Frohes Neues Jahr !

Lasst uns hoffen, dass wir das Trockendock der Pandemie bald verlassen und wieder in ein unbeschwertes Leben aufbrechen können !

Happy New Year !

Let us hope that we can leave the dry dock of the pandemic soon and start again into a carefree life !

An interesting sight I came across the other day. It seems this area of the lake has been taken over by the American Lotus plant and this is the view in the Fall after the plant's leaves die off. I thought it made for an interesting pattern and natural abstract of sorts.

Already dried a lonely leaf catches some low winter light allowing it glow. All I can say is it managed a great bronze tan!

J'aime bien faire sécher les serviettes dehors, même au mois de septembre c'est possible si on a une belle journée de soleil.

It is winter here and there are no live flowers left in the garden. For this theme I have chosen a section of dried white Hydrangea flower which I picked from the garden a few days ago.

A somber landscape from the end of Autumn season.

There is a rice processing factory in Cai Rang that welcomes tourists. It produces rice paper and rice noodles.

Rice paper is indispensable for Vietnamese spring rolls. It is also provided in restaurants when you order something such as fish meat and prawn so that you can prepare your own spring rolls yourself.

It is the closest thing to Mexican corn tortillas.

Diameter of the rice papers in the photo was approximately 50 cm. They may be sold by cutting into smaller pieces.

I don't know what it is about dried thistles, but when I see 'em, I gotta shoot 'em.
