"Pittsburgh's first successful blast furnace for making pig iron. Operations began near here, 1859, using Connellsville coke as fuel. The furnace's technology initiated a new era, leading to more advanced furnaces capable of producing huge amount of iron and resulting in the modern blast furnace. Clinton Furnace played an important role in establishing Pittsburgh's dominance in iron and steel making. Operations ended in 1927."

Clinton is a city in and the county seat of Clinton County, Iowa, United States. The population was 26,885 as of 2010. Clinton, along with DeWitt, Iowa (also located in Clinton County), was named in honor of the sixth governor of New York, DeWitt Clinton. Clinton is the principal city of the Clinton Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is coterminous with Clinton County. Clinton was incorporated on January 26, 1857.
Clinton is on the western shore of the Mississippi River and is the easternmost city in Iowa.

In May 2005 I put together a show called "Hometown Nights". This image along with "Washington," "Zalm," "Cherry," "Joe DiMaggio," "Grand," "Koning Albert II," and "Wilhelmina Op Zuid" were all in it. All works were titled by the name of the street I was standing on (or closest to) while shooting the image.
