Castle Clinton or Fort Clinton was once a circular sandstone fort now located in Battery Park at the southern tip of Manhattan, New York City, in the United States. It subsequently became a beer garden, a theater, the first immigration station (predating Ellis Island), a very popular public aquarium, and finally a national monument. Construction began in 1808 and was completed in 1811. The fort, known as West Battery (sometimes South-west Battery), was designed by architects John McComb Jr. and Jonathan Williams. It was built on a small artificial island just off shore.

The sad face of rural decline. At first glance I thought it said "The Corner Store'. On SH1 Clinton with the MSL (Main South Line) just out of shot at the bottom of the frame.

Early Morning

Clinton, New Jersey

Built in 1870, this bridge was the first crossing of the South Branch of the Raritan River in Clinton, New Jersey as part of the Easton -Brunswick Turnpike. It replaced a covered bridge which stood at this site until 1869. In the early 1920's another bridge was constructed about 100 yards south of this as part of New Jersey's burgeoning highway system. This was NJ Route 9 which later was became part of US Route 22. In The 1960's still another bridge was constructed another 100 yards or so downstream of the Route9/Route 22 bridge which carries I-78 traffic over the river and bypasses this historic town.

Looking at the underside of the Clinton Presidential Library, in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. In the distance is the Rock Island Bridge (recently re-named the Clinton Park Bridge). It's an old rail bridge, built well over 100 years ago, that is now part of the Clinton Library complex. The old bridge is finally slated to be converted to a pedestrian bridge, with construction scheduled to be completed next summer....
