Commuters the world over are not at their best on a Monday morning and I can speak from experience having endured the Guildford-London Waterloo commute every day in the late 1960's/early 1970's, just after the end of steam on B.R. It was then beyond comprehension to me that in forty years time commuting behind steam traction would still be an everyday occurrence in Europe. Sadly, that has finally come to an end. With just nine more such arrivals at Poznań to take place, capturing this part of railway history for me just had to be done. The 05:40 (Train 77325) from Wolsztyn has just arrived on time at 07:33 and mostly sullen-faced passengers make their way to the office along the icy platform at Poznań Main station on Monday 2nd December 2013.

Japan has a very extensive railway transportation network, whereby most major cities and even smaller towns are reachable by train.
With train types ranging from the high speed Shinkansen and commuter trains to the tourist-oriented joy trains and tramways run by both public and private railway companies, the rail journey itself is an almost endless adventure to explore with.
This post (on Tokyo first) is dedicated to the railfans out there around the world like me, who actually started getting into photography as a railfan many years ago!

Kershaw Eight-20 Penguin, Rollei Retro 400 120 film by AGFA.
After all of the light leaks on my previous roll of Penguin film I was eager to see if it was an issue with the camera or user error. Thankfully it appears to have been user error as this roll contained no light leaks at all. I did make a whole new set of mistakes which meant I have only really got 2 and a half shots from this roll but that is how you learn I guess!
