This was a particularly cool checkered skipper. I'd never seen one before so it was another to add to my list. Their bodies have a bluish tint to them and I admit, I took quite a few shots. It was weird mid-day sun and I was worried none of the dozen or so I took would turn out alright. :-)
Neil, checking colour consistency and register. This sort of print is tough to do with letterpress since the paper stretches as it goes through the press in addition to the pressure applied against the plate itself which amplifies the effect somewhat.
