Due of the SAIL 2015 event around middle of August, was there a bigger need of articulated buses on line 48 (whice came around the event). So was bus line 15 mainly run with the shorter Citea-buses.
This is a further variation of the tri-axle VDL Citea image kindly provide by Keith McGillivray (see the East Lothian Buses version for background details). National Express West Midland (formerly Travel West Midlands) is the current day successor to West Midlands PTE. Owned by the National Express Group, it is one of the largest bus operators in the UK and the largest in the West Midlands. The current livery reflects the style used by the group’s long-established coach operations but with a more subtle variation of the grey‘connecting lines’. I have no knowledge of any VDL Citea in the West Midlands fleet, and the tri-axle version is certainly unlikely, but the group is large enough to court any supplier wishing to showcase its products (21-Mar-13).

Schiphol Airport 26-11-2019. HTM Specials 86-BFF-3 (151) VDL Citea SLF120/310 new in September 2014.
Amsterdam Sloterijk, 29 October 2017.
In September new buses were put into service for the Haarlem-IJmond concession. This includes these R-NET liveried VDL Citeas for the service from Amsterdam to IJmuiden. The service no longer serves the centre of the city, rather station Sloterdijk, where passengers have to change to a train/tram/metro/bus.
