2011/01/04: Make a photograph today with a diagonal line leading the viewer's eye through the composition. #ds415
Checkmate in four moves.
A bit of a learning experience today. I wanted to create a diagonal element by blending together multiple shots to show the queen moving across the board. This turned out not to be as easy as I thought. If I could do it over, I would probably take more shots at smaller movement increments and then combine all the shots by averaging.
The horrible weather outside has taken its toll. So, inside I go to mess about with whatever I can find!
Tried first with a king

Fun cheerful geometric retro pattern print. Muted red, pink, green and turquoise. Great for aprons, curtains, placemats, tablecloths, runners, or shirts, skirts, tank tops or pillows.

1. In this photo, there are three chess pieces on top of a wooden surface.
2. I used the rule of odds in this photo in order to showcase the different chess pieces. I placed a white chess piece in the middle of two black chess pieces for contrast.
3. I took this picture close to the windows in order to capture a nice effect with the sunlight and lighting in general. I also edited the photo so that there would be contrast in the lightness vs the darkness of the chess pieces.
