1500m, adidas Grand Prix
Randall's Island, NY
June 12, 2010
The man in 5th position is Leo Manzano. He and Bernard Lagat (in 4th position here) are two of the top American middle distance runners. They are two of our favorite runners. Leo went on to get 3rd place. Pretty good, considering that Nicholas Kemboi's time of 3:33.29 was the 3rd fastest time for 2010 as of that day.
Shrine of Christ's Passion
This statue was "on tour" throughout "Chicagoland" for 10 years. It is 33 feet tall and made from 8400 pounds (4 tons) of stainless steel. It was the dream of the late Carl Demma, who commissioned it as a gift for the people of Chicago. The sculptor was Charles Cropper Parks. It is now on permanent display at the Shrine of Christ's Passion near St. John the Evangelist Church in St. John, Indiana.
