Megan Grooms, 87th Force Support Squadron military support squadron chief, both dance their way out of "jail" during the 87th Security Forces Squadron National Police Week Jail and Bail fundraiser May 17 here. Kuenzli was arrested for 60 minutes for releasing master sergeant promotion results five minutes too early and Grooms was to serve 20 minutes for being too perky for the military. Supporters submitted "arrest warrants" for anyone at the cost of a dollar per minute for up to 60 minutes. The perpetrators were then handcuffed and brought to serve their sentence. “High Altitude” performs for Soldiers.

 

CONTINGENCY OPERATING BASE SPEICHER, Iraq – Fourth Infantry Division rock band “High Altitude,” plays for Soldiers stationed at Contingency Operating Base Speicher New Year’s Day. The band members, assigned to Musical Performance Team C, part of the “Ivy Division” Band, Division Special Troops Battalion, 4th Inf. Div., represent one of several small ensembles the band reorganized into after Army bands transformed to modular teams. The modularization provided musicians with increased deployment mobility and the opportunity to focus on a particular genre of music. “This allows us to do multiple missions at the same time,” said Evansdale, Iowa-native, Spc. Kasey Walker, acoustic guitar player for High Altitude. “With smaller ensembles, we can be moved from place to place with little hassle.”

Spencer visited the 401st Army Field Support Brigade May 4-7 to see the many ways the brigade supports the maneuver units. During the visit, ASC leadership met many 401st personnel and many of the partners who are critical to accomplishing our missions.

Dairy specialist demonstrates micro-dairy production.

CONTINGENCY OPERATING SITE WARRIOR, Iraq – M. Germaiani, a dairy specialist hired by the Agriculture Department of Kirkuk, demonstrates to local district dairy farmers the proper way to use equipment for micro-dairy production, Feb. 17, 2011. Germaiani poured a local farmers’ raw goat milk into a milk pasteurizing machine at the micro-dairy near Kirkuk. Once pasteurized, the milk is turned into yogurt then transferred to a filling machine where it’s placed into sealed containers. The yogurt is then stored in a refrigerator until distributed to the local markets in the city of Kirkuk.

CONTINGENCY OPERATING SITE WARRIOR, Iraq – Major General David Perkins, 4th Infantry Division and United States Division – North commander, recognizes Soldiers from the 1st Advise and Assist Task Force, 1st Infantry Division, for their outstanding contributions to Operation New Dawn. Perkins presented coins in a ceremony held at the 1st Advise and Assist Task Force Headquarters at Contingency Operating Site Warrior, Iraq, Aug. 22, 2011. “As you prepare to withdraw from Warrior, it is important to remember the Soldier that has carried us this far,” said Perkins, addressing awardees and their leadership. “Your continuous efforts and hard work reflect great credit upon yourselves, Task Force Devil and Task Force Ironhorse.”
