This was an outtake from Week 3 of my Project 52! It didn't quite make the cut because of the uneven lighting and dark shadows! However, I still quite like the dynamic splash!

Coffee mug from OKQ8 left by a fisher at the Lower Lake at Rudan. The text says that OKQ8 serve coffee that is a a bit better. That has to mean that it is better than the coffee I sip for free at my favorite cafe, Malmens konditori, I seriously doubt that.
Well, I've had the mug for quite sometime now but those four pieces of shortbread oh and also the additional piece didn't last too long after my round of golf!

I have been drinking coffee in some form since I was 5.
Not to the knowledge of my parents.
When I was little, my mom and dad built a house 100 yards from the house we are getting ready to move to (my grandma's) well I was there all of the time and my grandpa drank coffee, of course like any kid I wanted to copy, so he would fix me "coffee milk" a lot of milk and a wee bit of coffee. I never stopped the addiction.
Now I must have TWO cups before I'm actually a semi tolerable person in the morning. :)

I slip outside today, once the wind calms just a little. Who can resist? The sun is shining. It's a reasonable temperature since I am wearing a sweater. With coffee in tow, I strap the camera around my neck. With a slide of the kitchen door, I am out.
It feels fantastic; sunshine on my back, wind in my hair, falling leaves visiting from all directions.
Looking around for anything of particular interest on which to focus my lens, I spy something. No broad-winged hawk passes overhead. No albino deer nibbles foliage in my path. Neither the first nor second naturally exciting things occur.
It is merely a lone pumpkin, in the center of a table. It's been there for weeks; offering a pop of color, a reminder of this exciting season, and a true beacon for Halloween.
I rest my favorite "I heart New York City" mug alongside, and it feels right.

This reminds me, once again, that nothing is ordinary. Not the opportunity to walk outside. Not the blessing of having another day in which to do so. Not this forum through which we connect across the miles.
It is all quite extraordinary.
