There were plenty of Loons on lake Kashagawigamog this year. I saw a group of 4 Adults, 2 Juvenile and then later a group of 7 Loons across the lake. These pictures were taken in a Kayak and the old camera.
A hungry loon family can put away a lot of fish. Biologists estimate that loon parents and their 2 chicks can eat about a half-ton of fish over a 15-week period.
I love coming across structures like this on my journeys. When I first spotted it, there were cars and people all around it, so I traveled back the following day as the sun was beginning to set.
The annual trip to family cottage always brings a new opportunity to scout an interesting location in cottage country. This years find was a picturesque waterfall just outside of Bracebridge Ontario called Potts Falls.
Thanks for viewing and have a great day :)
This Black & White warbler presented itself on different branches for 20 minutes. I likely took 150 photos. I found this behaviour unusual, but thoroughly enjoyed the time spent photographing this warbler.
Great morning at the Cottage !

An early morning light mist at Haliburton Lake, Ontario.
Thank you everyone for the congratulations and your comments. Hope everyone is having a great day.
On a recent excursion to pick my daughter up from college, I ventured north to shoot Burleigh Falls. Beautiful day, but there's been very little rain in weeks, so the water level was WAY down. I made a mental note to come back in early Fall after the inevitable rain and the Autumn colours are changing! Burleigh Falls, just like the Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons' song, "See you in September"!
The hibiscus plant, which usually bears orange blossoms put out a red one today. Joy explained that the plant was cloned from a red hibiscus whose genes were manipulated so that it bloomed beautiful orange but every now and then it reverts to its original colour.
Thanks for visiting, enjoy your weekend.

Taken at 1:15 PM today , as I said goodbye to Joy and her beautiful home in Washago, Ontario.
"The Black River in Simcoe County flows south and west from the Haliburton County to the Severn River near Washago, about a mile downstream of the Severn River's source at Lake Couchiching. It is a common misconception that the river flows into Lake Couchiching, which is not the case. This was a problem for lumbermen in the 1860s, who established the Rama Timber Transport Company, to move logs from the Black River to Lake Couchiching. This river is now used for recreational canoeing and kayaking. The Head River is a tributary of this river." - Wikipedia

The trade war between the U.S. and Canada continues... At first, it wasn’t too noticeable, but prices are definitely going up for us in uncomfortable ways here in Canada. I don’t know how to make sense of what’s happening (it seems senseless). I don’t want to fight. I want peace. So I’m going to try to stay positive over here. To continue to look for kindness and beauty. Love inspires me...

These chairs are really comfortable! They are known as The Adirondack Chairs in the U.S. but they are called Muskoka Chairs here in Canada.
Sit on these Muskoka chairs and dream in Washago. I heard geese making a loud noise, so walked to the riverside to investigate. I saw them but they were too far to be included in this photo.
Thanks for visiting, much appreciated. Enjoy your week.

This morning, I was listening to a new release called “Hesitate” by an alternative-rock band from Vancouver called Meltt. As the title of the song suggests, it’s a song about being cautious. The music is upbeat and sunny though, and the song ends with these simple, but motivating words:
Don’t wait
Embrace
Go face
New ways

Anyway, I immediately fell in love with this song, and I think it’s perfect for a summer soundtrack. :) Thank you as always for being here. I am so grateful!
