This is a plant that I obtained from the late Wilbur Chang. The plant is growing in a 3-inch clay pot with New Zealand Sphagnum Moss as the media. The plant has a long ways to go to be a good specimen plant.
This is a plant that I obtained from the late Wilbur Chang. The name on the tag was incorrectly shown as Dendrochilum bicolosum. The orange colored flowers makes the plant standout from other Dendrochilums. The plant is growing in a 4-inch plastic pot with New Zealand Sphagnum Moss as the media.

Dendrochilum filiforme 'Birthday Present'. From a distance Dendrochilum look a lot like grasses. You have to look closely at their long chained inflorescences to appreciate that they are orchids. Each individual flower is only 3-5 mm in diameter.

Homotypic Synonyms:
Pseudacoridium cootesii (H.A.Pedersen) Szlach. & Marg., Polish Bot. J. 46: 114 (2001).
This species is endemic to the mountains of the provinces of Ifugao, Nueva Ecija, and Nueva Vizcaya on Luzon at elevations of between 1,200 and 2,000 metres.
It commonly grows on the mossy trunks and branches of trees on the fringes of cloud forest.
