Pier 39 at San Francisco, a sail ship was passing by....my brain deciphered it as a pirate ship breaking into the bay!
Cyclists not getting on the train because of Caltrain's utter refusal to a) admit that better service for bikes would be a good thing and b) to make even basic policy changes that would greatly improve the predictability of service. As things are now, a cyclist can show up and a train has a random chance of having anywhere from 16 to 64 spaces for bikes. When two 16-spot trains are randomly assigned to the two busiest bike runs of the day in a row, chaos ensues. (8:44am SB train, 8:59am SB train, 4th+King).
Every single one of the cyclists here were bumped from the 8:44am train because the "random pattern" had been for the 8:44am train to be a 32-spot train - but surprise, not today!
I put my camera directly on the cable car tracks, snapped a few shots and this one ended up turning out the best. The fog coming in from Pac Heights had a bizarre blue tint to it tonight that shows up here.
I love my street.
On the way down to Off The Grid, I came across this perfect photo opportunity in Fort Mason with the statue of Phillip Burton and the Golden Gate Bridge in the background with the sun setting creating the crazy sky colors.
The first in a series of 33 photos I'm going to take. I spent entirely too much time editing this photo trying to get it right and still am not 100% satisfied with how it turned out. But, I wanted to post something after such long inactivity!
The somewhat curious view from inside my apartment. According to local legend, my apartment was a barber shop from 1890 through to sometime between 1920 and 1940. It was converted to an apartment during the "post-war housing crisis".
Also note that it avoided being burned down in 1906 and shaken down in 1989.
This photo was taken in San Francisco, in subdivision CA. It was partly sunny when I made this photo. The prognosis is clearing and breezy. This photo is taken on Thursday, July 17, 2008 1:33:08 AM and context-tagged with IYOUIT.
Took a few exposures at night from the top of the tunnel. It was one of the nicest nights weather-wise that I'd ever spent in the city.
It's both convenient and unsettling that, as neighbours living in the same building, we have the power to cut the electricity to each other's homes.
First outside shot with my new camera! The camera even had a roll of expired Wal-Mart film in it, ready to go!

Various parts of life I have seen and photographed with my Treo 650 - if only it were a better quality camera in the all-in-one device some of these might have been quite nice...
The mural on the left is the Evolutionary Rainbow. Credit to Krista for figuring out what it was all about :)
