With the heat being what it was this week, I just couldn't find the motivation to actually bake today so I took a walk up to Epicuria and picked up a couple cookies.
Surprisingly these were actually very difficult to shoot and I'm not too happy with the results, but hey, what can you do?
Oh well, hope everyone has had a good Sunday.

There's been a lot of black and white in my stream of late, so I thought it could use a pop of color. This image, made last fall of a winding chaotic Japanese Maple contrasts well against the clean lines and order of the Oculus in the previous image.
With a few trips and busy work schedule, this roll was hanging out for a bit waiting to get processed....and then waiting just a bit longer to get scanned in. That's what I like about shooting film and my Flickr stream. They aren't instant, they are thought out. Sometimes there is a theme from image to image, but sometimes that theme is simple variety.

On a recent drive with a friend, the contrast of this fence and the row of trees against the snow caught our eye...
No matter how much you try to obtain variety and diversity in life, at some point, there is always a kind of routine monotony spreading around. As it consists of the same processes, tasks, and people, excitement all goes flat little by little.
Looking for variations to bland everyday life can spice up unexceptional experiences. Such an escape from the misery of the constant boring repetition offers the possibility to rediscover yourself. And so, a little more contrast can suddenly create a whole new and exciting perception.
