I had been wondering where I was going to find one more example of raw sienna this evening, when I fixed myself a cup of coffee.
I love this mug! It's from our '09 visit to Philly. Pep is a real dog who lived at Eastern State Penitentiary. As the story goes, he killed the governor's wife's cat and was sentenced to spend the rest of his days there. Other stories say that the governor sent the dog onto the prison grounds to boost morale.
If you ever get the chance to visit Eastern State in Philly, I encourage you to go. It's eerie and historical and fascinating. It might even be haunted if you believe in such things...
