Used Nik Software's HDR Efex Pro (Structure - Deep) to bring out some details and Dfine to smooth out the image's graininess.

...wound up on the dark side today - they're so much more fun and they had cupcakes, not to mention, how much they like to pose! HAAAAAA!!
I don't have any full-length shots because I was shooting through hair and shoulders and tons of tall people the whole time so unfortunately, I didn't get as many good shots as I would have liked but I now see why everyone loves these Star Wars Weekends so much - they are def alot of fun!
This cake was a pain. I couldn't make it to Nicky's party, and made the figurines at home and posted them to my Mum, who made the cake.
I had problems with proportions of the figures, and had already had lots of "no-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o" moments as they fell over and got broken.
They fell apart in the post, and she had trouble getting them back together.
But eventually, this was the end product. Happy Birthdy Nicholas!

Had an idea and it sorta came out like I hoped. Some ways it's better than my original idea, some ways not. Just a "portrait" pic of one of my favorite Darth Maul toys mixed up with a self-portrait. Various textures and adjustments were made along the way as well. Just got CS4, so it was more of a journey of trial and error than a clean execution of a clearly defined plan. At any rate, it was a fun edit.
There are a few small changes on the design of the face too.
(Sorry, Darth Maul of my son is not in best condition...)

I am still considering doing some sort of vignette, it's just I like the idea more in my head than in physical form.
All the figures are customized, and only Maul uses some non-purism for his torso via construction paper.

The Red Eye Fortress was my first attempt at a evil castle. I had always wanted to build one on this particular base but didn't obtain one till I started living on my own. I made this a few years ago from scratch, and recently updated it. It was built specifically as a place for me to put my lego villans, since they were not welcome in Purity city. These outcasts are now known as the Red Eye Pirates.
The top jail cell/tower and satalite dish are modular and the top center floor opens to reveal a command center inside. Originally I had imagined most of the Red Eye Pirates as Sith, which is why alot of Starwars characters are here as well. Most of the other villans I've had since I was a kid.
Darth Maul loses his Light Sabre and improvises a substitute. Somehow, he doesn't look quite so intimidating
