A guy comes around and takes a small piece of dough, does a crazy dance with it to stretch it out and stuff, and then puts the noodles in your hot pot. Pretty cool, but must be tiring for the poor kid. Also, since the restaurant is very popular and the wait time is typically around 1-2 hours, they offer complimentary watermelon, tea, seafood chips?, daycare for your chlidren, and you can also get your nails done.
The staff at Spring Mills was phenominal! Here, they patiently taught the chlidren how to make their own leather pouches.
John & Mary lived in the Schoolroom flat which was on the second floor of the main castle - it had been the living quarters of the Carnergie chlidrens teachers - it included a 30x40 living room, two turrets, a fireplace; a formal dinning room, kitchen, storage room, master bedroom looking onto the courtyard, and two addl bedrooms, one used for the baby; bath and half; hot water was provided by the coal/wood stove located in the kitchen with a drying rack above the stove for drying wash. No refrigerator, but we had what the Scots called a "cold closet" which is an open closet with air duct to the outside and a marble slab on the table to place your meat and dairy products.
