Gotta dig in
Gas mask's on
Wait in the sunshine overhead
If this is living, sakes alive
Well, then, we can't win, no one survives
Is everyone afraid?
You should be ashamed
Apocalyptic screams mean nothing to the dead
Kiss your little son to know all there is
C'mon, last call!
You should want it all!
It's lonely at the top
These lonely days, will they ever stop?
This doomsday clock
These lonely days, will they ever stop?
It's tickin' in my heart
Is everyone afraid?
My image of the Copenhagen Harbour happened to be arranged on top of a local waterfall in my Flickr page and it looked to me, for a split second only, like I took a doomsday image and couldn't remember where. So this just had to be done!
What's the news?
None, my lord, but that the world's grown honest,
Then is doomsday near.

EASY WAY TO SEE ALL MY PHOTOS AS RANDOM
On a summer evening, during our vacation in Austria, an isolated thunderstorm formed to our east. To get a nice view of the storm plus illuminated castle, I had to climb a mountain road by bike (with photo gear and tripod).
The effort was well worth it, when the storm spawned a few awesome lightning bolts.
100,000 infections a day, 75,000 deaths by April.
Do you remember how the Army built the Nightingale Hospitals to cater with tens of thousands of deaths a day? Do you remember queuing in the rain in a queue stretching across the car park and round the back of the supermarket to get..........toilet rolls? Do you remember doing your bit to flatten the curve? Do you remember the fear? Wasn't that back in 2019?
So where are we now, in 2021? Everyone is/was thinking of having a 'normal' Christmas. And we have only two more Covid variants to Christmas , some joke!
But first, will we get there without Santa Boris demanding one more effort before the big party. And before the gift of Covid passports, and mandatory jabs. Or you lose your job, or the freedom to go to a pub, cinema, a park.... a shop? Like Austria where the Government will fine you EUR 1000 every month until you comply?
I'm writing my letter to Santa. Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas this year is my freedom from all this shit and madness. Whatever is going on, I want it to stop. Enough is enough!
Covid. It should be so passe.... so last year.

The Castle of D C is a Neo-romantic castle and/or residence located somewhere in Portugal.
The project was conceived and executed in 1915. The construction was suspended in 1919, at a time when the interior of the home, was still in a state of basic comforts. Uncomplete, its budget rounded 370 contos.
On 20 February 1985, the property was classified as a Imóvel de Interesse Público (Property of Public Interest).
After going through several hands, it is currently owned by the Portuguese Republic, but it is clearly abandoned.
Feel the end of the world is upon us in these Corona days, but hope we get back to normal days soon.
Or: Bread roll nightmares (come true...)

I concluded my photographic year 2024 on a humorous note with my dinosaur MM image (please see the second comment), and as coincidence would have it, today's breakfast allowed me to start my new photography year 2025 with some fun as well: Breakfast pareidolia :) We always (pre-)slice our Sunday bread rolls in the bread cutter to avoid breakfast table crumble mess and the second slice had a cute little "shocked" face. So as a warm-up for my MM shooting for tomorrow's "Keychain" theme, I decided to photograph it.
While I don't eat sweet things like marmalade, jam, honey, or hazelnut/chocolate spread for breakfast, my savoury options simply didn't look as photogenic as the homemade strawberry jam we always buy at our favourite vegetable stall at the weekly market. So butter and jam it was for the photo.
I did some dodging and burning on the "eyes" and "mouth" to highlight "the bread roll's fear of the bread spread", brightened the background, a simple wooden cutting board, and did some extra sliding in Analog Efex (frame only) and Color Efex. There were two darker spots on the cutting board which I used as pupils for the holes aka eyes.
As for the poor bread roll slice: Its inevitable fate of being eaten for breakfast has been postponed until tomorrow ;)
Wishing you a Happy, healthy, and peaceful 2025, dear Flickr friends! HSS Everyone!
Unfortunately, this topic is once again more relevant than ever:
This is the last of a total of 54 underground missile defense sites of the US, that were in operation until 1984.
It is a launch facility for the Titan II rocket, which was used as a deterrent against nuclear war.
You can see the Titan II missile in its silo. As a carrier rocket, it was able to transport a nuclear warhead with a yield of 9 megatons of TNT over long distances.
This photo was taken at the Titan II Missile Museum, about 40 km south of Tucson / Arizona, not far from the Mexican border.
Rusty and lonely place. No far away....!
