Here is my camera with the flash diffuser on it. I could use a mini one for my little camera to cut the glare on this picture:)
Small, Flat, Diffused, light.
I would like to tweak this pic to bring out the highlights a bit more on the closer broken branch. It's a bit too flat at this time.

I was mesmerized when I saw this scene because the lighting was just so good. It was so good it reminded me of those cars ads, you know the ones with perfect lighting, and you know that’s because behind the camera they are using very professional light diffusers to expose all angles properly! I think the sunlight’s reflection by the water made similar effect in this scene :)

tried to make my own diffuser (shown here) to produce a better flash effect on my subjects. The other 2 pics illustrate this effect on Mazinger Z.
Made from a small cardboard box and some pieces of transluscent weighing paper and held by staples n tape.
Tried out a technique that I was taught recently. Took the lens off my SLR, inverted it, and took a macro shot of a flower at home. Not a great shot, but i liked the diffused light effect in this.
Thanks Nimish! :)
DIY diffuser - a short length of plastic plumbing pipe, plastic end stopper, reducer, and lots of silicone sealer.
The plumbing pipe is half filled with coarse gravel to help aerate and diffuse the flow of water.
I was just going to throw away this ovaltine ("ovomaltina") box, when I realised under the label it was almost transparent. So I washed it, peeled the label, cut away a side strip and ... ta-dah! ... a DIY diffuser is born :) ... still trying out if it works, though ;)
Thought I'd post a series of 3 images to show how the lighting of an object can be changed by adding a diffuser and then a reflector. My wife has been very understanding this weekend as I have been making diffusers out of old bits of wood and sheets, the long suffering lovely Mrs H !
Here the diffuser is added, softening the light
Chicago's Oriental Institute has an amazing collection of artifacts-that represent much of the same period of History that ISIS is now destroying.Sad.
I tried to take a picture of the diffusor.

A bright day, but the sun has always been softened by a haze and high level clouds. This was taken at the Bay of Sannick this afternoon. The headland on the right is Duncansby Head.

Taking inspiration from nocroppingzone.blogspot.com/ I have been playing around with a new diffuser system on my twin lite.
The diffusers are two 'puffer' type diffusers for on camera flash which have been attached to a couple of sto-fen type diffusers (with the fronts cut off) which clip to the flash head. Two pieces of tin foil coated card where then placed top and bottom and the whole ensemble was gaffa taped together.
If the system works out I will try a more permanent solution with less sticky tape :).
The left hand flash (right as you look at the camera) is mounted on a kaiser bounce flash adapter.
This project we had to take portraits in diffused light and then photoshop them to make them look good. Not that they didn't look good already. My camera shoots in a warm tone so I neutralized the tone softened the skin, whitened the teeth a little and made her look beautiful! For the final project we convert it to B&W and print on velvet paper.

The concave shape was inspired by Steb1's small concave diffuser he created for his MT24 EX (Canon equivalent of Nikon's R1C1 macro flash system), you can see Steb1's equipment setup here - flic.kr/s/aHsjjHRWp5.
I molded some plastic around the end of the SB-R200 using polymorph which protuded enough to slot in a small plastic tube. The tube naturally bends into an oval shape when slotted into the plastic mold. A concave, oval shaped deodorant lid is placed in the end which has further diffusion by 2 layers of velum paper glued to the deodorant lid. Not ideal for lighting background but concentrates the light at the subject and is very portable and not clunky or oversized like previous designs.
