NW 1378 with its Orland Park commuter train consist at Dearborn Station 8-76. This final use of Dearborn Station was a bit before my time- I never did see a train there (the N&W train moved over to Union Station sometime after this photo). I did however ride on these N&W coaches, but not on a trip to Orland Park; on 9/28/79 I rode them on the "Valpo Dummy", the former Penn Central commute service to Valparaiso, Indiana. The NW service had been upgraded to some newer equipment and the cars shifted over to the Valparaiso service as an "upgrade" for the even older coaches that had been in use.
