Edison failed 10, 000 times before he made the electric light. Do not be discouraged if you fail a few times.

The Columbia Icefield has one of the largest accumulations of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle, it covers an area of nearly 325 sq kilometres (125.5 sq miles), sometimes reaching a depth of 300-360 metres (0.186-0.224 miles).
The continuous accumulation of snow feeds eight major glaciers, all visible from the Icefields Parkway.
Seen here is Athabasca Glacier during golden hour, it's roughly 6 km (3.73 mile) long and 1 km (0.62 mile) wide.
Many thanks for your visits, comments are always welcome and appreciated; have a wonderful day ahead, my dear photography friends! 💕😊
"Rain is grace; rain is the sky descending to the earth; without rain, there would be no life."
John Updike
The moment the rain stopped falling, I grabbed my camera and headed out to the garden.
I adore what happens to the large mounds of ornamental grass when it rains. Water slides down each blade, waiting to take the fall.
Fortunately I was there to capture these reflective drops.
60076 catching autumn light just as it enters Winterbutlee Tunnel, Walsden.
What I thought was going to be a loaded Biomass to Drax Power Station turned out to be this light engine.

A photo taken on a late evening visit to St Aidans where a number of Black Headed Gulls were noisily cartwheeling in the late light.
This is Samuel. I found him in Waterford with some other bears. I found the little Ketchup container also so I thought I would pair them together.

The alternative view of Hamnoy on the Lofoten Islands, Norway. Our final day finally brought some snow with the sun desperately trying to break through.

I liked the way that the background Christmas lights on the trees were reflected off this electric vehicle parked at a downtown charging station in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
Our Daily Challenge: "Catching The Light"
These chipmunks are usually very elusive in this area but this one was found sunning on a cool day. There are many predators to keep them in hiding.

There are only 72 sunny days per year in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
And be sure, no living thing will miss even the faint glimpse of sunshine.
I feel I am way behind in posting my photos. This was taken early November when some of the cows still had their winter coats.
I didn't realise how young this girl looked until I uploaded this. I suspect she would be around 5 or 6 but to me she looks like a calf herself.
How amazing is her colour?
Well I am still here... just not around too much with the things going on.
But this is a quick one to keep Flickr happy and for Sliders Sunday.
Another experiment. This was taken on my phone using a free Android app called Paper Camera which produces a range of highly stylised looks that you can tweak a bit. It's all instant stuff, but I rather like the results so I'll probably explore a bit further.
The app generated image was adjusted slightly using the free online Pixlr editor, though I could also have used Flickr's inbuilt editor which I have found in the past is quite competent (not sure why more people don't use it really - some of the straight out-of-the-camera images you sometimes see posted could easily be improved a little using Flickr's editor. I guess people don't know it's there.)
Anyway to all my Flickr friends: be well in these troubled times.
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Sliders Sunday!
