, the last recorded service taking place at 18.041 miles in June 2009.
The car was last presented for an Mot in September 2010 at which point it had covered just 18.499 miles. Given the car has covered only 300 miles in the last 8 years we have not attempted to start it and would recommend the car be subject to a thorough service and check over before being enjoyed in the sunshine, roof down as it was intended to be.
These svelte 124 series cabriolets are sound investments and rewarding to drive with full four seater practicalities on offer. A great investment opportunity, not only is it low-mileage but it is manual too. Most unusual!

Coachwork by Pilato
For decades, Mercedes vehicles have been the preferred basis for hearses owing to their elegant design, their sound workmanship, and their longevity and reliability. The vehicle on display has a bodywork built by the Italian firm Pilato. The large windows and ornate appointments are typical features of Italian hearses.

The W124 Saloon and C124 Coupe were launched in 1985 and designed by Bruno Sacco as a replacement for the W123 model.
The W124 is a mid-sized vehicle platform. Front suspension uses a separate spring and damper with a rubber top mount. The rear suspension of the W124 features the Mercedes multi-link axle introduced in 1982 with the Mercedes 190. Estate cars (and optionally, saloons and coupes) had Citroen-like self-leveling rear suspension with suspension struts rather than shock absorbers, gas-filled suspension spheres to provide damping and an under bonnet pressurizing pump. Unlike the traditional Citroën application Mercedes opted for a fixed ride height and employed rear coil springs to maintain the static ride height when parked.
It had one of the lowest coefficient of drag (Cd) of any vehicle of the time (0.28 for the 200/200D model for the European market with 185/65 R15 tires) due to its aerodynamic body, that included plastic molding for the undercarriage to streamline airflow beneath the car, reducing fuel consumption and wind noise. It had a single windscreen wiper that had an eccentric mechanism at its base that extended the wiper's reach to the top corners of the windscreen
The pre-facelift models from 1985 to 1993 used the model designations begining with the engine size ie 300CE while post facelift cars from 1993 to 1995/6 used the model designations first ie CE300.
