There are two mighty spirits at work amongst mankind.

The Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Error, Truth is eternal, error is not.

The human soul is an object of stupendous interest. These two spirits are working for it.

Only the holy spirit, the spirit of the lord, can transform us to the Lord

The spirit of error will work day and night to led us further away from the Lord.

Make us drift into the natural man that can no longer comprehend the things of God because you lose your discernment.

The Bible warns that Satan will attempt to deceive, "if it were possible, even the elect."

How ?

"But by letting something worthwhile take the heart -- by using what is legitimate to obsess the heart and consume all one's time."

No wonder there is such an confusion and blindness. There's an intoxication today that is absolutely demonic .

When I Am Among the Trees

When I am among the trees,

especially the willows and the honey locust,

equally the beech, the oaks and the pines,

they give off such hints of gladness,

I would almost say that they save me, and daily.

I am so distant from the hope of myself,

in which I have goodness, and discernment,

and never hurry through the world

but walk slowly, and bow often.

Around me the trees stir in their leaves

and call out, "Stay awhile."

The light flows from their branches.

And they call again, "It's simple," they say,

"and you too have come

into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled

with light, and to shine."

English Christian Movie "Deadly Ignorance" | Who Should We Listen to in Welcoming the Lord's Return

Zheng Mu'en is a co-worker at a Chinese Christian church in the US, has believed in the Lord for many years, and passionately works and expends for the Lord. One day, his aunt testifies to him that the Lord Jesus has returned to express the truth and do the work of judging and purifying man in the last days, news which greatly excites him. After reading Almighty God's word and watching the movies and videos of The Church of Almighty God, Zheng Mu'en's heart verifies that Almighty God's words are the truth, and that Almighty God might very well be the return of the Lord Jesus, so he begins investigating the work of God in the last days with his brothers and sisters. But when Pastor Ma, the leader of his church, discovers this, he tries time and again to intervene and stop Zheng Mu'en. He shows Zheng Mu'en a CCP government propaganda video that slanders and condemns Eastern Lightning in an attempt to make Zheng Mu'en abandon his investigation of the true way, and this video leaves him very confused: He can obviously see that Almighty God's words are the truth and the voice of God, so why do the pastors and elders of the religious world condemn Almighty God? They not only themselves refuse to seek or investigate, they try to stop others from accepting the true way. Why is this? … Zheng Mu'en fears being deceived and taking the wrong path, but also fears losing his chance to be raptured. In the midst of his conflict and confusion, Pastor Ma presents even more negative propaganda from the CCP and the religious world, producing many more doubts in Zheng Mu'en's heart. He decides to listen to Pastor Ma and give up his investigation of the true way. Later, after hearing testimony and fellowship from witnesses of The Church of Almighty God, Zheng Mu'en understands that in investigating the true way, the most fundamental principle is determining whether a way has the truth and whether what it expresses is the voice of God. Anyone that can express much of the truth must be the appearance of Christ, because no member of corrupt mankind could ever express the truth. This is an indisputable fact. If one does not focus on hearing the voice of God as they investigate the true way, and instead awaits the descent of the Lord Jesus on white clouds based on their imaginings, they will never be able to welcome the appearance of God. Zheng Mu'en finally understands the mystery of the wise virgins hearing God's voice spoken of by the Lord Jesus, decides to no longer believe the lies and absurd theories of the CCP government and the pastors and elders of the religious world, and escapes the constraints and bondage of his religious pastor. Zheng Mu'en experiences deeply the difficulty of investigating the true way. Without discernment or seeking the truth, there is no way to hear the voice of God or be raptured before God's throne. Instead, one can only be deceived and controlled by Satan and die in Satan's net, which entirely fulfills the words in the Bible, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hos 4:6). "Fools die for want of wisdom" (Pro 10:21).

Bishop Olmsted ordains three men to the priesthood

By Ambria Hammel | June 5, 2010 | The Catholic Sun

For the the third straight year, Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted ordained three men to the priesthood.

The bishop conferred the sacrament of Holy Orders on transitional deacons Matt Henry, Chad King and John Parks at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral.

"Seeing the love of the people for their priests [during the procession] gives us such a witness of their love and support," Fr. King said after the ordination.

Fr. Henry said the laying on of hands by the bishop was a special moment.

"My only part was just to say yes to that," he said, referring to the prayer of ordination.

Fr. Parks also noted the laying on of hands.

"I just felt that I was being reconfigured in my person," he said. Fr. Parks also mentioned receiving the Eucharist during the orination.

"I was just struck once again that God becomes the Eucharist for us," he said, underscoring God's humility.

Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted said all three priests know well the challenges that the Church faces today, including the shortcomings of its members, “but without losing heart, they are ready and eager to be faithful priests of the Lord Jesus” and convincingly share the faith.

“The three men I have the honor to ordain this year are quite different in personality but united by a deep love for the Lord Jesus, and an eagerness to hand on the good news of Christ in convincing ways,” Bishop Olmsted said in an interview prior to the June 5 ordination.

"From this day forward the people of God will call you 'father,' because you will love people in His name," the bishop told the new priests. He encouraged them to listen to confessions with compassion and called them to defend the unborn and the immigrant.

All three priests cited their involvement in youth ministry in the Phoenix Diocese as part of their discernment process.

Each newly ordained will celebrate their first Mass at their home parish June 6. The Mass times are staggered so the new priests can support each other from the pew.

Phoenix’s three new priests fit right in with the 440 men awaiting priestly ordination nationwide.

Of the 339 diocesan and religious ordinands who responded to the survey by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate at Georgetown University, 72 percent are Caucasian. Half to three-quarters served in some parish ministry before entering the seminary.

More than half are between the ages of 25 and 34, roughly the same as last year. The median age of this year’s ordinands nationally is 33 with Fr. Henry, who turns 26 shortly, being the youngest nationally.

Wisdom is your perspective on life, your sense of balance, your understanding of how the various parts and principles apply and relate to each other. It embraces judgment, discernment, comprehension. It is a gestalt or oneness, and integrated wholeness. - Stephen R Covey

Compassion automatically invites you to relate with people because you no longer regard people as a drain on your energy. - Chogyam Trungpa

When I was thinking of doing this picture the song “Bridge Over Troubled Water” came to mind, it talks of how a friend will be that bridge over troubled water. Life has been a bit stormy lately and it can feel overwhelming. It can feel like there is a big wide chasm between the situation and finding resolution and you wonder how you’ll ever get to the side of resolution. It’s in these situations that I really come to realize how much God is in control and how Jesus is that bridge over troubled water. In the large picture of life His death on that cross is the bridge that gives us access to God the Father, our willingness to walk across that bridge enables us to lay down our burdens realizing that there is a God who is bigger who is willing and wanting to help us through.

And in our day to day lives there are those who are the hands and feet of Christ who can help us through the tough times, who can give us a different perspective and be that bridge to resolution. Because sometimes when you’re in the midst of the storm you can’t always see and hear clearly, it’s in those times that it is good to have the strength, wisdom and discernment of friends.

When you have walked through the storm how ever long that may be, one day you wake up and realize you are out of the storm and thank God for His great faithfulness, grace and mercy.

"Perilous Is the Road to the Heavenly Kingdom" (Gospel Movie Trailer)

Zhong Xin is a preacher at a house church in Mainland China. He has believed in the Lord for many years, and has been suffering capture and persecution of the CCP. He hates the CCP deeply and has already seen clearly that the CCP is a satanic regime treating God as its enemy. In recent years, he has seen that the Chinese Communist government and the religious world have persisted in wildly condemning, capturing, and persecuting the Church of the Eastern Lightning. But the Eastern Lightning not only survives, but also continues to thrive and grow. He thinks it is unbelievable and starts to reflect: Is the Eastern Lightning the appearance and work of the Lord? Zhong Xin also finds that what the CCP and the religious world speak to condemn the Eastern Lightning are all rumors and lies. In order to find out the truth, he leads brothers and sisters to investigate the Eastern Lightning. After the fellowship of the preachers from the Church of Almighty God, most of them firmly believe that the words expressed by Almighty God are the truth and the voice of God. Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus. However, the Church of Almighty God is suppressed and condemned by the Chinese Communist government and is wildly opposed and condemned by the religious pastors and elders. Faced with this situation, some are confused: Since the work of Almighty God is the true way, why does it suffer the furious resistance and condemnation of those in power and the religious world? Through reading Almighty God's words and listening to the fellowship of the preachers from the Church of Almighty God, these brothers and sisters understand the source of mankind's resistance of God, and see clearly that why the road to the heavenly kingdom is so perilous. They have discernment in the truth-hating and God-opposing essence of the satanic CCP regime and the religious leaders. In the end, Zhong Xin and others free themselves from the control and bondage of Satan's influence without hesitation. They accept Almighty God's work in the last days and truly return before God's throne.

Father General Arturo Sosa S.J., met with the pilgrims of MAGIS Central America 2019, in an emotional encounter in which some young people shared with him what they lived during the MAGIS experiences in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama.Father General then gave a seminar inspired by the Synod of Bishops on youth and vocational discernment. He shared about (1) the importance of listening to young people in order to grasp God's passage in human history; (2) recognizing that the digital age demands the proclamation of Jesus as the prototype of the human being; (3) the commitment of all believers to building an intercultural society; (4) the need for Christian communities to be open to difference; and (5) the opening to a more positive attitude to migration, seeking integration so that this is no longer the cause of violence and injustice.

At the end of the seminar, Fr. Sosa responded to some questions from young people from Africa, Europe, Asia and America regarding the mission of young people, the Jesuit response to the crisis of sexual abuse, the possibility of women being admitted to the Society of Jesus, and the socio-political crises in Nicaragua, Venezuela and Honduras. Fr. Sosa was accompanied by Fr. Rolando Alvarado S.J., Provincial of Central America, and Fr. José Antonio Rubio S.J., Coordinator of MAGIS Central America 2019.

This invitation was send to 1.200 donors and supporters for a fundraising concert in Portland's Newmark Theater. The show drew about 700 people for a slamming 2 hour set.

The Oregonian's review:

Music review Hargrove blows audience away, once he finds his groove.

The crowd forgives a slow start as trumpeter takes wing; too bad the band can't keep up.

Despite a tepid beginning and a band clearly not his equal, trumpeter Roy Hargrove ended his 100-minute-plus set Friday night on a hot streak, showing the audience why such a relatively young musician has already built such a strong career. Hargrove's performance at the Newmark Theatre proved a fitting start to the Portland Jazz Festival's second and final weekend.

Though only in his mid-30s, the Grammy-winning Hargrove already has a considerable body of work and a bucketful of critics' kudos. Spotted as a high school musician by fellow trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, one of the best-known names in jazz, Hargrove has built the kind of reputation that creates a buzz wherever he goes. Last year, The New York Times called him "a natural choice to fill (Dizzy) Gillespie's shoes."

All of which is to say Hargrove's slender shoulders carry plenty of baggage.

Friday night, it seemed at first as if the weight of that reputation might have been too much for Hargrove. His band carried much of the first two songs, with Hargrove barely playing before handing things off. At that point his playing lacked electricity and energy: At best, it felt perfunctory.

But when Hargrove hit his stride, he made it clear that his laurels haven't been given, they've been earned. He blew so hard he bent backward with the effort, several times stepping back to keep his balance. His broad-ranging musical interests served him well as he transitioned from Latin-tinged songs that begged for a dance floor to slower numbers that showed a keen sense of elegant simplicity. By the end of his set, the audience had more than forgiven his lukewarm start.

Unfortunately, his band never warmed up the way Hargrove did. Pianist Gerard Clayton, for example, played without a sense of authority for the first half of the show. Joe Sanders laid down a competent but unimaginative bass line. Compared with the stellar bass players who have graced the stages of the jazz festival, Sanders' lack of inspiration was particularly noticeable. Montez Coleman, on percussion, at least showed a genuine excitement, with an enthusiasm that, if nothing else, lent a needed sense of presence.

Saxophonist and flutist Justin Robinson showed genuine talent, holding down his solos with flair, but he lacked the discernment of Hargrove, who knew when it was time for a run of notes and when it was time for the grace of a lone, clean tone.

Hargrove himself could have connected more personally with the crowd. He didn't speak to the audience until toward the end, when he briefly introduced the band. Not all performers can have the towering but relaxed stage presence of, say, Branford Marsalis, who strode the Newmark stage like a king the previous weekend. But rapport with the audience is part of what makes a live show special.

Of course, with talent like Hargrove's, sometimes the music has fire enough on its own.

It is one of the largest annual pilgrimages in the world, with an estimated over 100 million devotees visiting every year. Ayyappan's temple is situated amidst 18 hills. The temple is situated on a hilltop at an altitude of 468 m (1,535 ft) above mean sea level, and is surrounded by mountains and dense forests. The dense forest, (Periyar Tiger Reserve), around the temple is known as Poomkavanam. Temples exist in each of the hills surrounding Sabarimala. While functional and intact temples exist at many places in the surrounding areas like Nilakkal Kalaketty, and Karimala remnants of old temples survive to this day on remaining hills.

Al-Khaliq

The Creator

Allah is He who has created seven heavens,

and, like them, the many aspects of the earth.

Through all of them flows down from on high, unceasingly,

His creative will, so that you might come to know

that Allah has the power to will anything,

and that Allah encompasses all things with His knowledge.

At-Talaq 65:12-13, tr. Asad

The sky, so beautiful and glorious:

Allah said, "then turn thy gaze again towards it."

As regards this roof of light,

don't be content with just one look:

look many times; see:

Are there any flaws?

Since He has told you to look often

at this excellent roof, examining it for flaws,

know then, how much discernment the dark earth needs.

Rumi, Mathnawi II:2946-2949, tr. Helminski

Bishop Olmsted ordains diocese’s newest priest

By Ambria Hammel | June 2, 2012 | The Catholic Sun

Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted ordained Dan Vanyo to the priesthood June 2 at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral.

He joins 254 diocesan and religious priests who serve the Phoenix Diocese by offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, conferring the sacraments and overseeing aspects of parish life. Many of them were on hand to offer congratulations to their newest brother.

That included a handful of local priests and some from St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver who played key roles in Fr. Vanyo’s discernment. Fr. Vanyo, 43, began discerning his call to the priesthood at age 32 when a friend through a local Catholic singles group was discerning religious life.

“I never discerned anything,” Fr. Vanyo said. He researched some religious orders, but it wasn’t until a day for prospective diocesan seminarians that he reached a peaceful conclusion.

“They need help here,” Fr. Vanyo, then a hospice nurse, recalled thinking. “That’s when I gave the Lord my fiat. If you open the door, I’ll walk through it.”

He ran into Fr. Chauncey Winkler, who he knew from the local Catholic Retreat for Young Singles group and told him, “I think this is where I could be of some help.”

He entered the seminary in 2005 and was among a reported 487 ordinands nationally who will join the ranks of priesthood this year. Bishop Olmsted read from the Ordination Rite during Mass.

He reminded the crowd, including family and friends who filled the first row on both sides, that Jesus chose certain disciples to carry out publicly in His name, a priestly office. He reminded the diocese’s newest priest of his roles of Christ the teacher, priest and shepherd.

“Carry out the ministry of Christ the priest with constant joy and love,” the bishop said. He also challenged Fr. Vanyo to bring the people together in one family. That’s a challenge the priest plans to meet in his new home, Queen of Peace Parish in Mesa. He will serve as parochial vicar starting July 1.

“I am most excited that I will be able to hear people’s confessions. When the Holy Spirit touches the hearts of the penitents with His grace in the confessional, I will be blessed to be a witness to it,” Fr. Vanyo said.

In addition to a parish presence, Fr. Vanyo will serve as chaplain at Seton Catholic Preparatory High School in Chandler. Fr. Vanyo will offer his first liturgy, a Mass of Thanksgiving, at his home parish Holy Cross in Mesa, at 10 a.m. June 3.

“Wisdom is your perspective on life, your sense of balance, your understanding of how the various parts and principles apply and relate to each other. It embraces judgment, discernment, comprehension. It is a gestalt or oneness, and integrated wholeness.”

Stay Out of My Business | Remove the Stumbling Block on the Way to the Kingdom of Heaven | Trailer

Li Qingxin was a preacher at a house church in China. Having believed in the Lord for many years, she always enthusiastically preached and worked for the Lord, watching and waiting for the Lord's coming and being raptured into the kingdom of heaven. In recent years, Li Qingxin saw all the denominations and sects are getting more and more desolate, while the Eastern Lightning continues to thrive and grow even under the frantic condemnation and persecution of the CCP government and the religious world. A growing number of good sheep and leading sheep from all sects and denominations have accepted the Eastern Lightning, which led her to self-reflect. Seeing the pastors and elders have not hesitated in making up rumors, condemning and discrediting the Church of Almighty God, and even colluding with the CCP government to arrest those who preach the Eastern Lightning, she felt what they did had deviated from the Lord's way, and realized that the one the CCP government and the religious world fanatically resist and condemn might actually be the true way and the appearance and work of the Lord. Hence, she, with several co-workers, decided to seek and investigate the Eastern Lightning. However, the pastors and elders did everything they could to prevent them from studying the true way. Through reading the words of Almighty God, listening to the fellowships from the preachers of the Church of Almighty God, they got discernment of the rumors and fallacies of the pastors and elders, saw through their vile motivations and malicious trickery of preventing believers from investigating the true way, and saw clearly the hypocritical true face of pastors and elders. Finally, Li Qingxin and others spoke out loudly to the religious pastors and elders that "Stay out of my business," and completely broke free from their constraints and bondage, and returned before God's throne.

true vintage: 50 anni di andrea pensiero

Franklin & Marshall originated from the wish to preserve symbols of the past, reviving them with the same discernment but with different eyes. As Giuseppe Albarelli and Andrea Pensiero explain, -“Vintage is a luxury whose worth originates from the fact that it resists being swept away by fashion tidal wave” It is for this reason that every garment acquires individual value, it is adopted by young people and combined with personal life experiences. It remains at least for a generation. Franklin & Marshall, through reaserch, enthusiasm and great attention to raw materials have created a totally Italian product, a strong contrast between the melancholy past and the modern present day. Today the brand is exported to about 20 countries.
