The artwork is inspired by the poetry of Colorado poet Thomas Hornsby Ferril and features words and phrases from his poems. Ferril was Denver's first poet laureate, and his work often celebrated the natural beauty and landscapes of Colorado. "A Songbird's Dream" pays homage to Ferril's poetic legacy and serves as a beautiful and thought-provoking addition to the Union Station plaza.
