In the Depths of Neon Dreams
In the flicker of dusk, the screen glows bright,
Pixels dance and shimmer in the fragile night.
Whispers of realms where shadows conspire,
A siren's call from the depths of desire.
Beyond the threshold of reality's sigh,
A cybernetic world spins a tapestry high.
Distant echoes—a jester's laugh,
In this surreal carnival, I slip through the path.
Time unwinds like a fraying thread,
Caught in the maze where the lost dare tread.
Digital phantoms with eyes like the void,
Conjure reflections of dreams long destroyed.
Sleep, a stranger with a face veiled in mist,
Waits in the corners, patiently kissed
By the haunting glow of my midnight affair,
As characters twirl in the electric air.
Thoughts swirl like smoke in the neon haze,
On the edge of lucidity, I linger and gaze.
A dream within dreams, a cycle unspooled,
In this Lynchian junction, I find myself fooled.
What price do I pay for these moments of play?
The clock keeps its secrets, while shadows decay.
A whisper, a flutter, as daylight draws near,
Reality beckons, yet I hold it in fear.
In the depths of these echoes, I gather my thoughts,
A tapestry woven with battles I've fought.
Each pixel a fragment, a memory's thread,
Yet in the silence of morning, I'm heavy with dread.
So here in the ruins of this fragmented night,
Lost in the labyrinth, between wrong and right,
I ponder the dawn, as it quietly creeps,
Wondering still—was it worth losing sleep?

This is a tribute to my favorite franchise about vampires - "Underworld", and my childhood hero Selene, an elite vampire assassin hunting down the Lycans (werewolves), who was brilliantly played by Kate Beckinsale in five films (well, in four, she's not actually in the third, because it was a prequel). I think the last film (Underworld: Blood Wars) is the best, because her story arc has come full circle, and her narration in the end is just EPIC. Also there was an interesting rare case of seeing vampires in white (the Nordic Coven).
As for the first films, well, it's seems like there was a trend in the late 1990s and early 2000s for dark films with heroes in leather trench coats fighting enemies with guns and fists: Blade, Trinity, Selene... Good times! I honestly can't believe why Underworld franchise is so underrated, it deserves much more recognition. Especially when a lot of people hated another vampire franchise Twilight... Underworld is better, it's dark and has a lot of complex politics going on between clans. Action and special effects were awesome. And for those tired of "a vampire and their food" stories - there are almost no human characters in the films, nobody cares there about those filthy muggles, unless they are immortal or something. xD
Actually, this is a franchise that defined vampires and werewolves for me. Not a vampire movie, but THE vampire movie. Not "Interview with the Vampire" (good, but I watched it much later than "Underworld"), "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (liars! these are not even close to the book! I hate this film), "Blade" (did I even watched it? I forgot, sorry), "BloodRayne" (cheap, boring and just awful), "Twilight" (still never watched), "Dracula Untold" (good, but I watched it much later too) or "What We Do In The Shadows" (great film, but again, I watched it much later). Well, actually it's more of a mix between Underworld 1-5 and "Van Helsing" (where Kate Beckinsale played Anna Valerious, a vampire hunter, what an irony) that defined vampires and werewolves for me, so every time I create my own characters in such settings, they usually inspired by either Underworld or "Van Helsing", even though both of my current settings that include a characters like those (yes, both, it's a multiverse, I told already) always had their own world rules, etc.
I wanted to make a tribute to Selene for a long, long time! But I wasn't sure which scene would be the most iconic. Originally I considered making some action scene, but that would require me to rewatch the first film again (which I haven't done since I had a TV, which was many years ago), but my list of films to watch is so long, it would took an eternity. So I've seen a picture where she was sitting on the balcony, watching the city and ready to jump and go on a hunt, and I thought it's even better than the poster, because her pose is unique.
It was quite a challenge to make her sit like that on such a narrow balustrade! Everything is held together by the gravity only, I didn't use any sticky things this time! :P I added a BrickWarriors gun to remind everyone that she wield two guns, and she's absolutely badass in using them. :) The coat was also a tricky challenge, because I didn't have any spare fabric now, and I wanted to make it puristic, so the coat is actually a certain Lego cape.

Tempting him out of his powered down state, I offered to make him a little world that he could destroy and crush all the humans within. Haven't seen him this happy in ages. It really cheered him up!

After finishing the digging in the mine agter brown coal the German RWE have plans to change this region, where the surface of the earth has been exhausted to 300 meters deep in to a lake district. Hopefully the result will be there as it's sad nowadays to see how intensely ruined the landscape here is. There are several villages already disappeared into the gap and there are still more to come.

On February 27, 2022, the government of Ukraine announced that UR-82060, the only Antonov An-225 Mriya, had been destroyed by enemy forces on February 24, 2022. It was reportedtly undergoing maintenance inside its hangar at Antonov Airport (GML/UKKM) at Hostomel, northwest of Kyiv, Ukraine.
The world's largest aircraft had a maximum take-off weight of 1,410,000 pounds / 640,000 kilograms. It first flew on December 21, 1988. Its last flight was on February 5, 2022, when it operated as ADB3120 from Billund, Denmark to Hostomel.
It is seen here climbing out from runway 06L at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario. It was departing as ADB305F (Antonov Airlines) to Anchorage, Alaska.
Mriya means Dream in Ukrainian. May the dream to build at least one replacement for this amazing Ukrainian aircraft eventually come true.
