A fitting memorial to some of the bravest men in history.
The Commando memorial at Sundown, Spean Bridge, Highlands, Scotland
Commandos are much too tough to be concerned about a little rain, but the statues at the Commando Memorial near Spean Bridge in Lochaber were about to be hit by a very heavy deluge! Facing the incoming weather, the memorial overlooks the training areas of the Commando Training Depot established in 1942 at Achnacarry Castle.

Upon the request from a commission or two and suggestions from others, I have designed an Imperial Commando template. Based on a mixture of the only three good reference pictures I have, this template went through a series of trials before the final product, seen here, was made. The visor itself took four different attempts to get shape and shading right. Nevertheless, I am pleased with the outcome. Thanks to Clone Army Customs for the weapon, helmet, and backpack; Tyler's helmet worked great for the Imperial Commando template.
It may be a little hard to see, but I've integrated battle-damage to the figure via decals. Battle damage is not usually something you see made from decals, so I tried my best; view on all sizes for a better view of the battle damage and details.
So anyways, as always, I'd like to see your feedback! I want to know what you guys think of the battle damage and the visor; is there anything you would like to see changed or added, maybe even removed? Let me know in the comments!

The Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge
Another trawl through the archives. this was taken more years ago than I care to remember on my first digital camera, an old Fuji Finepix. The quality is a bit dodgy but I think it is a good representation of the atmosphere of the place.
We are the offspring of warriors;
In days of darkness and despair
we are the future they could not see.
We are the destiny they hoped for.
The generations yet unborn
for which they fought and died.
The inheritance for which many waded
through blood and survived
to live a life imprisoned in bodies
maimed and mangled
by the inhumanity of war.
We are the offspring of warriors:
Men and women who remain
bloodied but unbowed.
Perfect in spirit and brotherhood.
See their path before you.
They have left a road much travelled.
The Road to Valour.
The Path of Truth.
Each paved with integrity, with bravery,
with blood, sweat, and tears.
May the tracks we leave behind
for our future generations
be as worthy of the journey
as the ones we now follow.
Do not tread upon their footsteps.
Walk beside them, learn from them
and leave your own mark
for others to pursue.
We are the offspring of warriors:
Their voices echo down the years
exhorting us to stay strong,
to be vigilant in our own battles,
to recognise our true enemies.
They cry in horror as we so easily
give up the freedoms for which they laid down their lives.
Their lives demand that we too
make our word our bond,
that we too stand up for what we believe in
That we too represent our truth
with integrity, with perseverance.
That we too may leave a legacy
and not just a memory.
We are the offspring of warriors:
With clear hearts and eyes
we all march down a path in history.
Whether, in the telling of our journeys,
we weave a tapestry of greatness or of loss,
that story will be told to our generations.
Make it a tale worth the telling,
for we are the offspring of warriors.

the mandalorian super commandos were a group of mandalorians who did not follow the old traditions of mandalore. while they had ther own code based on the super commando codex it did not limit them like the dogmatic view of mandalore the great.

A Rebel Commando is a Rebel Trooper trained for special forces operations. Rebel Commandos fought in the Battle of Endor. As well trained soldiers, Rebel Commandos were often used for scouting and demolition missions. The commandos on Endor were a special 12-man team with members from all seven Regiments of the Alliance Special Forces, they helped out Princess Leia, Chewbacca and Han Solo blow up the shield generator to the Death Star II.
Hi all,
We have just restocked the sold out printed commando helmets now. And we made more two new ones for you. Niner and Skirata helmets. By the way, we also release a new color dark gray in our Sci-Fi helmets. Hope you like it.
But I'm sorry that we can't make it for the other sold out items at this time. e.g. Utapau and 501st airborne helmets. And due to the post office closing schedule. We will temporarily close store from 9th December to 1st of next January. I'm sorry again for inconvenience.
I've been building my Space Police army recently but I have fallen behind with pictures.
Time to put that to rights, I'll start small with these three commandos. Watch out for more coming soon!

The commando monument near Spean Bridge in Lochaber. Unveiled in 1952 by the Queen Mother. A well known Category A listed monument dedicated to the men of the British Commando forces raised during WWII. Monument sits in a prominent site and looks over the area used for training with the mighty Ben Nevis and Aonoch Mhor as a backdrop. Took this moody shot as the sun was trying to pierce through the clouds. Looks like the statues are looking into the light...
[Log Entry]
As we walked through the catacombs, Blast and Nix took the front, while Sharp and I filled in the rear. I was thinking about that helmet, and what could of killed that trooper so brutally. As we were walking, I heard the mechanical clank of a droid, along with the chittering of a Geonosian. I had no time to warn Blast when a huge half Geonosian, half droid charged in front of him and kicked him in the chest with his metal foot. Blast hit the ground hard, and went limp. Nix ducked behind a rock as the droid slowly walked past. As he did, I realized that the helmet belonged to a Commando, and this must have been the thing that killed him. Sharp quickly drew his rifle, and started shooting. The thing took the shots surprisingly well, as he slowly walked towards us. I finally snapped to attention, and shot him at the same time as Sharp. We hit him directly on his head, which sent him down. I quickly ran over to Blast, and found him still breathing, but his chest armor heavily damaged, and a small amount of blood seeping through. I scooped him up, and we kept walking.
[Log End]
This shot has a really weird angle, mostly because of how big the mechanical wings turned out to be. Do you guys think its not too bad? Also, what do you think of the Geonosian?

During the Second World War British Commandos and other specialist forces trained in this remote part of north-west of Scotland - an area that was completely closed off for secrecy.
This memorial, located at Spean Bridge, near Fort William, commemorates the Commandos. This is the area they trained in.
Close nearby is a poignant area put aside for personal tributes to individual Commandos - to those who died in that war but also there are many more modern additions as their deadly job continues.
My photo was taken in "Summer" but if you look closely there are still very small areas of snow on the mountains.

The plaque on the monument reads "In memory of the officers and men of the commandos who died in the Second World War 1939–1945. This country was their training ground."

============================================
The Ensign Commando, a British camera manufactured by Houghton-Butcher, has certain unusual features. It was designed during the World War II as a military camera for the British Army, but the conflict ended when it had hardly begun to be used. Therefore, Houghton-Butcher adapted it to the civil market. The other interesting detail is that the focusing is not achieved moving the lens, but rather the focal plane. All the film moves forward and back against a tension plate. Finally, this is a 2 format camera, 6x6 and 6x4.5 cm. But unlike other models that nee a removable frame (which ALWAYS ends up lost), in this case the reducer frame is formed by two integral rotating plates on both sides (as if they were shutters).
Lens is an Ensar Anastigmat f3.5 75mm in an Ensign Epsilon leaf shutter.
This example in question is the civil version of 1946, and it's my second Commando (first one wasn't usable. It's interesing how early seems to be in the production line, as it's lens serial number is only 13XX and the shutter even less, just a 9XX. Camera serial number is a C16XX.

100% Made in France neon lights, alpha male warriors, excessive violence, and bare breasts purely for free: it's the 80s with Commando Ninja, a movie that pays homage to the greatest action-type clichés with whom we grew up to become the degenerate beings steeped in pop culture that we are today.
