DC Figures #31
From L to R
Calculator: Got him in the blind bag.
Calendar Man: I think the lighter colours make him look less threatening.
Deacon Blackfire: Based off his Arkham Knight appearance.
Blue Batman: Just wanted to show him.
What do you think?
Ava has complete control over her super-strong hair, thanks to a devastatingly powerful alien inside her!

Digital artwork made with Midjourney Ai and Photoshop.
Supergirl's Miss Martian, i.e. my least favorite thing that Supergirl has ever done ever. Rather than give Kara the chance to have a personality beyond "girl protagonist" by letting her befriend another young woman who survived the annihilation of her people who lives in the shadow of a more famous superhero, they opted for making her date her (in any other canon) uncle and then leave forever without ever really interacting with any other character in a meaningful way. Supergirl: the "feminist" superhero show that refuses to give any other superheroines an ounce of screen time !
(To be fair, they're doing much better right now in the current season, and have finally added another heroine to the main cast with Dreamer, but this lost opportunity and creepy bullshit will forever infuriate me)
I usually avoid doing Miss Martian figures because there aren't any green female heads, meaning she can't have the same skin tone as her adoptive uncle, but in this case, it felt acceptable. Don't ask me why. I'm also not entirely sure if her cape is dark blue and not black, but J'onn's cape is dark blue in the figures and well-lit promo art, so I just assumed for the sake of the visual appeal that she did, too.
I don't know how big of a chain Ollie's is, but if you've never heard of it, it's the sort of store that gets everything that all the bigger chains couldn't sell for whatever reason and resells them for a lot less.
Anyway, I have a stack of 16 new trade paperbacks and DC Showcase collections now and 60 fewer dollars. So.
The first thing I'm reading is Wanted: Hal Jordan (written by lord of all things Lantern Geoff Johns) which includes a team of international heroes called the Global Guardians. I'm not very familiar with most of them, but I never could resist a good team!
Brustem, 8 September 1996.
A Belgian Air Force DC-3 with number K16 / OT-CWG turned up at Brustem open day. The plane also had a civilian registration: N49AG.
She started her 'life' as C-53D 42-68810 of the USAAF in 1943. After the war she had numerous owners in the US before going to Mali (Africa) and to Belgium in 1996. She only flew for a very short time in Belgium before she was grounded. In 2002 N41AG was sold to an American, but stayed in Europe. Last seen in France in 2019.
DC figures
- Clayface (BTAS series 3, Kenner)
- Clayface (Legends of the Dark Knight, internet exclusive, Kenner)
Left to right
Lobo - official lobo Head and legs, Quinlin Voss’s hair, Batman’s legs
Grid - Cyborg’s helmet and legs, Skull, Calculator’s armor, Stormtrooper torso, Mad Scientists arms, Stormtrooper hips
Firestorm - Flash’s head, Bart’s arms, Firestorm’s torsos and legs
The Atom - Captain America’s head, scuba Batman’s torso, Spider-man’s arms, Batman’s belt, Sith trooper’s legs
Enjoy folks! (The reason I made grid is because I love playing as him in Injustice 2) :)
He looks like a Captain Cold knockoff, and that's because he basically is one. Big difference is, he's got ice *powers*, not a cold gun, and his fire-based partner is the love of his life explicitly rather than just subtextually. Darrel here gave him and his partner Heatstroke their powers somehow, became mercenaries, joined the Masters of Disaster, and for some reason at some point joined the JLA...somehow.
(I don't actually ship Leonard and Mick, but man, CW Captain Cold is bi as hell and needs to come back with that absolutely in mind)
Oh, and if you're reading this: you might notice I've been uploading a bit more after saying that I wouldn't be. That's because I've finally got the money to order some new parts (thanks, Biden, you did the bare minimum which now feels exceptional thanks to the incredibly low bar we've been living with for four years !) and have been picking up some pieces for some long-time works-in-progress while stocking up for the Big CW Upload II!
Also because I'm easily distracted from projects once I've hit any kind of roadblock, and/or lose interest in the many big dumb and often pointless projects I take on the moment they stop being dumb and pointless, but that's for me and my future therapist to discuss!
This is taken with a Canon AE-1 and a Sigma 16mm Fisheye Filtermatic lens. I used Arista EDU Ultra 100 film and developed it in Rodinal 100:1 - 350ml water and 3.5ml of Rodinal. Stand Development for 1 hour. Temperature was kept at a constant 68 degrees F using a water bath.
Depicted here in her Rebirth outfit, from when she teamed up with Deathstroke without the heavily implied pedophilia!
As you can maybe tell, I have...complicated...feelings about Terra. I think the animated series did her and the Judas Contract arc as well as anyone could, and am genuinely surprised that the comics don't pull from that version of Terra more often. It's about time someone reclaim the character and work to define her beyond her wildly creepy history. Maybe her and Geo-Force should take care of that at the same time?

Enjoy ;)
it was quite an adventure for me and my flickr buddy archajero to get to this spot just to get this view...we first took a wrong turn around Arlington Cemetery which took us about 5 miles further up a really dark and winding road where we couldn't even do a U-turn because of road constructions and the next exit was 5 miles up...and so we finally doubled back around the Arlington Cemetery area and when we got to the rotunda, gosh darn it, i made the same wrong turn and we were headed up that same long dark winding road...aaaaaaarrrggghhhh!!!! but then, i pulled over to a narrow shoulder and since there were no other cars coming from both directions and there were certainly no cops around, i cautiously made a U-turn when signs clearly said No U turns allowed....anyways, we finally found that parking spot that we scouted earlier this afternoon and walked over to Ohio Drive Bridge and had fun shooting this night scene...more to come my friends and i will be catching up with all of you soon...pls. NS 4064 leads an empty NS coal train north through Granite City, Illinois on the NS Brooklyn District.
Originally built as a Dash 9-40C standard cab NS 8767.
Wrench time done at the NS Juniata Shop in July of 2017.
Here's batch two of my DC figs, no theme here.

(Official torso, head, and helmet, Ant-Man legs, and black gloves.)

Bane (unmasked)
couldn't find my bane head so I decided to make him unmasked. Incredibly old decal I used all the way back when Arkham Origins was about release. Thought it would be a nice touch to add the teddy bear from his childhood.
Two Face (BTAS)
I haven't seen any BTAS two face customs out there, so I decided to make one. (I messed up on the decal on the burnt side, will update that in the future)
Red Hood
Added a belt hip peace in the double molded legs. Other than that, the exact same he was in custom figs #1

No theme for this one, just threw this group together.

Shade - Really like this one. He is painted, couldn't find a good purist option(Need to get a Reaper head) so this is him for now.
(Painted head, 2012 Lex with a painted tie, cane is self explanatory)
Psimon - My favorite of this group. Went with his Young Justice look with my own flare.
(Ultron sentry head, Mr. Burns torso, modified green hood)
Red Tornado - More of a filler here, you'll see him again in the future.
(Scuba Robin torso, Red Hood head)
Livewire - Needs work but I like her now.
(Harley head, Black Widow torso and legs)
